Night of the iguanas

Welcome to our New Hampshire primary liveblog. We’ll be updating periodically, so be sure to refresh your browser for the latest news.

If you’re just joining us, check out our previous open thread for the shenanigans you may have missed today.

Trump and Sanders quickly declared winners. WAJ very quick assessment:

Get ready for Team Hillary to play the race card on Bernie — exploiting the tensions between white liberals and Black Lives Matter. She will pander like she’s never pandered before.

On the Republican side, too many survived for any one of them to mount an immediate challege to Trump. Chris Christie committed murder-suicide in taking down Rubio at the last debate without helping himself. Jeb will keep going because he’s so emotionally invested in it – pride comes before a fall. Politico obtained Jeb’s post-NH strategy memo – Bush plans scorched-earth attack on Kasich, Rubio. Kasich will be a one-hit wonder. Cruz is the most viable challenger to Trump.

As of just after midnight and 80% reporting, here is the count:

It doesn’t look good for Hitlary.

Bernie Sanders 57.3%
Hillary Clinton 41.6%

And a 50-50 voter split in Iowa, a huge loss in NH and what’s the delegate count?

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/latest-clinton-ground-early-nh-primary-day-36803024
Bernie Sanders will win at least 13 of the Democratic delegates in New Hampshire and Hillary Clinton will win at least nine. Two delegates haven’t yet been allocated.

In the overall race for delegates, Clinton has 394, thanks in large part to endorsements from superdelegates — party officials who can support the candidate of their choice.
    —–
In the overall race for delegates, Trump leads with 17, Cruz has 10, Marco Rubio has seven, Kasich has four and Bush has three.
    Sanders has 42 delegates.

It takes 2,382 delegates to win the Democratic nomination for president.

And the cry all across the land can be heard “oil can, oil can” as the Cruzbots begin to rust solid in place from the wash of tears covering their metal bodies.

What’s a Canadian to do?

Where can I get one of those Trump action figures?

New Hampshire’s new motto: “Free Sh*t or Die!”

Who wouldn’t love to be a fly on the wall at Camp Clinton just now? 😀

Cruzers???? Hello??? Bueller???? Bueller???? Bueller???

Here is a fun fact from Anderson Cooper:

Since 1944 every republican nominee took 1st or 2nd in New Hampshire. Nobody who finished 3rd or lower in New Hampshire has ever won the nomination.

Dare I say it ?

CHECKMATE TRUMP

    Whatever delusions help you…

    #SuckTrump

    Nice result for Trump.
Fox seems to be breaking out black bunting.

Tyrconnell in reply to Gary Britt. | February 9, 2016 at 10:13 pm

And here’s another interesting fact about 1944, it was the first time since the early Roman Empire that a hostile army had forced the Vosages from the west into Germany.

HandyGandy in reply to Gary Britt. | February 9, 2016 at 11:45 pm

I don’t go for those sort of anecdotal statisitics.
I hear that all the time in sports:
“Black QBs playing against left handed White QBs in the Superbowl have not won in the last 40 years.”
Also in court cases, ” the appeals court only hears 1% of the interlocutory appeals presented them “. They ignore the merits, and generally advance the wishful thinking of the person citing them.

Your anecdote has a little more omf but it is still an anecdote.

Throw Trumph the Insult Dog a Bone. That’ll keep his trap shut.

Lee Jan in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 7:17 am

Anderson, that was when NH was a LIVE FREE OR DIE state. Now it’s a state filled with tax and spenders from MA.

Ouch for Team Rubio Currently In 5th Place

If it weren’t for Trump, Kasitch and the Establishment RINOs would be running away with it. I still favor Cruz but I’m surely relieved that Trump is in the race.

A reporter questioned a JEB Bush voter at an exit poll tonight and when questioned she said, “I hope my son wins.”

Trump at 34% – 35% THIS IS YUUUGE.

Trump wins across the board with all income levels, all education levels, women, men, independents.

So much for the phony low info voters meme. Add it to the trash heap along with the he supports obamacare lies, he is not conservative lies.

I especially like all the whistling past the graveyard pro Cruz LI retweets above.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 9, 2016 at 9:14 pm

So it’s a sweep for the old, NE Progressives…!!!

    Meh.

