Will mocking Trump work where all other attacks have failed?

Will mocking Trump work where all other attacks have failed?

Trump Action Figure ad by Ted Cruz is brilliant, but will it just bounce off

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvPh9I_jwBo

An ad put out by the Ted Cruz campaign attacking Donald Trump is brilliant.

The production quality is high, it’s funny, and it goes to a core public perception of Trump as a candidate — that he is not to be treated as a serious person. Trump has the highest national negatives of all candidates of either party, and does poorly in head-to-head matches not only with Ted Cruz but also with Hillary and Bernie.

The ad plays on this perception by having children with a Trump Action Figure doll laugh as they recite Trumps policy positions and friendliness with people like Nancy Pelosi.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvPh9I_jwBo

The end, in which the children smash a house while shouting ’eminent domain’ is quite effective.

Core Trump supporters are not the target of the ad. They will not be shaken.

Rather, the goal would be to chip away at Trump’s roughly one-third of support and to prevent that support from growing by dissuading last-minute deciders and uncommitted voters from flowing Trump’s way.

Serious attacks on Trump based on his statements, language and policy positions have not worked. The National Review “Against Trump” special issue made the serious case against Trump, but didn’t dent his momentum.

Serious policy- or personality-based attacks against Trump have not worked.

Will mockery?

Despite all the negativity thrown at Trump from all corners of the media and internet. He still stands. You’ve got to give him a little credit.

Will mockery work? I guess we’ll find out. Cruz went all “body of Christ” preaching to get the evangelical vote in Iowa. That won’t work everywhere though.

Radegunda in reply to Mr. Izz. | February 10, 2016 at 11:03 pm

Trump cultists aren’t swayed by facts any more than Obama cultists were. And Obama actually tries to act civilized most of the time.

One thing about the Obama cult is that included many liberal and conservatives in the media, who did not provide any real information about Obama. The public and other cultists were voting based upon no or little objective information.

I doubt that Trump cultists will have that impediment to their glorification of Trump.

DuraMater in reply to Mr. Izz. | February 10, 2016 at 11:17 pm

“Cruz went all “body of Christ” preaching to get the evangelical vote in Iowa. ”

And Trump waved around his boyhood Bible at Iowa rallies trying to “prove” he is a Christian. He stumbled through a pre-selected and transcribed scripture verse sounding like an 8 year old attempting to read Elizabethan English at Liberty U then asked the crowd, “That’s what you like, right?” But once out of Iowa, it was right back down to his course and vulgar comfort zone.

Cruz OTOH, continues to articulate his policy positions and unwavering commitment to constitutional principles which are founded upon Judeo-Christian values everywhere. A candidate who has internalized these values can more effectively communicate their positions without resorting to phony props and crib sheets prepared by others. They are also far more likely to remain faithful when presented with challenges or temptations to compromise our wellbeing as a nation.

Sen. Cruz’ communication skills, whether one on one with an agitated Iowa farmer or formal oratory before SCOTUS are in sharp contrast to the repetitious, loaded, rhetorical flourishes of vague promises of Mr. Trump. DJTs incomplete sentences and saltitory leaps from one topic to another tacitly avoids specific details of his agenda and is always followed by self aggrandizement (referring to poll numbers, wealth and attendance at Wharton)as if to compensate for lack of substance. His words and allegiances are like shifting sands and are well documented for all with the honest desire to see.

Donald Trump is The Music Man preaching “Trouble in River City”, a Shock Jock and Elmer Gantry all rolled into one TV celebrity salesman. This country has suffered for 7+ years the indignity of an ill-bred, thin skinned, intemperate fool posing as leader of the free world . He has been a national and international disaster and disgrace. We cannot, must not, make the same mistake again.

      Well said, Dura.

Whether the ad works to change minds is irrelevant. The ad works to remind people of what they are agreeing with – an action doll who becomes whatever you want him to be, much like the Dear Leader Obama action doll.

Now, the reality of the Mostly Malleable action figure…

Trumph the Insult Dog action figure is Elmer Gantry preaching a gospel of the power eminent domain personality, much like the Hilldebeest action doll.

Trumph the Insult Dog action figure is Elmer Gantry preaching a gospel of Yuuuuge government intervention just like Sanders Claus action doll.

No, it won’t work everywhere else, but he has more to offer.

Trump now says he’s going to be changing rapidly. He says “I’m very capable of changing into whatever I want to change into.”

It won’t matter a bit to the cultists, because they’ve only ever seen what they want to see, while ignoring all the glaring contradictions of their superhero fantasy.

A lot of what they see in Trump isn’t even there it all. The fans just project onto him whatever they desire.

Cruz supporters seem no less prone to wear rose colored glasses.

inspectorudy in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | February 11, 2016 at 1:24 am

Well that may be but I know his positions and have heard him ACTUALLY tell me what his plans are. He also knows the Constitution and that would be refreshing for someone in the WH! Trump stumbles daily if he is asked any kind of question about almost anything. He is learning as he goes and is getting better at giving the correct answers even if he doesn’t know what they mean. We saw this with obama and some of us tried to explain to his followers that they were projecting their desires onto obama and that obama had no core beliefs. It didn’t work with them and it won’t work with Trump’s people either. It is almost like mass hypnosis.

