Reports: Hillary private server may have put human spy assets at risk

Hillary private server problem just went from bad to worse

Earlier this week, Fox News reported Hillary Clinton’s emails contained information from the most secretive, classified sources. Their report was based on a letter obtained from the Intelligence Community Inspector General, Charles McCullough III.

Fox News exclusively obtained the text of the unclassified letter, sent Jan. 14 from Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III. It laid out the findings of a recent comprehensive review by intelligence agencies that identified “several dozen” additional classified emails — including specific intelligence known as “special access programs” (SAP).

That indicates a level of classification beyond even “top secret,” the label previously given to two emails found on her server, and brings even more scrutiny to the presidential candidate’s handling of the government’s closely held secrets.

Blown off as an attack by the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy, Clinton’s campaign ignored the specific accusations outlined in the OIG’s letter.

Friday afternoon, Fox News reported classified information in Hillary’s emails exposed intelligence from human spying.

According to Catherine Herridge and Pamela K. Browne of Fox News (Again, the report is long, but recommended reading. This is an excerpt):

At least one of the emails on Hillary Clinton’s private server contained extremely sensitive information identified by an intelligence agency as “HCS-O,” which is the code used for reporting on human intelligence sources in ongoing operations, according to two sources not authorized to speak on the record.

Both sources are familiar with the intelligence community inspector general’s January 14 letter to Congress, advising the Oversight committees that intelligence beyond Top Secret — known as Special Access Program (SAP) — was identified in the Clinton emails, as well the supporting documents from the affected agencies that owned the information and have final say on classification.

According to a December 2013 policy document released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence: “The HSC-0 compartment (Operations) is used to protect exceptionally fragile and unique IC (intelligence community) clandestine HUMINT operations and methods that are not intended for dissemination outside of the originating agency.”

It is not publicly known whether the information contained in the Clinton emails also revealed who the human source was, their nationality or affiliation.

Dan Maguire, former Special Operations strategic planner for Africom, told Fox News the disclosure of sensitive material impacts national security and exposes U.S. sources.

“There are people’s lives at stake. Certainly in an intel SAP, if you’re talking about sources and methods, there may be one person in the world that would have access to the type of information contained in that SAP,” he said.

It is not known what the impact was on the source, nor the findings of a damage assessment by the agency that controlled the source.

Separately, Fox News has learned that the so-called “spillage” of classified information is greater than the “several dozen” emails identified in the January 14 letter to Congress, which also acknowledged for the first time, that the Clinton emails contained intelligence beyond Top Secret, also known as Special Access Programs (SAPs).

The source said that the “several dozen” refers to the main or principal email thread identified by reviewers, not the number of times that classified information was forwarded, replied to or copied to people who did not have a “need-to-know” using unsecured communication channels — in this case a personal server. More than one Special Access Program was affected.

Complying with a court order, the Department of State is reviewing and releasing all 55,000 pages of emails Hillary turned over. The reader may remember Hillary determined which emails ought be submitted to the State Department and claims to have deleted the rest.

Friday afternoon, a government attorney filed a motion to request an extra month before releasing the next, scheduled document dump. Their reasons? They forgot other agencies needed to review the emails. Oh yes, and snow.

Sarah Westwood of the Washington Examiner writes:

State Department officials are asking for an additional month to complete a review of the final batch of Hillary Clinton’s private emails for release.

In court documents filed Friday, the State Department said it unintentionally “overlooked” the need to send a number of Clinton’s emails to other agencies for review and would need more time to complete those “consultations.”

However, the agency said the process of asking other agencies to look over more than 7,000 remaining pages of emails will be “interupted by the storm” and delayed the release of the rest of the emails until Feb. 29, a full month after a federal judge originally ordered the emails to have been posted online.

The State Department is releasing all 55,000 pages of Clinton’s emails through a Freedom of Information Act filed by Jason Leopold of Vice News. Leopold’s attorney said Friday he “vigorously opposes” the requested delay.

For those counting, Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina all have caucuses and/or primaries during the month extension requested by the State Department.

How much you want to be that in the end we discover that the Benghazi attack was coordinated in part using intelligence stolen from Hillary’s server, and that they used weapons she illegally smuggled into the country while trying to get them to the “rebels” in Syria that are now ISIS?

“Operation Zero Footprint” is the latest deal with that. Bottom line? Death of US servicemen may be directly attributed to her and if MANPADs from Lybia smuggled into US… well…. Right now just a “conspiracy theory”… too bad we will never know the full extent of this or other Hillary cover ups.

mumzieistired in reply to alaskabob. | January 22, 2016 at 6:02 pm

Not a conspiracy theory at all.

Hillary knowingly armed Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda to take out Qaddafi. That is a known fact. Many people on the ground in Libya have asserted this and there has been some reporting on it, but it hasn’t gotten traction (yet?).