Lady Penguin in reply to Ragspierre. | February 9, 2016 at 10:02 pm

Rags, don’t be disheartened. Remember, this is New England we’re talking about. The old Establishment Republicans still are alive and well in NE. And while people hammered Cruz for his “New York City” values remarks, there are regional differences. New Englanders (GOP) have always looked down their noses at the Common Man, and they always will.

NC Mountain Girl in reply to Ragspierre. | February 10, 2016 at 8:31 am

It’s New Hampshire, Rags. While the state motto may be Live Free or Die that blood has been diluted long ago. Today people there vote for big state squishes. Not only did primary voters there slobber over John McCain not once but twice, but in 2012 17% of New Hampshire voters said Jon Huntsman was their choice for president.

“Trump at 34% – 35% THIS IS YUUUGE.”

Bernie beat Trump by more than 36,000 votes. That’s YUUUUUGE.

Math and division is not your strong suit. GOP had record turnout that exceeded democrat turnout for first time in a long time. All those new voters are because of Trump.

Common Sense in reply to 2KC. | February 10, 2016 at 10:46 am

Republican vote is split among 10 candidates, while the Democrats have two candidates.

Add up the votes…… It is huuuge

Huskers4Palin | February 9, 2016 at 9:09 pm

Bernie gonna get an invite from Hillary for a party at Ft. Marcy Park…..just sayin.

I wonder if Lindsey Graham now believes the polls are real and those really are real voters in those polls.

Fox claiming that “Rubio is in a fight for 3rd place.” 10:20 pm. What BS.

Tonight Brit Hume noted the difference in candidate spending vs. the results in NH:
Trump $3.7 million
Cruz $12 M
Bush $36 M

And as of right now (10:15pm), the votes are:
Trump 34%
Cruz 12%
Bush 11%

So for Jeb! vs Trump, 10x the expenses for 1/3 the results.
Look to see if Bush’s vote totals 36k, as that would be $1k per voter. If his totals are <36K, the cost goes up from there.

NC Mountain Girl in reply to gulfbreeze. | February 10, 2016 at 10:16 am

WRONG! It was Kasich who spent #12 million in NH. Crux had low expectattions from the start because of the state’s long resistance to vote for either conservatives or Southerners and he spent little of his cash there.

Here is the spending totals in New Hampshire by the candidates and super PACS.

    Candidate Spent
    Bush $36.1m
    Christie $18.5m
    Rubio $15.2m
    Kasich $12.1m
    Clinton $10.8m
    Sanders $8.1m
    Trump $3.7m
    Graham $3.2m
    Fiorina $1.8m
    Paul $831k
    Cruz $580k
    Carson $575k
    Pataki $374k

    Total $111.9m

    Source http://morningconsult.com/briefs/campaigns-brief-how-to-watch-new-hampshire/

From the same source, here are the number of days the candidates spent campaigning in New Hampshire.

    Candidate Days
    Christie 72
    Kasich 70
    Fiorina 55
    Bush 52
    Clinton 35
    Sanders 35
    Rubio 28
    Cruz 27
    Gilmore 27
    Trump 27
    Carson 16

As with John Huntsman in 2012, Kasish obviously figured the quirky NH voters were his best chance to break out of the pack.

CBS reports that Sanders won the “woman vote”

I guess Hillary Cruz and and Jeff Roe workers couldn’t get anyone to believe them this time. Thomas Schweich must be laughing from his grave.

Well it wasn’t a total loss for Team Rubio. He got one delegate. Could have been worse.

I wonder how Hillary looks in orange?

Errp… Excuse me … Water flowing noises… toilet flushing noises.

Sorry. A picture flashed through my mind of her in some of the scenes from “Orange is the New Black”.

Well, Kemberlee, that was some train wreck for Donald Trump. Or not.

Bad news for the country and the world. Nothing helps a world on the brink of global recession more than an idiot running to lead the #1 economy ranting about a trade war.

Your lack of understanding about trade deals, negotiations and Trump besid3s being astoundingly wrong is an example of the kind of thinking that has helped destroy the middle class and republican party over the last 30 years.

Really? How would Trumph the Insult Dog fix the trade gap?

Build a wall of protectionism? Demand that other countries buy more from the U.S. by hurling insults at them? Lift his leg to pee on them? Use the power of positive eminent domain thinking?