The ad will work very well among those who already support Cruz over Trump.

If your going to mock by making an action figure then at least get the hair color right.

legacyrepublican | February 10, 2016 at 9:55 pm

Sounds like it will play well in South Carolina. But will it gain votes for Cruz while Trump loses votes?

*lol* y’know Ted Cruz would have more favor if he attacked hillary or bernie’s outright support of socialism and communism.

….attacking Trump is likely to backfire on him pretty badly.

(as the liberal media I am sure will find out… too late when Trump becomes president. …that was the only reason they won against Romney last election attacking romney worked… but attacking Trump always backfires.

and if you don’t think Trump can survive such attacks… what makes Ted Cruz supporters think Cruz could survive them when he is weaker? (as is Rubio)

Trump already has a significant lead in South Carolina… so at best Cruz probably is hoping he ends up in 2nd… that is if he can beat Kasich who beat him in NH.

I saw the kiddie ad tonight. Yes, probably costly production, but It sort of struck me like those ads where they have kids pretending they are adult drivers, or some such, telling us we need some product or other. I can’t even relate to this sort of made up cute.

This was my reaction. I don’t pay attention to kids on advertisements. I don’t think it’s brilliant, not by a long shot. Annoying, at best, condescending, definitely.

If Cruz starts to seriously go after Trump for eminent domain, I say he should check his parents past thoroughly. When Bush pushed it later, up came a whole bunch of instances where the Bush family abused eminent domain to their advantage, the biggest being Texas Ranger Stadium.

Cruz better hope there are no such problems with his families oil business.

gulfbreeze in reply to HandyGandy. | February 11, 2016 at 1:15 am

Cruz may find his attack on Trump re: eminent domain backfiring.

Seems like all it would take is Trump responding in kind with the video of Cruz stating on camera he supported eminent domain for TransCanada (a Canadian company) to build the Keystone Pipeline through Texas.

Trump has vulnerabilities like every candidate does. Better for Cruz to hit those he doesn’t share with Trump.

    https://youtu.be/CwHHnjnndWA

inspectorudy in reply to gulfbreeze. | February 11, 2016 at 1:30 am

Why is it that when you bring up examples of what Cruz did it is never anything like what Trump did? Trump was trying to take over a woman’s home to build a parking lot for limos going to his casino. No public good or benefit involved. Cruz was employed to help the company of Trans Canada to get the Keystone pipe line built. Imminent domain is supposed to be for the greater public good. I think the oil industry would be considered in the public good considering jobs and taxes paid. All roads and bridges etc are built through imminent domain. But they are all for the greater good of the public. A parking lot for limos is not!

HandyGandy in reply to inspectorudy. | February 11, 2016 at 2:22 am

So filling the Koch brothers — a part of the GOPe — pockets with money is part of the public. What is more oil is a very limited source of energy ( as are wind and solar power ). A growing economy means growing energy consumption and that means fission and fusion. Extra oil just means we put that day off so much longer.

As for parking not being in the public good. Who do you think benefits from it? Not the people going to the casino. They are dropped off at the casino, and picked up at the casino. They might have to wait a bit longer, but I’ve never seen people leaving a casino being much concerned about the wait.

It does benefit the casino driver who doesn’t have to drive around looking for parking, and doesn’t lose money by wasting gas. It does benefit the public by not burning gas needlessly. It benefits the neighbors who have less trouble with freinds visiting and deliveries because there are limos parked in front of their house. Finally are you telling me that the reduced traffic congestion from extra parking is not in the public interest?

That’s strange, because around here, people are always eager to see more parking built around malls, airports, sporting venues and other high traffic areas. As long as it is on the other side that is.

          Rambling in the countryside again.

Ragspierre in reply to HandyGandy. | February 11, 2016 at 6:58 am

          Yep. You’re an idiot.

          No doubt about it.

Milhouse in reply to HandyGandy. | February 12, 2016 at 4:03 am

You’re a f***ing liar. The Kochs (a) are not at all establishment Republicans, and (b) did not stand to benefit from the pipeline at all. On the contrary, they stood to lose money it if was built. They supported it because it’s a good thing, so it didn’t matter that it was against their interest. That’s the kind of people they are. You would never support something that was against your interest; that just shows that the Kochs are better people than you are.

gulfbreeze in reply to inspectorudy. | February 11, 2016 at 6:32 pm

“Why is it that when you bring up examples of what Cruz did it is never anything like what Trump did?”

Check your memory banks. Before this post, I don’t believe I’ve ever contrasted examples of the same issue for Cruz vs. Trump. Also, I haven’t supported either candidate. I’m not a Republican, rather registered Independent.

