Hillary: We’re Going to Put a Lot of Coal Miners Out of Business

Bragging about killing jobs isn’t a great strategy.

Hillary Clinton is apparently planning to continue President Obama’s war on coal if elected. She said as much at a CNN town hall event on Sunday night.

The Daily Wire reports:

Hillary Pledges To Put Coal Miners Out Of Business

Promising to kill the coal industry and its jobs via regulation and taxation if elected President, Hillary Clinton called for economic revitalization via the creation of an industry for “clean renewable energy” as a substitute. Speaking at the CNN-hosted Democratic town hall event in Columbus, Ohio, Clinton sanctioned the narrative of anthropogenic global warming in calling for the cessation of consumption of fossil fuels.

“I’m the only candidate which has a policy about to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country, because we’re gonna put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business,” promised Clinton.

Seemingly noticing the gaffe, Clinton’s cadence changed as she asked, “Right, Tim?”

Without providing details as to how she intends to do so, Clinton committed to replacing jobs continually being lost via the Obama Administration’s deliberate moves to shut down the coal industry.

“Now we’ve gotta move away from coal, and all the other fossil fuels,” continued Clinton…

Here’s the video:

Obama’s presidency has been devastating for people who work in the coal industry and he hasn’t let up. Just two months ago, he took another drastic step.

The Atlantic reported:

Obama’s Big New Move on Coal

In his second term, President Obama has taken increasingly forceful steps to fight climate change. He’s forged emissions-limiting deals with China and pushed for the first international climate accord. Most importantly, last year his administration initiated the Clean Power Plan: a new set of EPA regulations meant to slowly phase out the nation’s array of coal-burning power plants and reduce its carbon emissions overall.

Those rules were meant to constrain the demand for coal, limiting how much of what’s mined ever actually enters the atmosphere. But many economists have long maintained that if the U.S. truly wanted to mitigate climate change, it would have to target the supply of coal—how much of the fossil fuel is mined—as well. That’s why activists opposed the Keystone XL pipeline for so many years, and why green groups have since rallied around the slogan, “keep it in the ground.”

On Friday, the Obama administration announced its most significant measure yet to do just that. The Department of the Interior said that it would not grant any new leases to mine coal from public land until it reviewed the federal coal program.

Once again, Obama’s progressive agenda trumps jobs and Hillary has made it clear that she’ll be no better.

And “Nobody died in Libya.”

I think the campaign is taking a toll. Is she losing touch with reality? Is her health failing?

Yes without a doubt her health is failing. And unless she’s just shamming her mental faculties are at the top of the list. If she were closer to her husband I would suspect some long term drug damage too but it doesn’t look like she shares any vice but adultery with Bill. Maybe alcoholism?

Tough to diagnose from a distance from only pics and puff articles.

Is she losing touch with reality?

She can’t lose what she never had.

“Bragging about killing jobs isn’t a great strategy.”

Oh, sure it is…!!!

Especially THESE jobs!

It’s right in the Collectives’ wheelhouse. You KILL jobs in the name of environmental correctness, weaken the grid we all depend on, AND pursue the Collective’s war on the middle class while likely putting more working people on the dole!

Nothing says, “We’re the coalition of the fringes” like putting people out of work. Might as well put up a sign that says “work hard? productive? We hate you!”

Her husband managed to put most of our mills, loggers, chip truck drivers, etc out of work. Now it’s her turn.

That’s the collective way…make everyone dependent on Uncle Sugar for a hand to mouth existence.
Kind of like a corollary to the old maxim, “When you’ve got’em by the balls….”

And speaking of testicles, I wonder how Trump’s bankers are going to exert their “influence” on him. He’s only too big to fail if they fear his demise or if they can make nice to their advantage.

    It worked. She won.

The most honest statement from her this year.

and driving up the cost of energy for the consumer….

Obama is on video promising to bankrupt companies that built coal fired power plants. He got elected twice. I’m not sure it matters.

CO2 emissions from power plants are now less than they were when Reagan was president. Which is pretty amazing given we have about 80 million more people living in America than we did in 1987 and we produce probably $10 trillion more in GDP.

Air quality, as measured by six major pollutants, has never been better in the past 35 years as it is today:
https://www3.epa.gov/airtrends/aqtrends.html

Environmentalism is a combination of a religion and a scam. As demonstrated by those charts, it does not matter how much emissions and pollutants are reduced. The zealots will always demand more. Even if it raises electricity prices without reducing global temperatures. Like religion, they get some spiritual benefit in believing they are doing “good” by stopping evil fossil fuel usage. It is a giant scam because regardless of all the great progress made in reducing emissions and improving air quality since at least 1980, rich Democrat plutocrats are heavily invested in uneconomic alternative energy sources. The only way they can make money is via government mandates and subsidies. And the zealots are willing to pay off the high priests for their salvation.

Hillary’s statement is false.

She’s not putting Coal out of Business, she’s going to cause coal jobs to boom!

All of that manufacturing driven out of the USA & all of that cheap energy caused by making US coal find overseas markets, will pave the way for a Chinese/Mexican/South Asian economic boom at the expense of US workers.

More coal will be burned, but without ‘clean coal’ regulations, and if coal burning has any environmental impacts then the global environment suffers.

Emission-limiting deals with China – that’s a laugh. China doesn’t give a flying fig about pollution, let alone leftist bogeymen like carbon emissions and “global climate change” ~

So? Biden said the same in 2012 and Obama won.