Throw Trumph the Insult Dog a bone. That’ll keep his trap shut.

Have to disagree. We already have an idiot – and a traitor, to boot — running the #2 economy (it used to be #1 when he took it over, remember?)

If Trump or Cruz wins, we’ll be just fine.

Maybe you can get together with Radegunda and tell us who you would like to see as President.

Tee’d it up for you Amy.

If Trump wins in the same way in SC, when he goes down to Florida will he boycott the debate?

Trump is the only one who can defeat the clinton machine..
….like it or not, if ted cruz or rubio go up against hillary… hillary will crush them both, but she’ll have serious problems trying to attack trump, and more so trying to deflect attacks from trump based on all her scandals.

*lol* kasich beat cruz…. Cruz in 3rd place, he’d be in 4th… but he just barely beat Jeb bush’s 11.1% by 11.5% …that’s close enough to say Cruz are practically in 4th… and a pretty bad sign for Cruz.

Exiliado in reply to YourMaster. | February 10, 2016 at 12:14 am

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to YourMaster. | February 10, 2016 at 12:24 am

Trump’s got about 5x as many scandals as Hillary has, and they’re not all known. If Trump gets the nomination, wait ’til the Hildebeast unleashes her A team of oppo researchers on the media with their “findings”. You’ll rue the day you ever heard of humpatrump.

“Trump’s got about 5x as many scandals as Hillary has, and they’re not all known.”

Once again, you are telling us that the rest of the R candidates are just too stupid to use this “information”.

Or, maybe you’re just making shit up.

NC Mountain Girl in reply to YourMaster. | February 10, 2016 at 6:53 am

That type of thinking reminds me of the argument in 2008 when I was told only McCain could beat Hillary because the war on terror would be THE issue come November.

She wasn’t the nominee and the major issues was the economy, where McCain was in over his head.

Hillary is a Socialist.

Bernie is a Communist.

60% of NH D’s just voted for a decrepit, ancient, Stalin-loving Communist to be their nominee.

With 88% of the votes in, more than 30,000 people voted in the R primary than in the D.

R 257501 to D 226916. 13% more R voters in this “swing” state.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall in reply to Aarradin. | February 10, 2016 at 9:05 am

Republicans clearly win the intensity battle. They are breaking records with people watching their debates. They broke voter turnout records in Iowa by almost 50% (prior Republican record turnout in Iowa was 122,000 compared to over 180,000 this year). Iowa Democrats had their all time record turnout in 2008 at 239,000 and from what I can tell their turnout in 2016 was about 171,000.

If Republicans can nominate the right candidate, they may be able to win enough swing states to overcome the tilt in the electoral college that seems to favor Democrats.

On paper, this cycle should be the most conducive to nominating the most conservative candidate since Reagan. Cruz is the most gifted orator since Reagan who can sell conservatism in a general election campaign.

And yet a third of the Republican electorate are enthralled by a vulgar, statist, cronyist, authoritarian, caudillo, reality TV star who brags about buying off Democrats to advance his business interests. A recent poll of Republicans said 50% of them will not vote for Trump if he is the nominee. Best opportunity for the most conservative president since Coolidge may be lost. Tragic.

NC Mountain Girl | February 10, 2016 at 6:50 am

All tonight proves is that New Hampshire in recent decades simply loves Republicans who are Democrats flying under a flag of convenience. When you look at this lifetime of support for left wing causes, versus his current tough talk on immigration an trade, Trump is a Democrat through and through. New Hampshire is,after all,the state that just loved itself some John McCain in both the 2000 ad 2012 primaries.

Someone at Red State pointed out: Trump won the Republican primary easily, but he got his clock cleaned by Bernie to the tune of over 47,500 votes and he’s barely beating Hillary in sheer vote numbers. That’s not a small issue.

    Exiliado in reply to 2KC. | February 10, 2016 at 7:54 am

Well, “someone at Red State” should have also noticed that the Republican vote is split among 10 candidates, while the Democrats have barely two choices. If they can be called choices.

“Someone at Red State” was comparing apples and bananas, if you ask me.

Red State a bunch of desperate fools.

So did Red State fools happen to follow their own reasoning and note how Bernie beat Cruz by over 100,000 votes?

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm?