I’m pointing out political realities/strategies, not political philosophies. There are more sympathetic landowners affected by Transcanada’s takings than Trump’s “sweet old woman who just wanted to be left alone in her house”. Cruz is vulnerable on this to any candidate left, regardless of Trump. If I was running a Jeb/Marco dark money group trying to take out Cruz, I’d be launching an ad with a grizzled-faced 70+yo Texas farmer and his wife (with a tear running down her cheek), in front of a setting sun who talk about the risk to the water supplies that irrigate their farm. Add in a shot of a cow and calf drinking water from a stream that’s just begging to be contaminated by “Ted Cruz who wants to pollute water supplies from evil tar sands from Canada”, and Trump’s attempt to take an old lady’s house for limos won’t sound so bad anymore, and “public good”/Constitutional arguments for eminent domain that will never fit into a 30 second commercial are distant memory.

Should Cruz prevail to the general election, if you don’t think his support for eminent domain for Transcanada and Keystone won’t be raised by Democrats, you’re naive.

If Cruz starts to seriously go after Trump for eminent domain, I say he should check his parents past thoroughly.

That would look pretty desperate indeed.

It smells of the deranged Palin-haters digging through her daughter’s boyfriend’s mother’s trash trying to find a way to smear Sarah by association.

By all means, vet every candidate thoroughly. But it’s the candidate we’re voting on, not his or her parents — or their daughters’ boyfriends’ mothers.

Feeble.

Even if they’d done a decent job on the hair—Trump’s outstanding recognition feature, if you don’t count his wallet—it’d be feeble.

Were I a Trump supporter, I suspect that right about now I’d be thinking, “I just love the smell of desperation in the morning.”

Don’t like Trump. Don’t like the ad. It may appeal to the political junkies, but I don’t think the average voter knows much about the eminent domain problem Trump had (has).

I think a much worse problem is his comments about hitting an IED is just going for a little ride. He should (rightfully) be hammered on it. I think it could cost him a lot of military votes, which he’d need.

The gist of the ad is spot on, though. He doesn’t act like a mature, responsible adult should. Why would we want him to represent us in the world?

DuraMater in reply to windbag. | February 10, 2016 at 11:39 pm

“…worse problem is his comments about hitting an IED …”
Yes, I saw that, too. Also, I understand Trump rebuffed a veteran in one of his rallies recently. Gentleman tried to ask for details of his plan to improve the VA. Was told to just “sit down”. I haven’t seen video record, but some witnesses present were quite put off by Trump’s impudent demeanor.

      CRUZ, 2016

The Trump retaliatory “Cruz Action Figure’ could be interesting.

Seems that the biggest thing this ad says is that Cruz is getting desperate. He has said that part of his plan is to pluck off Trump voters when he folds.

Now the hard-core voters he won’t get anyway. But the medium-core voters. Those that might vote for someone else, I’m sure this commercial is convincing those voters not to go to Cruz if Trump fails. Cruz is going against his own plan.

At what cost? I doubt this will have any effect on Trumps standing. He’s been mocked before. He’s proved he’s a big boy and can take it.

It also reinforces a view that Cruz is mean-spirited. Hardly consistent with his “Christian values”.

Professor. I’m afraid you are seeing in this ad what you hope to see not what is reality.

Republican boys in south carolina don’t play with dolls and doll houses.

Cruz is apparently a one trick pony because eminent domain didn’t play in New Hampshire and would play even less in South Carolina.

When I saw this commercial I was so distracted by the kids and their less than intelligible kid talk voices I had no idea what it was about other than Trump. I didn’t even catch the dollhouse stuff was about eminent domain.

Brilliant ad? Not ic it is supposed to be effective.

I will note that on CNN they showed this ad and the Trump anti Cryz ad. David Axelrod a person with some expertise said the Cruz ad would not work and the Trump ad would be more effective.

Gotta go with axelrod on this one.

Will this blog post count as the official LI gratuitous irrelevant Trump hit piece for this week?

My guess is the ad isn’t going to move voters. I heard somewhere that the more a voter identified as authoritarian the more likely they were to like Trumph. So those voters will have to be encouraged to support Cruz a different way. The value of this ad might be in getting under Donald’s skin. It might possibly him off enough that he really goes off the rails. However, considering the slavish devotion of his fans I’m not sure what will determine them. Don’s negatives are so high I can’t see his getting elected.

Where do we buy these?

“Trump has the highest national negatives of all candidates of either party, and does poorly in head-to-head matches not only with Ted Cruz but also with Hillary and Bernie.”

If true, why not simply vote for Ted, or Hillary, or Bernie – unless of course Trump is simply somehow repeating the opinions of the electorate.

“The National Review “Against Trump” special issue made the serious case . . .”

Hard to imagine the lightweights at National Review making a serious case about anything these days. Though the contributors (and editors) seem to enjoy playing with their doll in that provided video clip.

All things have their time and National Review’s ended, at least as a serious and important magazine worthy of respect and possessing a serious intellectual voice, sometime in the late 90s approximately when John O’Sullivan was demoted from editorship of National Review by ouster-in-chief William F. Buckley during a 1997 purge of Peter Brimelow (who predicted the current immigration gone mad era). Brimelow and O’Sullivan were ahead of their time in visualizing where uncontrolled immigration would take us. For that whey were purged to be replaced by the likes of Rich Lowry (talk about an own goal).

