NY Times “can never quite find elusive answer to question why Palestinians keep murdering Jews”

Spoiler Alert – We know the answer, but you have to read to the end

The NY Times, as most of Western media, always is looking for a “reason” for the current Palestinian wave of terror that is unrelated to Palestinian responsibility. It’s always a search for a way to excuse the terror, including the knifings by Palestinian teens of Israelis, particularly targeting Israeli women.

A January 19, 2016, NYT article by Steven Erlinger typifies the genre, Anger in a Palestinian Town Feeds a Cycle of Violence

Raed Jaradat was 22, an accounting student from a well-to-do family here, already working part time with his father in his stone quarry and construction business. After Dania Ersheid, 17, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers who said she had pulled a knife at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, a version disputed by Palestinians, Mr. Jaradat wrote an angry post on Facebook: “Imagine if this were your sister!”

Stephen Flatow takes apart both the Erlinger article and the genre, Let’s play the ‘blame Israel game’ with The New York Times:

Following The New York Times’s tortured search for the reasons behind the “anger” that causes Palestinian violence is like watching an episode of “Finding Bigfoot.” Tantalizing hints, frustrating glimpses — but the solution to the mystery always seems to be just out of reach.

No matter how hard the Times tries, it can never quite find the elusive answer to the question of why Palestinians keep murdering Jews.

But just like those intrepid Bigfoot hunters, the Times won’t give up the search. It could be a reality show: “Finding Palestinian Anger.” But it might grow tiresome pretty soon because of its utter predictability: every possible answer the Times comes up with involves pointing an accusing finger at Israel.

Flatow then explodes the narrative of the Palestinians killed:

Correspondent Steven Erlanger believes he has uncovered an explosive clue: no less than 12 of the “young Palestinians killed over three months” all came from the same town, Sa’ir.

Erlanger offers details about the deaths of five of those twelve.

One was Dania Ersheid, age 17. Yes, she was killed by Israelis — after she pulled out a knife and was about to stab Israelis to death in nearby Hebron. Here Erlanger offers Times readers a first glimpse of that “Palestinian anger”: Miss Ersheid’s cousin, 22-year-old Raed Jaradat, “wrote an angry post on Facebook about her death: ‘Imagine if this were your sister!’ ”

Well, no, I can’t imagine that — in fact most normal people can’t imagine that because our sisters don’t try to stab people to death. But Raed was so “angry” about Israelis shooting back at his knife-wielding cousin that he decided to follow in her footsteps: he went to a nearby Israeli security checkpoint, “where he stabbed and seriously wounded a soldier before being shot to death himself.”

“Hours later” — Erlanger implies a connection between Raed’s death and what he is about to describe — another cousin of Raed’s, 19-year-old Iyad Jaradat, “was killed at an angry demonstration at Beit Anoun, hit in the head by a rubber-coated steel bullet.”

What Erlanger calls an “angry demonstration” is a euphemism for a mob of Arabs hurling deadly firebombs and bricks at any Jew within range.

So far, then, we have three Palestinians who were killed trying to commit murder, two of them acting out of “anger” that Israelis had defended themselves instead of allowing themselves to be murdered. The chutzpah of those Jews!

Then Flatow gives the spoiler, something was already knew but the Times and Western media never will acknowledge:

Sorry, but those explanations just don’t cut it. So long as The New York Times keeps promoting the myths of Palestinian “hopelessness,” “humiliation,” “fear,” and “occupation,” the search for the real cause of Palestinian anger will continue forever.

The way to bring this unwelcome reality show to a quick and deserving end is to face the simple truth: They murder Jews not because of anything the Jews do, but simply because — spoiler alert! — they hate Jews.

Read the whole thing, there are many other very good parts.

The part that got me the most, though, was not actually part of the article but Flatow’s bio:

Stephen M. Flatow is an attorney living in New Jersey. He is the father of Alisa Flatow who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists in April 1995 and founder of the Alisa Flatow Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Alisa Flatow’s Wikipedia Page reports:

Alisa Flatow (October 5, 1974 – April 10, 1995) was an American Jewish student who was killed in the Islamic Jihad suicide bombing known as the Kfar Darom bus attack in 1995….

She attended the Frisch School in Paramus, New Jersey and Brandeis University.[1] During the 1995 spring semester she was participating in a Jewish study program in Israel.[2] She was on her way to the beach in Gush Katif with two friends when the bus exploded.[3]

When Flatow succumbed to fatal head wounds at Soroka Medical Center, the family donated her organs to save the lives of others.[4] After doctors declared her brain dead, her father authorized the removal of her heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, pancreas and corneas.[5] Thousands of people attended the memorial service in Flatow’s honor at Congregation Ahavas Achim B’nai Jacob and David in West Orange, New Jersey.[6]

There is a lot more to this story, including Stephen Flatow’s legal battle against Iran and banks that did business with Iran. I think I need to tell that story one day.

The answer is simple. The Times doesn’t want that true simple answer to be the answer because it would have to face realty and adjust its beliefs.

People who are taught to think of themselves only as victims are capable of anything. Combine that with the inculcation of Jew-hatred and incitement to action and you get unceasing Palestinian terror.