Top photo left: the look on Trumph the Insult Dog’s face. Is that the look of opioid induced constipation or moderate to severe diarrhea?

Kemberee,
I hope you will begin including the delegate distribution outcome after each primary – which is always obscured by the Establishment and media. Ex: In NH, the Democratic Primary result nets Bernie 15 delegates, Hillary 9 – but 8 delegates go “uncommitted” to the convention…Hillary 17, Bernie 15….?

NH only has 3 uncommitted Republican delegates, so not as obvious, but if you pool all the establishment delegates and the uncommitted that will be aligned at the Convention, Trump,Cruz go down. Only sunshine on the process will shame state Party elite into voting the will of their voters at their respective conventions.

Trump is on his way to the White House

TRUMP 2016

Ragspierre in reply to Common Sense. | February 10, 2016 at 11:06 am

If he wants to make another contribution to Hellary, he could just by-pass the White House. He could just send to the Clinton slush fund. Like before.

    #SuckTrump

Listen to this, when the top three drug companies in this country made $45 billion dollars in profit last year, that is an obscenity, and let me tell you something. When we make it to the White House, the pharmaceutical industry will not continue to rip-off the American people.
—Bernie Sanders

What he doesn’t say is that’s only about a 12% profit on sales, and that’s assuming his figures are true. We WANT our drug companies to be profitable. That keeps them innovating and developing new medicines that save lives and improve the standard of living for everyone.

The OTHER Progressive demagogue in New Hampshire assured a crowd at one of his rallies that the country could save $300 billion a year by making drug companies sell competitively to the Federal government.

The problem there…well ONE among several…is that the government never spent $300 billion on drugs in a year EVER.

But the same Progressive demagogue told his audience that “somebody” said that 90% of current border-crossers were ISIS types. It’s a lie, of course.

So, in New Hampshire, we have the Progressives in clear ascendancy.

Hu.

Zaaah.

Donald Trump is a conservative. Having the government negotiate for better drug prices is the promotion of competition and free enterprise which is a conservative value.

Trump quote is COUNTRY will save 300 billion he didn’t limit savings to just the federal government. If feds negotiate lower prices those lower prices will affect pricing in the rest of marketplace for drug purchases.

Trump will repeal obamacare and replace it with a system of free market increased competition initiatives.

Cruz constantly tells outright lies about Trump on the obamacare issue. Being a liar is NOT evangelical value.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 12:20 pm

“Having the government negotiate for better drug prices is the promotion of competition and free enterprise which is a conservative value.”

Showing…again…you’re an economics moron, like your little yellow god, Mr. Establishment.

Having the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT as a market-player is FASCIST ECONOMICS. It’s ANTI-conservative, and ANTI-market.

But EXACTLY what you and Duh Donald LOVES…!!!

      You Collectivist puke.

Well you made it 24 hours before the name calling and invective returns to your posts. Your vulgarity and incivility will follow as sure as night follows day.

When the federal government is a CONSUMER of a good or service, negotiating for the best price JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CONSUMER is free market participation. The government is not dictating a price to the drug companies, they are free to negotiate with the government just as they do with any CONSUMER of their products.

There is absolutely nothing fascist or improper about the government acting like any other consumer in a free market system when it is in fact a consumer.

You confuse, either because you are too Stupid or too Rabid to understand, the government acting not as a consumer in a free market with the government merely dictating prices to the free market under threat of force. The former is just FREE MARKET participation a CONSERVATIVE VALUE. The latter, which is inapplicable to the situation under discussion, is an example of the fascism you want to find under every rock.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 1:36 pm

“There is absolutely nothing fascist or improper about the government acting like any other consumer in a free market system when it is in fact a consumer.”

But, lying sack of T-rumpian sharia, THAT’s what we have at the moment.

What Duh Donald is advocating is just like what Sanders is advocating: HAVING the government DICTATE pricing.

I know you are really, really stupid, but it is a cardinal mistake to think that everyone who reads your lies is stupid.

randian in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 3:46 pm

“The government is not dictating a price to the drug companies”

Incorrect. The dictate is indirect. By law, they can’t charge private parties more than they charge the government.

Assuming what you state about the law is correct then the drug company would have to take that effect into account in deciding what price they were willing to sell to the government.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 12:21 pm

Bernie = T-rump = Bierhall Bully Britt, fascist bigot.