O’Sullivan’s successor, unfortunately, has continued the head in the sky embrace of noble lies regarding immigration that Brimelow and O’Sullivan were exposing and that Rubio wants to extend. Trump, luckily enough, is not so foolish.

Not sure. Trump is not stupid and can make fun of himself, which makes him mockery-proof in at least some cases.

It would be useful if someone would concisely and clearly define what means “candidate has negatives” or “unfavorability rating”.

I haven’t been able to find a definition somewhere, and it seems to me to be a fuzzy conclusion based on the answers to any number of varying questions. Very susceptible to propaganda.

janitor in reply to janitor. | February 11, 2016 at 9:31 am

    Apparently no one can.

    As I thought.

gulfbreeze in reply to janitor. | February 11, 2016 at 7:52 pm

Typically, instead of “unfavorability rating” I’ve seen the term often referred to as a “negative favorability rating”.

Favorability ratings are calculated via polls where respondents are asked if they view the candidate as favorable (counted as a positive number) or unfavorable (counted as a negative number).

When the majority respond favorable, the total of those 2 numbers is positive, and the candidate has a positive favorability rating.
When the majority respond unfavorable, the total of those 2 numbers is negative, and the candidate has a negative favorability rating.

    For example, see here:

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/favorable_unfavorable.html

“…it seems to me to be a fuzzy conclusion based on the answers to any number of varying questions.”

In my example above, the conclusion is specific, at least as specific as the bounds of statistical polling are specific.

    “Very susceptible to propaganda.”

I’d suggest all politics is propaganda, so we’ve got that going for us.

Cruz is getting desperate. They have seen the results from NH, and they are worse than the vote totals. Cruz lost the “evangelical” vote. And he cannot do that and win in the South.

Cruz is now reduced to using a donald doll? LOL

At least it is a race between two anti GOPe candidates.

Mocking Trump himself might. Ridicule is always a potent weapon.

Mocking Trump’s supporters, however, has backfired spectacularly. Insulting people for supporting a particular politician only has the effect of firming up their support for him. That and pissing them off.

Brilliant ad? Don’t give up your day job, Professor. That ad sucks. Not a thing about it is impressive. Can barely understand what the kids are saying, the writing is horrible, and the doll looks nothing like Trump.

First thing I noticed, wrong hair color…If you can’t get the color right, his signature feature, it’s downhill from there.
Trump 2016

The louder the complaint, the more desperate the poster. Looks to me like the Trumpets are really worried about the kiddies ad. I can just imagine thge many, many children asking their parents what eminent domain is, or better still, looking it up themselves.

I can just imagine the conversation “Mum/Dad, why would you vote for someone who does that to an old woman?”

PS: “Mum/Dad, what makes a carpark for Mr. Trump a public purposed”

Donald – “Common Core we’re gonna keep.”

Donald – “We’re getting rid of Common Core. We’re going to educate our children…”

Donald – “Common Core we’re gonna keep.”

Donald – “We’re getting rid of Common Core. We’re going to educate our children…”

Mr. Trump will say or do anything to get elected. Next – killing a man on a New York Street.

http://patterico.com/2016/02/10/new-ads-from-trump-and-cruz/

No one is going to knock Trump out of the lead with negative ads. It’s all of the things that drive the rest of the Republicans crazy that make him an attractive candidate to his supporters. When a new attack surfaces, they just say, “Yup, that’s our guy!” If you don’t get why, just give up and accept you don’t understand his appeal. Knocking Trump out of the lead will only happen when his supporters are convinced to vote for another candidate, not to vote against Trump. And the whole “electability” thing is past its expiration date. I don’t remember a President Romney or a President McCain, and neither do they.

Trump is not even spending any money. Jeb is spending millions and failing. Cruz is just plain unlikeable. Rubio looked like a complete idiot. It appears we are stuck with Trump. He wins every debate and has a core of between 30 to 40 percent of the voters. He appears unstoppable.

This is too funny!

The Professor is trolling the Trumpsters, and they don’t even know it.

😀

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | February 11, 2016 at 9:14 am

Not seeing the brilliance. You are right that about a third of “Republicans” who support Trump don’t care about facts, data, reason, or the personality/character flaws of Trump. I think they want an authoritarian nationalist along the likes of Putin or a Latin American caudillo. They applaud Trump’s vulgarness. They see Trump calling Cruz a pussy as an admirable trait. He’s tough. He says what he wants.

So the response to that is to create a slick commercial of children playing with dolls?

I don’t see how this appeals to the 65% of Republicans who hate Trump. It is passive aggressive on Cruz’s part and condescending to the voters.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall in reply to MaggotAtBroadAndWall. | February 11, 2016 at 9:38 am

Here is what might work. Trump has been selling as a strength how well he does in polls. Turn that into his biggest weakness. Do an ad showing he has a record high Gallup unfavorable rating of 60%. Show in the same ad the poll indicating 50% of Republicans say they won’t vote for him if he is the nominee.