The answer is simple: Hamas was founded for the purpose of murdering Jews. Their charter states this purpose and says that it will accomplish this purpose by teaching Muslims that they have an individual, religious duty to kill every living Jew, and re-conquer every square inch of land ever held by a “Muslim” regime. Their charter also states that no individual or governing body has the power to make peace. Entering into a peace agreement with Israel is, for Hamas, an ultra vires act, and therefore invalid. That is why the Hamas Charter must be repudiated before any legitimate negotiations can take place.

The Hamas Charter dates back to 1988. Since that time, Hamas has been teaching children within their control that they are Palestinians, and that the fate of Palestinians is not to be happy and live a good life, but to kill and be destroyed. They are well into the second generation of people raised to commit murder.

From Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_suicide_bombers_in_the_Israeli–Palestinian_conflict

In the Palestinian territories, there currently exists a “cult of martyrdom”. From a very young age children are socialized into a group consciousness that honors “martyrs”, including human bombers who have given their lives for the fight against what is perceived by Palestinians to be the unjust occupation of their lands. Young children are told stories of “martyrs”. Many young people wear necklaces venerating particular “martyrs”, posters decorate the walls of towns and rock and music videos extol the virtues of bombers. Each act of suicide terrorism is also marked by a last testament and video, which are prepared ahead of time by the “martyr” who can later reach great popularity when the video is played on television. Despite the very deep and real grief of the family and friends left behind, the funerals of “martyrs” are generally accompanied with much fanfare by community and sponsoring organization.

The schools and TV are the vehicles for Palestinian indoctrination teaching children to murder.

Why do Palestinians tend to target Israeli women, children, and older men? Because they are cowardly, murderous barbarians.

We are now a full 2 generations that have been taught–literally at birth–to hate Jews and Israel.

Very few Palestinians will ever escape it.

It isn’t just Hamas that was founded to kill Jews, these people have been indoctrinated to hate from birth for a lot longer than two generations, and by these people I don’t just mean the Palestinians.

It always helps when pursuing the elusive question of is to look at a different situation where one factor stays the same. Say, the Muslim invasions of the Hindu lands east of Persia.

Before 1000AD the mountain range between what is now Afghanistan and Pakistan had a Hindu name which now no longer matters. There were Hindu kingdoms and principalities on both sides of that range. The Muslims had suffered many humiliating defeats trying to invade those kingdoms in the centuries since since Muhammad died so in the early 1000s AD they finally invaded in overwhelming force what is now Afghanistan and slaughtered or enslaved the entire Hindu population down to the last man, woman, or child they could get their hands on.

Other invaders such as the Mongols have killed the entire populations of cities and then razed those cities to the ground, really to encourage other people in other cities in their path to surrender quickly and not to give them any trouble, but only the Muslims have ever annihilated the entire populations of entire conquered territories.

No one really knows if the name refers to the massacre that took place in Afghanistan or the hundreds of thousands of new slaves who died on the death march across them, but we now know those mountains by their Persian name, the Hindu Kush. Which means the Slaughter of the Hindus.

The Islamic State when you look at them through a historical prism are extremely Islamic, pace Imam Obama, because they’re a throwback to the “golden age” when Muslims were very proud of their slaughters of non-Muslims.

After they wiped out the Hindus of Afghanistan the Mulsims turned to the subcontinent where as a practical matter Hindus were just too numerous to wipe out entirely. Still, Muslim invaders competed to see who could build the biggest hills of Hindu skulls. If they had smart phones, I’m sure we’d still have selfies of them standing there grinning.

Over the next five and a half century the Muslims killed as many as 100 million Hindus (which provided the Hindus with lots of incentive to never give up fighting, and they never did, although they didn’t defeat the Muslim invaders until the 18th century). Mein Kampf is a popular book in Gaza, the West Bank, and other parts of the Muslim World and they love them some Hitler. But compared to the Muslims Hitler was a slacker.

Hmm. It doesn’t seem possible to blame the slaughter of 100 million Hindus, and the enslavement, subjugation, and abuse of hundreds of millions more, between the 11th and 16th century on US and Israeli “war crimes.”

Gee, I wonder what caused the Muslims to do all that?

Quran Surah 2:216

“Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.”

Surah 9:5

“And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”

Surah 9:74

“They swear by Allah that they did not say [anything against the Prophet] while they had said the word of disbelief and disbelieved after their [pretense of] Islam and planned that which they were not to attain. And they were not resentful except [for the fact] that Allah and His Messenger had enriched them of His bounty. So if they repent, it is better for them; but if they turn away, Allah will punish them with a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And there will not be for them on earth any protector or helper.”

And how is Allah going to deliver that painful punishment in this world to those who turn away from “the religion of truth,” boys and girls?

Surah 9:14

“Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people”

Yes, the why of it all is one great big inscrutable mystery.

Arminius: very interesting history insight regarding the slaughter of Hindus. BTW, it is a mystery to me why so many Indians (including their government) are so anti-Israel and pro-Pali…
Generally, Israelis have always known that Islam is the major part of Arab’s hate to Jews – you can find that in Weizmann’s & Ben Gurion’s writings since the beginning of 20 century & leaders of Yishuv earlier.