Ragspierre = a stupid spoiled child spout lies and nonsense, encased in moronic name calling and vulgarity all for the praise and glory of his evangelical end times loving liar of a god “can’t be trusTed Cruz”.

When the program started, Medicare officials projected that the average monthly premium would be $37; in fact, it declined to less than $24. Private health plans are securing serious discounts, benefits are generous (especially for poor seniors), and eight out of 10 seniors say they’re satisfied. Private-sector negotiators are doing a good job, and the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office doesn’t think the Medicare bureaucracy would do better.

Still, some members of Congress say that with 38 million beneficiaries enrolled, the government’s market “clout” as a pharmacy benefit manager would dwarf the private-sector managers already serving Medicare beneficiaries. That’s not the case, however. In 2004 alone, Advance PCS covered 75 million people; Medco Health Solutions covered 65 million, and Express Scripts covered 57 million.

There is, however, one big difference between the Medicare bureaucracy and the private-sector benefit managers: Medicare has no experience managing outpatient drug benefits.

***Moreover, when government officials do “negotiate” drug prices, it almost invariably means setting a price below the market level, which reduces the supply of drugs or restricts the choice of drugs patients can have. Medicaid routinely restricts access to pharmaceuticals, and the Veterans Administration, often touted as a model for federal drug pricing, also has a restrictive list of approved drugs.***

In a recent study for the National Bureau of Economic Research, Joseph Golec and John Vernon, professors of economics at the University of Connecticut, estimate that European drug price controls over the last 19 years resulted in a loss of about $5 billion in forgone R&D spending and 46 fewer medicines. They project that adoption of similar policies in the United States, the world’s major producer of pharmaceuticals, would likewise result in much greater losses of R&D investment and new medicines.
http://www.heritage.org/research/commentary/2006/12/should-medicare-negotiate-prices-no-private-insurers-are-already-getting-discounts?ac=1

You stupid, lying sack of T-rumpian sharia.

Shorter Ragspierre: The government can’t do better than the veterans administration currently does because the government says so.

But the government hasn’t been led by TRUMP before.

Right now the USA population subsidizes the drug purchases of citizens of other countries all over the world. We allow other countries to arbitrarily set drug prices, sometimes below cost, and then allow the drug companies to OVERCHARGE USA citizens for those same drugs to make up for the losses in other countries.

What we need to do is tell the drug companies that if they make a deal with country X to sell drug MiracleA at a certain price that they will not be allowed to sell MiracleA in the USA for more than X in the USA. That way the drug companies will be forced to either sell their drug at true fair price world wide without caving to other government demands OR they will only sell the drug in USA.

Trump is smart enough and savvy enough unlike you and your holy roller god to recognize these kinds of problems and find solutions to them.

Now go thump you holy roller manual somewhere else.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 1:44 pm

“What we need to do is tell the drug companies that if they make a deal with country X to sell drug MiracleA at a certain price that they will not be allowed to sell MiracleA in the USA for more than X in the USA.”

Exactly what FASCIST ECONOMICS would do. We should tell people what they can charge for all forms of goods and services. AND we should set prices for all consumer goods.

Your command economy is repugnant to conservatives, you lying Collectivist sack of T-rumpian sharia.

But it’s good to flush (and I use the term pointedly) you out in open.

T-rump is a Progressive, same as Bernie Sanders. He knows how you should be “governed”. He thinks that’s the province of BIG GOVERNMENT.

He’s told us so. All you have to do is listen.

I’ve not read all the comments before this second page, so apologize in advance if you have already answered a similar question:

Why is there a difference in the gov negotiating for drugs it purchases Vs say, national defense equipment?

randian in reply to Barry. | February 10, 2016 at 3:48 pm

“Why is there a difference in the gov negotiating for drugs it purchases Vs say, national defense equipment?”

Government price laws affect the private market for drugs but there’s no private market for most defense equipment.

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | February 10, 2016 at 1:58 pm

Try having the integrity to answer your own question.

          OK Mr Integrity,

I’ll take that as the 3 monkeys. It’s what you always do when you cannot answer a simple question.

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | February 10, 2016 at 2:11 pm

You take a lot of shit the way you want it.

You can’t answer your own question? Most people here find the answer obvious.