Be direct and blunt. Tell primary voters that based on the polls a vote for Trump is a vote for a candidate who can not win in the general election. He is a loser.

The problem with that argument is if Trump is the nominee, where else are they going to go? Vote for Bernie Sanders? Folks on the right who didn’t support Romney were told to suck it up and vote for him. If Trump is the nominee, the people who said that need to take their own advice. A lot of Trump’s support comes from outside the party, and if you give them Rubio or Bush, they might vote for Sanders. There is no “purity test” that wins this election. For the last several elections, people not enamored with either candidate have been told to vote for the lesser of two evils. Now it’s the GOP establishment’s turn to choose on that basis. Sucks, doesn’t it?

There wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference between Obama and Romney on most issues either. But Republicans were expected to choose the (R) over the (D) because of. . . . the Supreme Court! You have no idea how delicious this is. I’m not a Republican, but I’d vote for Trump just for jollies. I’m an unaffiliated voter so I get to do that if I want. 😉

Republicans/conservatives are not Democrats. We won’t hold our nose and vote for a crappy candidate just because that is what the party foisted on us. (see McCain, John or Romney, Mitt) They will do the same thing they did in those elections.

        1. Leave the choice for President blank
        2. Vote for a Libertarian that is on the ballot
        3. Write in a preferred candidate
        4. Skip voting because the outcome doesn’t make a difference

The only candidates that I see the Republicans/conservatives getting behind and supporting is Ted Cruz or Ben Carson. I preferred Scott Walker or Rick Perry for their proven leadership.

I have voted in every general election and all but one primary since I was first eligible to vote over 40 years ago. I often don’t vote for every contest on the ballot because the lesser of two evils is still evil. If it comes down to Trump and eiher Hillary or Sanders, I will go to the polls and vote for every contest other than the Presidential race.

I have never once regretted not voting in a contest in which my choices were a known skunk versus a notorious liar and thief.

I liked it. I thought it showed what Trump is about, taking away peoples homes.and it also reminds people that Trump uses language that we don’t want to be used in front of kids.

He keeps lifting his skirts, showing who he really is, if you’ll just have the guts to let yourself see.

He was talking about moderating the use of spicy language. But truth doesn’t seem to matter at all to Cruz or his supporters. Cruz has been spouting out and out lies for at least a month. Lies about Trump, Carson and Palin. One has to conclude he is a person of low character.

Trump has flip flopped on more issues than J.F. Kerry during his run for the presidency. Now trumper is all about global warming. He loved the ethanol subsidies, he’s still bashing China tho. Talk about repeating repeating repeating. But they are great because he does business with them. Poor trumper, he just can’t find an American company worthy of his dollars

It will just bounce off Trump, because Trump has been given this treatment by the media his entire life.

Trump even plays up this image. You can even go on YouTube and look for a 20+ year old commercial where Trump and his wife Ivana, dressed in tuxedo and ballgown, shamelessly shill for Pizza Hut.

On a related note, I tried to watch the Johnny Depp “Art of the Deal” parody but nothing other than credits happened for the first 3:50 and the video was 40+ minutes long. I got bored and turned it off. Was it good?

Democrats don’t do satire very well. It takes a certain amount of self-awareness to be able to do it well enough to appeal to an audience outside your own bubble. A good satirist came make the object of the satire laugh at himself. Shows like SNL and the Daily Show lost their appeal when they lost the ability to make fun of themselves. Depp’s Trump just isn’t funny. It could have been clever, but it isn’t.

Well done ad! Judging by the squeals from Trump supporters, this hits home.

Who is more likely to do the following Trump or the OTHER Collectivist?

Put conservative on supreme court? Toss up. T-rump lies.

Lower tax rates and implement pro growth strategy? Well, T-rump has PROMISED a “tax-the-rich” plan, but he had SOMEBODY write a plan that leaves the CORRUPT IRS code in place while tinkering around the margins, and which is rated as INCREASING the national debt, even giving it some of its mythical assumptions. He can’t even speak to it, showing he just had it done for effect. He batied the boobs. Boob.

Help small business versus glibal mega donors? Who did he suck up to in Iowa? You have your answer, moron. He’s a fan of fascist economics, just like Nixon and Obama.

Build wall secure border and enforce our immigration laws? He SAYS that’s what he’ll do. Much of what he SAYS would be impractical/illegal. MOST of it would require BIGGER GOVERNMENT! But THAT’s who he is, and who YOU are, liar.

Do USA first trade deals of the kind suppkrted by Jeff Sessions? You mean under a fascist economics planned economy? That is anti-market, anti-liberty. That’s your Collectivist demi-god.

Rebuild the military? Who the hell knows? He openly came out against oil companies, pharma, insurance, and defense, just like the Collectivist puke he IS. Hellary is at least pretty hawkish.

You #SuckTrump, and you lie. Every day.

If you believe the bullshit you wrote above you are a fool. If you don’t believe and are just running your mouth then you are a liar.