What is unknown is how much Obama knew. I think he knew a lot but arranged things so that he has plausible deniability – zero fingerprints on Zero Footprint.

And there is word that the second attack – the later one at the annex – was actually done by Iran’s Quds force. This is consistent with Carter Ham’s testimony that the second attack was done by people with military training, people who had been trained to use mortars, not a pick up team like the first attack.

      It would explain a lot.

Not just Benghazi. Russia has been running rings around us in Ukraine, Baltics, Syria. China did the South China sea caper probably because they already knew US govt. deliberations on what we would do. The implications of her betrayal, for that is what it is, could be shaking the govt to its foundations.

mumzieistired in reply to Paul. | January 22, 2016 at 6:10 pm

Word is that the weapons that Hillary sent into Libya (despite a UN arms embargo) went to the Libyan “rebels” (Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda) so that they could take out Qaddafi.

The weapons that went to Syria were from Qaddafi’s stockpiles.

That’s what I have read anyway.

Hillary is in this up to her neck. And it wouldn’t surprise me if some of her e-mails were helpful to our enemies in the area.

Sounds like the plot of a John le Carré novel slowly unraveling.

The MSM has zeroed in on Gov. Snyder and the Flint, Michigan water scandal. Now that’s a real scandal! It’s worthy of weeks and months of intense scrutiny. They’re not interested in these pesky little national security mis-steps. The media will help you get your priorities in line.

alaskabob in reply to gasper. | January 22, 2016 at 4:46 pm

Who really chose to not put important chemical additives into water to avert leeching lead out of old household pipes?

I’m fairly certain that decision is not made in the governor’s office.

        Chem_Geek in reply to Paul. | January 23, 2016 at 1:38 am

Two, well maybe three words: “respondeat superior, baby!”

Flint’s water poisoning is 100% the responsibility of the 1%er MBA CEO Manager Snyder and his minion “Emergency Financial Manager.” Period, end of discussion.

          gasper in reply to Chem_Geek. | January 23, 2016 at 10:00 am

Using your reasoning, Obama is responsible for Hillary compromising our national security. He appointed her. EPA’s head was also appointed by Obama and they failed to enforce their regulations to avoid the Flint situation. They knew in April. So I guess Obama is at fault there too. That’s your logic, not mine.

gasper in reply to alaskabob. | January 22, 2016 at 10:40 pm

I think you totally missed the point.

Has it been established whether these emails were part of the 30K that Clinton turned over, or is it possible that they were recovered directly from her server by investigators (ie: Team Clinton attempted to delete them and failed)? I haven’t seen anything that addresses that question.

Henry Hawkins in reply to BlueOx. | January 22, 2016 at 5:48 pm

The FBI has stated that the server wipe was not professional and they were able to retrieve all the emails (IIRC).

Notice how the Hillary story keeps getting worse by the month?
These agents, CIA types, NSA spooks know far more than has leaked so far because the obvious elephant in the room has yet to be seen by the press.

That elephant is that Chinese, Russian, North Korea, Israeli, German, French, British, Jamaican intelligence services just didn’t read her computer files, likely they planted code to read everybody’s email she corresponded with in the federal govt. Obama and anyother person she addressed got these malware computer code to search and read their files too, perhaps even take over admin control of their computers, smart phones, tables, email servers. Her stupidity could have infected 10’s of thousands of others.

It means possibly the entire “.gov” domain computers are infected.

The spooks already know the answers too.

Someone needs to ask Hillary if she will allow Bill to live in the WH if she is elected. Bill sullied the WH, OUR WH, when he was president. Will she allow that to happen again.

Also, is it possible she wanted to have her emails available to foreign governments and that’s why she used her own server. Obama wants to destroy our country and maybe Hillary has her own way of accomplishing the same. She expected her emails to be hacked!

Saw on another site rumor is that the FBI MAY have recovered the deleted “yoga” files. Haven’t seen it anywhere else yet, hoping it turns out to be true.
We need a perp walk for Ol’ Granny Panties.

Catherine Herridge reported on Fox yesterday that the FBI was able to recover the 30,000 deleted emails

“Hey, they signed up for a dangerous job, it comes with the territory. What difference does it make?” [sarcasm off]

Egalitarianism: 55,000 pages, 55,000 days in San Quentin.

I heard Bill”s email address was [email protected]

One, Hillary wins. Her delays have carried the worst until past New Hampshire. Truly, her genius in obstructing transparency must be appreciated as unparalleled, a triumph towering over Nixon’s failures in the same field.

Two, it’s a Pyrrhic victory…

Three, I don’t buy that the Benghazi attack need have been as a result of intel lost via this method, because the Benghazi presence seems to have had such pathetic security that they didn’t need anything from Hillary’s server to begin with. It might have been of interest to Putin, but it probably had little relevance to the militias on the ground.