I don’t find you worth engaging. Not since you tried to “make a point” by trying to insist that drug sales proceeds were “wages” a few weeks back. You just aren’t honest.

In fact, you’re a TWOT (total waste of time).

“Not since you tried to “make a point” by trying to insist that drug sales proceeds were “wages” a few weeks back. You just aren’t honest.”

Drug sale proceeds are wages? I do not remember that precise comment or the context. So, perhaps since you remember it you will point me to that comment. Not saying I made no comment, just do not remember that. Clearly, wages get paid out of drug sales to workers, but otherwise I have no idea the context.

You sure spend one hell of a lot of time trash mouthing people to not answer a simple question. Seems a bit telling to me. But I will answer the question in another comment since you seem unable.

“Why is there a difference in the gov negotiating for drugs it purchases Vs say, national defense equipment?”

There is no difference. When the government makes purchases, particularly in large quantity, they routinely put out contract bids, with restrictions. It is what business’s do as well. There are certainly cases where it is done differently for a variety of reasons.

What I cannot see, is how this is not a part of the “free” market. Gov has to make purchases. Certainly we all want that to be done wisely and at the lowest cost. I’m not one that thinks the “big drug” companies are a problem. They can ask whatever price they like for a drug and refuse to sale for a lower price. The gov can decide how much they are willing to pay for a purchase and refuse to buy at a higher price.

I’m trying to find your “FASCIST ECONOMICS” in that. It is how you described it. You may have a good point to make, but so far it is has not been displayed.

I have read this thread with your comments. In one of them you state it is what we already have with respect to the government negotiating contracts. I agree, but you seem to insinuate in another comment that doing so is “fascist”.

Maybe you are responding to what Bernie would like to do and assuming that is what trump would do. I have no clue.

The government, or any business, can negotiate a contract with prices and conditions any way they like. Since you clearly know and understand this, I’m not getting your fascist comment.

So we can do it the Ragspierre way and just let the USA citizens continue to be OVERCHARGED to subsidize the fascist deals made by drug companies in other countries.

See this is an example of how clueless some mindless “pure conservatives” have become on various kinds of Trade.

They gladly ship other peoples jobs and money overseas to fascist and socialist governments because their god of purity crushes all rationality and thought.

FYI rags, I did not say the government would dictate a price to any drug company. The drug companies are free to sell their drugs for whatever price they want. Want the drug companies WOULD NOT be free to do is agree with some socialist/fascist country to sell drug MiracleA for less than cost in that country while counting on the fact they will be able to charge double, triple or 100 times that amount to USA citizens where the PURISTS make sure that USA citizens have to subsidize the drug sales in socialist/fascist countries by paying 100 times what that drug sells for in country XYZ.

That is moronic insanity Rags and it is time for it to end. It isn’t fascism or communism. It is just plain common sense that you don’t let the fascists/socialists in another country conspire with a global drug company to RIP OFF USA CITIZENS. That is what happens right now. Time to end it. So get the hell out of the way with your stupidity and lack of in-depth understanding.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 2:36 pm

“USA citizens continue to be OVERCHARGED to subsidize the fascist deals made by drug companies in other countries.”

So, of course, YOU want Duh Donald to FIX it all by fiat.

You really are OBVIOUSLY too stupid to live!

If a drug company chooses to make a life-saving drug available in a country that mandates its sale at below market rates, how is that your…or Duh Donald’s…business?

And how is it any of your…or Duh Donald’s…business what a willing buyer in America will pay?

See, you’re just a Collectivist, lying, sack of T-rumpian sharia.

I’ll fight you and your Collective with everything I have. Happily.

I think you just choose to not understand.

It isn’t the USA’s business what drug company does in Country X as long as what they are doing in Country X isn’t affecting USA.

BUT, when global drug company capitulates to demand of some fascist/socialist country to sell drug at less than cost BECAUSE global drug company knows they can cover the loss by jacking up prices to USA citizens, THAT IS WHEN IT BECOMES USA BUSINESS.

If USA protected itself, then drug company could still do whatever it wanted in Country X, it just couldn’t do it KNOWING USA CITIZENS would cover their losses in country X by paying even higher prices in USA.