    Either way: You’re an idiot.

I would also point out that while you claim to be unable to tell difference between Trump and Hillary and therefore don’t mind helping to put Hillary in whitehouse instead of Trump:

Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee and John Kasich have all said publicly on the debate stage that Trump is far better choice than Hillary.

So maybe you should run for President instead of Cruz because according to you Cruz is a moron for not k owing Trump is a socialist.

If Cruz is a moron for not knowing Trump is a socialist as you claim what else is Cruz a complete idiot or liar about?

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 11, 2016 at 2:09 pm

Everyone here with the ability to read can watch you lying, liar.

Duh Donald is a Progressive/Collectivist. I NEVER called him a “socialist”, you lying sack of T=rumpian sharia.

He is properly a FASCIST. Look up the term WRT economics, you lying moron. And a FASCIST is MORE dangerous in the U.S., because so few people understand who they are, and the philosophy is more appealing than other Collectivist forms.

Duh Donald has come out. He said it. You have to lie about what he DID say. YOU support the idea of a command economy.

I will fight it with everything I have, as will any conservative.

Cruz says he will vote for Trump over Hillary and would urge everyone else to do likewise.

So you are saying Cruz Mr. Consistent conservative would vote for a fascist.

You certainly have a ratber low opinion of Cruz.

BTW everytime you say no difference between Trump and Bernie and call Trump a collectivist you are calling Cruz a moron because he supports Trump over Hillary.

Spin away Rags your lies and deceptions are revealed for all but the other Cruzbots to see.

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | February 11, 2016 at 2:35 pm

“BTW everytime [sic] you say no difference between Trump and Bernie…”

Another of your stupid lies, stupid liar. I NEVER said that.

What I have said…as did Duh Donald…is that he and Bernie agree on SEVERAL issues. Just like you’d expect from two old NE Collectivist pukes.

        Donald Ducks SAID it.

        He’s DEMONSTRATED it.

        Suck it.

Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee and John Kasich have all said publicly on the debate stage that Trump is far better choice than Hillary.

What you have said is you would rather see Hillary President than Trump and would vote accordingly.

          Yep you’re an idiot.

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | February 11, 2016 at 2:50 pm

“What you have said is you would rather see Hillary President than Trump and would vote accordingly.”

That’s a lie, and you’re a liar. Just like every day.

What I’ve clearly said is that I would not vote for ANY Collectivist. Not T-rump. Not Hellary. Not Bernie. Not any other Deemocrat nominee.

NOT ANY COLLECTIVIST. Not even your man-crush, butt boi.

You are the LYING idiot. Just like every day here.

          Heh…!!!

Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee and John Kasich have all said publicly on the debate stage that Trump is far better choice than Hillary.

So now we are back to you can’t tell the difference between Hillary and Trump, but Cruz can tell the difference so Cruz is a fool according to you.

If its vote Trump or Hillary and you vote 3rd party or don’t vote you are voting for Hillary. Plain and simple.

          Yep you’re an idiot.

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | February 11, 2016 at 3:14 pm

“If its vote Trump or Hillary and you vote 3rd party or don’t vote you are voting for Hillary. Plain and simple.”

If its vote for one Collectivist puke or another, I won’t vote for either. Plain and simple. You lying sack of T-rumpian sharia.

I’ll write in someone I SUPPORT. Because I AM a Conservative.

While you are a lying Collectivist puke, along with your man-crush. Butt boi.

damocles in reply to Ragspierre. | February 11, 2016 at 5:45 pm

True Conservatives will not vote for Trump. Trump does not support liberty he supports tyranny. He just wants his tyranny and his supporters seem to be fine with tyranny as long as its their guy. I will vote for the Democrat before I vote for Trump. If the GOP have to fight against a Democrat president then so be it.

Who is more likely to do the following Trump or Hillary?

          Put conservative on supreme court

Lower tax rates and implement pro growth strategy

Help small business versus glibal mega donors

Build wall secure border and enforce our immigration laws

Do USA first trade deals of the kind suppkrted by Jeff Sessions

          Rebuild the military

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | February 11, 2016 at 6:39 pm

          Ted Cruz.

          You lying moron.

Ragspierre: “T-rump and Bernie are just two old NE Progressives/Collectivists.”

Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee and John Kasich have all said publicly on the debate stage that Trump is far better choice than Hillary/Bernie.

So Rags thinks Cruz supports progressive/collectivists.

Got it.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 11, 2016 at 3:20 pm

What you “got” is a pathological drive to lie, liar.

    Give. It. Up. Trump. Sucker.

Your Bierhall Bully brownshirt act won’t work here, Gaghdad Bob.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 11, 2016 at 3:25 pm

“Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee and John Kasich have all said publicly on the debate stage that Trump is far better choice than Hillary/Bernie.”

Since you keep chanting that, was that BEFORE T-rump came out expressly saying he AGREED with Bernie…again…in the last few days, liar?

I bet it was. But that’s still a matter of deeply personal preference.