ConradCA in reply to JBourque. | January 22, 2016 at 7:05 pm

They needed to know that the Ambassador was going to in Benghazi far enough ahead to arrange the forces required to murder him.

Um, no. The country was awash in weapons, jihadists and crazies of all kinds. The plan could have been detailed on the back of a napkin every bit as much as the Laffer Curve. I’d guess a couple of hours’ notice was sufficient in regards to Stevens himself, but since the whole thing seems to have been coordinated with a cover story involving protests in Egypt and vague offenses against the Prophet, the bad guys had a good couple of days to work up to it with not the slightest concern Stevens would escape their grasp.

Y’all can’t see the forest for the trees here. This IG just completely undermined the integrity of the entire investigation. The only thing that matters is the now Hillary has another layer of confusion to offer her all the cover she will need to obfuscate this whole email situation away.

This particular violation was of the ‘information that was not yet been officially declassified, but released to the whole world via media like the NYT or Wikileaks’ variety. That is actually a rule, mironic as it is.

So whenever Hillary has to confront claims about top secret data on the server, she can go back to this example of a legal technicality, a loophole, wherein she forwarded third party publications that blew the cover off of these classified secrets.

The restriction against government employees viewing publicly available data that, had it not been published and freely available to every terrorist and rogue regime with even a dialup modem, would have been above your security clearance level, is moronic. Thanks to it, and including that as a violation found in the investigation, now Hillary can allude and imply that the only secrets that came and went from her email were ALL of the ‘already revealed to the world’ kind.

This gives her campaign all she needs to ‘pshaw’ all that email away as a partisan witch-hunt. The media are going dutifully report her campaigns spin, and present the right level of information to the public to pretend every violation was the same as this one: no violation in common sense.

This IG is being made out to be some GOP hack, when what he did just saved Hillary, and was intended to do just that: completely undermine the investigation by including a technical violation that is idiotic enough to confuse the general public (albeit with a wee reassurance from the media).

Watch Stephanippopotomus lead the charge this weekend.

Arminius in reply to SeanInLI. | January 24, 2016 at 6:38 am

I sorta understand what you’re trying to say, but you’re explaining it very, very badly. Because you clearly didn’t understand what your obligations were, if you you had a clearance.

No, the IC IG did not destroy the integrity of this investigation. And no, this isn’t a technical violation. It is not a moronic law. What Hillary Clinton did is a felony. Multiple felonies. It doesn’t matter if anyone else has leaked anything to anyone unauthorized to receive it such as the NYT or Wikileaks (or compromised it by sending it via unauthorized channels, such as discussing it on an unsecure phone or sending it over the internet to an unsecure server). You still can’t discuss the information with or risk exposing it to anyone who is uncleared for it because then you’re confirming it. So that means she couldn’t talk about it with Sid Blumenthal or serve it up on a plate for the convenience of Chinese or Russian hackers.

If you do what Hillary Clinton did it’s an entirely separate crime. It doesn’t matter if Eric Snowden or Bradley Manning already committed the crime. Someone else’s crime does not relieve Hillary or anyone else of their serious, legal obligation to safeguard that information.

But then, they wouldn’t have been in a position to compromise the same classified material Clinton did. Manning was arrested in May 2010, for instance. Clinton was still SecState until February 2013. So since you can’t know the content of the emails, then your idea that the IG has somehow provided cover for Clinton is ridiculous. “Already revealed to the world?” You don’t know that. You are not in a position to know that.

But it’s a non-sequitur in any case. The IG’s letter does not somehow help the Clinton campaign’s attempt’s to spin this. You can’t get to your ending point from your starting point.

No doubt the MSM and her base will buy whatever BS spin her campaign puts out. They’d vote for Hillary Clinton if she was running her campaign from her jail cell as she awaits trial.

Arminius in reply to SeanInLI. | January 24, 2016 at 6:53 am

“So whenever Hillary has to confront claims about top secret data on the server, she can go back to this example of a legal technicality, a loophole, wherein she forwarded third party publications that blew the cover off of these classified secrets.”

You’re being too clever by half. This isn’t a technicality, and you haven’t discovered a loophole.

If you have a clearance, you can’t get around your obligation to protect classified information by using “third party publications.” There are people who would play fast and loose with their obligation to protect classified information by claiming to just be discussing a newspaper article when they know damned well they’re talking about classified information. There’s a word for such people; criminals. So what if something is leaked? It doesn’t matter. If the appropriate declassification authority hasn’t declassified it, it’s still classified.

They may not have covered this when you received your clearance, if you ever had one, but leakers like Snowden and Manning aren’t appropriate declassification authorities.

How has the IG undermined the investigation? He hasnt. She can’t diismiss any of this because she wasn’t supposed to have any of this on a private server. Plus we don’t know what else has been found. I guarantee that what they have found and have not released is so much worse.