Country X would also know they couldn’t get away with their demands for drug company to sell below cost in country X because the drug company would have to tell them no we can’t afford to sell to Country X at all at that price because we the drug company can no longer make it up by raising the prices paid by USA citizens.

Your purist nonsense has destroyed the middle class with its lousy trade deals over the last 30 years. Jeff Sessions gets it. He supports a USA first policy in trade. Jeff Sessions doesn’t think its stupid fascism. Jeff Sessions is correct.

Trump and Jeff Sessions get it. You, Cruz, Ryan, McConnell, and Obama, don’t get it at all.

“Trump is smart enough and savvy enough unlike you and your holy roller god to recognize these kinds of problems and find solutions to them.

Now go thump you holy roller manual somewhere else.”

See how you get all hysterical? I’m irreligious.

Unlike YOU, I don’t hypocritically claim to be a “Christian”, whey you are in fact a brownshirt bigot.

You’re a disgusting liar, bigot, and Collectivist.

The statements you quote don’t say anything about your religiousness. It is a statement of fact about your “god”. Just like you have preference for referring to Trump as my “yellow haired god”.

I don’t have yellow hair or a preference for yellow hair.

So you must be a hypocrite and a liar then.

@ Rags — Did you take a Bitter pill ? Kaisch, puts me to sleep. We also think that he is a phony in his speeches. Why do we still have all these losers on the stage at all ? The Repubs. should only have 3 or 4 left. These ” So-Called,” Debates on TV are just a chance for the Regressive Democrats to ” Diss,” them. I don’t know why the Republicans put up with this. All of these Polls don’t mean much, as proved by the 2012 Election. If not, then there was a lot of Voter Fraud involved.

Here we have what I’ve been talking about straight from the horses mouth. Steve Miller former top aide to Senator Jeff Sessions and now top policy advisor to Donald Trump (demonstrating the close ties between Mr. Trump and Senator Sessions) explains capitalism and Donald Trump !!!!!!!!!

Says Miller:

“I know the editorial board at the National Review is going into complete and total meltdown right now because…. [economic nationalism] is not the talking points that the CATO Institute gave them and the Party of Davos donors that run the National Review.” [Note they also seem to run Cruz’s and Ragspierre’s mouths as well]

Bannon asked Miller how he would respond to the accusation that Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Donald Trump’s pro-American trade agenda is “anti-capitalist.”

Miller Explained: “That presumes that capitalism and globalism are the same thing and they’re not even slightly the same thing,

Capitalism is, if it’s working properly, is an American system that keeps wealth in the United States of America. It’s not capitalism to form a deal between two countries in which the other country gets your job and gets your money and gets your manufacturing, that’s just a terrible deal. Economic nationalism is simply a term that describes keeping wealth in the United States, and it can be applied to a lot of different systems. Mr. Trump, of course, as his career proves, is a capitalist. So he’s talking about applying his skills… as a capitalist to make American wealthier, to make families in America wealthier, and to make business– small, large, [and] in-between– wealthier and most importantly to make the paychecks of blue-collar workers bigger at the end of the year.”

Trump, Miller said, is “the one candidate in either party who will be able to negotiate trade deals that bring our jobs and sovereignty back to the United States.”
Hear the interview:

“Trump, Miller said, is “the one candidate in either party who will be able to negotiate trade deals that bring our jobs and sovereignty back to the United States.”

Wull, BFD. The guy who is paid by T-rump sucks T-rump.

Imagine….!!!

Bernie has the same policy. Both are Progressives. Both are dangerous. At least Bernie is more honest and LESS a fraud.

“Capitalism is, if it’s working properly, is an American system that keeps wealth in the United States of America. It’s not capitalism to form a deal between two countries in which the other country gets your job and gets your money and gets your manufacturing, that’s just a terrible deal. Economic nationalism is simply a term that describes keeping wealth in the United States, and it can be applied to a lot of different systems.”

Again, proof that you’re a lying, economics moron and Collectivist puke, as is Duh DOnald.

IF Great Britain had had that philosophy, your “Intercontinental Railroad” would not have been built when it was.

Chinese capital would not be flowing out of China right now into the U.S.

If it’s good to ONLY trade in the U.S., why isn’t it only good to trade in Travis county, you stupid, ignorant, Collectivist puke?

When was the last time you DID NOT have a trade deficit with your grocer?