I won’t vote for your Collectivist man-crush. I’ll work to see him impeached if he’s elected, too.

See, I like the Constitution and the ideals of liberty.

    Suck it.

If you want to beat Trump, you have to

(1) steal his issue, credibly
(2) attack him on two things. First, on his ties to NBC, and second on his eventual Sellout to the RNC.

But none of the candidates left will do or can do either of these things.

When you have so many people attacking the Donald, you have to ask WHY ? There are factions attacking for no reason. These Politicians are so slick, you don’t know who is lying, the Least.

The Trump doll is available at Amazon.

You know, I can’t imagine Bernie picking Hillary as his veep mate. Sometimes the press runs with articles in order to get to a paycheck. Hillary’s toast. (That’s not in a good way.)

Heidi Cruz said Wednesday that her husband, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), was showing America “the face of the God that we serve”

WOW. This is scarry stuff. Cruz “all glory to god for this victory” The insane mormon Glenn Beck. And now we have Heidi Cruz the idol worshipper saying her idol Teddy is showing America “the face of the God that we serve”

I don’t know which is more frightening: They are saying these things because tbey are megalomaniacs thinking they are actual rea life messengers that get instructions from god or they are the kind of people who would make up lies about this stuff just to try and manipulate people in their deepest feelings to try and win an election.

gmac124 in reply to Gary Britt. | February 11, 2016 at 10:39 pm

Gary you are obviously not a practicing Christian. Which explains your fascination with Trump. Its a wonderful time in the liturgical year. You should go to church and prepare for Easter during this time of lent. You might learn that serving God is something we are all called to, many ignore the calls today, but some of us try. Besides serving God doesn’t mean you are a prophet or Jesus. Any truly religious person knows this and the true meaning of Heidi Cruz’s statement.

You obviously know nothing about me or my christian faith. Yes I agree that lots of christians keep with god every day.

But what they don’t do is make a public spectacle of their faith and they don’t cheapen it by using it as some prop in a traveling evangelical road show campaign for material world power and money.

That is OFFENSIVE to most christians; It is the kind of phony worthless faith of Elmer Gantry and Jimmy Swaggert.

Then when you combine that with grandiose proclamations like showing America the face of the God we serve it is not only offensive BUT DANGEROUS. It is Jim Jones and David Koresh but they never tried to get their hands on nuclear weapons.

The face of the God we serve; the army of christ needs to put on their christian armour; it is time for the body of christ to rise up; DONATE YOUR MONEY AT TEDCRUZ.ORG; Yep, Jimmy Swaggert. He even has employed a porn star according to reports out today.

Now lets take a look at his particular brand of christian faith and the face of the god he serves.

Cruz, his preacher father, and even the insane mormon Glenn Beck all follow a relatively new offshoot of christianity called Dominionism. Dominionism is a perversion of traditional christian and evangelical faith that believes that christians are ordained by god to take dominion (i.e., control) over the entire earth and not only that but that they MUST take control over the entire earth in order for Jesus to be able to return to the earth.

Dominionism is crazy and dangerous. That is the face of the god Cruz serves.

As an offshoot of the above, Dominionists also believe that as part of their calling to take control over the entire planet they must gather unto themselves all the material wealth of the planet unto themselves. Send your money to preacher Ted Cruz at tedcruz.org.

Maybe it is you and your snobbish belief that you know my heart and have the true understanding of things that is the fool who will be spit out from the mouth of Jesus or worse, and maybe it is you who has no understanding of Cruz’s faith or election year theatrical prop or whatever the hell is his perverted faith.

showing America “the face of the God that we serve”

That is pretty darn close to saying Cruz has god’s or Jesus’ face which is just another way of saying Cruz is god.

What if we elect this guy and he starts showing up at the whitehouse wearing sandals and a white cotton moo moo.

#ScarryCruz

A person who thinks they are the annointed messenger of god.

Jim Jones, David Koresh, Ted Cruz

At least Jim Jones and David Koresh didn’t have the nuclear weapons launch codes.

#ScarryCruz

You’re really starting to sound kind of deranged here, Gary Britt.

I love that he’s now citing for “authority” to TPM (Talking Points Mau-maus), which is right next to Kos, and he’s been citing to Media Mutters (to itself, in a dank, dark basement).

    Pure Collectivist! AND pure bigotry!

    That’s our Bierhall Bully Britt.

Note that Rags post does not dispute the accuracy of the quotebfrom Heidi Cruz. He knows it is accurate. So he tries to divert with non sequitur and ad hominem attacks referencing everything BUT THE QUITE ACCURATE QUOTE from Heidi Cruz.

“We are at a cultural crossroads in our country, and if we can be in this race to show this country the face of the God that we serve—this Christian God that we serve is the foundation of our country,” she said. “Our country was built on Judeo-Christian values. We are a nation of freedom of religion, but the God of Christianity is the God of freedom, of individual liberty, of choice and of consequence.”

ZOMG…!!! How crazy is THAT!

Well, not really at all. Just like Reagan. Or Washington.

#LiesForTrump

What is this out today that Mr. Face of the God we serve Cruz has a porn star on his staff?

He is sounging a lot like Jimmy Swaggert these days.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 12, 2016 at 12:34 pm

Any comment on the fact that the current Mrs. Der Donald has a history of being a nudie magazine “star”?

Donald Trump doesn’t claim to have the mystical ability to shiw america the face of the gid he serves. That us your boy Cruz. Trump doesn’t say vote for Cruz is a vote for god. That is your boy Cruz. Trump doesn’t call on the body of Christ to rise up and give him power over nuclear weapons. That would be your boy Cruz.

Trump doesn’t preach about god and jesus and then ask for money like Jimmy Swaggert. That would be your boy Cruz.

Trump doesn’t have a porn star on his staff. That would be your boy Cruz.

Trump has a beautiful wife who was a big time international model, like Cindy Crawford and Heidi Klum. And Trump doesn’t have porn stars on his staff like Cruz and Jimmy Swaggert.

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | February 12, 2016 at 1:10 pm

Of course, every word of the Gagahdad Bob post above is a lie, or a distortion of the truth in PURE Collectivist style.

      OTOH…

      http://patterico.com/2016/02/12/stop-applying-a-different-standard-to-donald-trump/

“Nobody knows (fill in the blank) better than I do.”

That sure sounds eerily like another narcissistic asshole, dunnit?

Ragspierre lies constantly and always calls anyone who disagrees with him about anything a liar. Everyone knows that you just like your boy Cruz can NOT be trusTed.

        You’re a liar Rags.

Two new south Carolina Polls out today. Both have the same results.

Another South Carolina poll released today shows almost the exact same results — Trump: 36%, Cruz: 19%, Rubio: 15%, Bush: 11%. Kasich: 9% — and adds the fascinating detail that Trump is leading Cruz among evangelicals by +10 points.

Trump leading Cruz among evangelicals by 10 points. Maybe Cruz forgot that god will not be mocked.

With Cruz down with evangelicals to Trump expect the crazy time ads from cruz and vote for Cruz is a vote for god stuff to increase exponentially. We can expect a flurry of hysterical activity to be forthcoming from Cruz’s online army of paid and volunteer advocates.

With these polls can an appearance by Cruz dressed in a Jesus costume handling snakes and speaking in tongues be far behind?

How much of this I’m god stuff from Cruz can his supporters take before realizing he is dangerous.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 12, 2016 at 1:55 pm

Note that Gaghdad Bob always up-thumbs his own bullshit.

“How much of this I’m god stuff from Cruz can his supporters take before realizing he is dangerous.”

Well, none. It’s all a lie.

Next stupid, lying, bigoted Collectivist question…

So much a lie that Cruz is out today desperately trying to do damage control by giving interviews to anyone who will listen that he is not running to be pastor in chief. Could of fooled me..

God will not be mocked Teddy and Jesus is not waiting for your dominionists to take over the world.

Morning Consult released its latest national poll Friday, and the news is all good for Donald Trump, whose support jumped from 38% last week to 44% support today. That puts The Donald a full +27 points ahead of second place Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)
97%
, who enjoys 17% support, which is exactly where he sat last week.

Ben Carson and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
79%
are tied for 3rd place at 10%.

Carson jumped just +1 point since last week.

Rubio, however, lost -5 points — a third of his support.

Jeb Bush jumped from 6% to 8%. John Kasich doubled his support from 2% to 4%?

I hope Cruz doesn’t throw Heidiva beating for screwing up and revealing just a bit of truth behind the Cruz mask.

In 2005 Heidi was picked up by police because she was believed to be a danger to herself. She was picked up after reports of a woman sitting on the median of busy freeway 10ft from traffic crying with her head in her hands. It isn’t clear how she got there. It was almost like she had been forced out of a car on the median of the freeway.

#ScarryCruz

WOULD TRUMP HAVE THE GALL TO BRING UP HEIDI CRUZ’S DEPRESSION?

    […]

Would he actually say that? Would even Donald Trump think it was okay to go that far? And what does it say about Trump that we think he might?

I suspect that even he couldn’t get away with this. We’re in a confessional, post-Oprah era; we’re a long way from 1972, when George McGovern’s first running mate, Tom Eagleton, had to leave the ticket because it emerged that he’d been hospitalized for depression and undergone electroshock therapy. Times are different now. People across the political spectrum would rally to the Cruzes’ defense.

I wonder if Trump understands that.

    His minions apparently don’t.

    #ScaryGary

Except I didn’t say anything about the cover story that Heidi was depressed. I was clearly talking about how did Heidi come to be in the median of a busy freeway with no car of hers nearby.

It was like a car pulled over, she was forced out by someone, and then the car drove off.

Now I’m sure you Amy have never heard of an angry husband throwing his wife out of car onto the side of road, but it does happen.

It even happens to depressed wives at the hands of a raging husband. But I guess you would defend the raging husband by saying the depressed wife had it coming. I wouldn’t and didn’t say anything about her being depressed. I was focused on how she got there.