What a moron, and how dangerous a moron you and Donald Ducks are!

Your reply demonstrates your reading comprehension is ZERO which happens to match your understanding of economics.

    1. The quote you argue against is not from me it is from Jeff Sessions top staffer now with Trump Steve Miller.

    2. All it says is that SMART FAIR TRADE deals make BOTH countries wealthier, but DUMB PURIST trade deals (the ones you Cryz and Obama support) make the USA poorer while making tbe other country more wealthy.

    3. It says we need to stop doing the DUMB trade deals that make USA poorer. Naturally you being an infantile economic moron anti american puke object to these ideas supportex by Trump and Jeff Sessions.

As for the rest of your bullcrap in the post above it was good for a laugh just based on the sheer stupidity and irrelevancy expressed. I especially got a belly laugh out of the trade deficit with your grocer comment.

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 11, 2016 at 6:50 am

Well, idiots DO laugh. They laugh at everything, while understanding none.

The trade deficit was from Milton Friedman. Another guy who would spit on T-rump.

You are an ecomonics moron, like Duh Donald, and dangerous in your stupidity and love of Collectivism.

The comments containing the words “conservative”, “liberal”, “socialism” and “fascism” remind me of an earlier time:

http://louderwithcrowder.com/myth-busted-actually-yes-hitler-was-a-socialist-liberal/#.VrvOUuYUOFC

http://www.dailywire.com/news/3280/sanders-and-trump-are-same-totalitarian-candidate-ben-shapiro#pq=Si3ajT

Many Trump supporters – the ones who believe he is a transformational figure – ignore the fact that Trump won’t change the nature of government in any real way. They’re looking for a singular authoritarian solution to the problems of their lives. They believe it takes a power broker to stop the power brokers. Hand Trump the ring of government power, and watch what he can do! He may not cast it into the fiery chasm from whence it came, but he’ll use it to fight Mordor sometimes.

Sanders’ supporters also object to a corrupt government – but they think that more government is the solution. They think the government is bought and paid for by outside parties, and they want an honest socialist dictator in charge to clean house. They want a Hugo Chavez to ride in on the wind and use the power of government to punish their enemies. Sanders may proclaim that his motivating feeling is hope, but the real motivation behind his campaign is bitter jealousy and petty vengefulness.

These are the wages of big government and an unendingly powerful executive branch. Too many people gain too much by its existence to do away with it; too many people want to control the guns and the money to back a true reformer. Every four years we now pick our dictator. It’s just a question of whether that dictator does the stuff you want, or whether you’re his target.”

Yeeeeeup. T-rump and Sanders. Two old, corrupt, Progressivists. Just Collectivists, and remarkably similar.

I remember the same kinds of people all the way up to Reagan’s inauguration that he wouldn’t change government in a fundamental way, that he was crazy and would blow up the world, that he was a bigot. Exactly the same as with Trump today.

Shapiro’s characterizations of both sanders and trump supporters are just his own wholly unsupported bullshit opinions.

As for the rest of your comments just PRBS (Patent Rags BS).

Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | February 10, 2016 at 11:46 pm

As always, people can read the Shapiro piece and see the verity of it for themselves.

They’ll know you are the liar you were yesterday, today, and will be tomorrow.

Reagan would spit on T-rump and I spit on you.

    “and remarkably similar.”

You live in fantasy land if you think anyone believes that. There could hardly be a greater contrast. An ageing old hippie, declared commie socialist, that never held a job in his life Vs the son of a capitalist, a builder of large projects, very succesful as measured in a number of ways including net worth, a succesful capitalist.

You can believe trump is evil and see the difference between these two with both eyes closed and a double thick blindfold.

    Desperation is setting in.

Ragspierre in reply to Barry. | February 11, 2016 at 6:43 am

      T-rump himself said it.

T-rump himself DID it in Iowa.

Desperation, indeed. And a complete paucity of honesty.

You didn’t even have the guts to explore the facts.

http://hotair.com/archives/2016/02/10/rush-limbaugh-ted-cruz-is-the-closest-were-going-to-get-to-ronald-reagan-in-our-lifetimes/

and Mark Levin featured the Shapiro piece yesterday on his program.

So conservatives on talk radio get it…or are starting to get it. Rush can’t sit on the fence much longer.
