Knife Intifada: “spasms of bloody and murderous irrationality”

From a society entering The Psychotic Stage

https://twitter.com/AJArabic/status/653938202277842944

Tuesday was another bloody day of Palestinian knifings, shootings, car rammings, and rock throwing.

Bret Stephens in The Wall Street Journal summed up the current knifings in Israel quite well, Palestine: The Psychotic Stage:

Today in Israel, Palestinians are in the midst of a campaign to knife Jews to death, one at a time. This is psychotic. It is evil. To call it anything less is to serve as an apologist, and an accomplice.

But its psychotic for a reason — generations of lies about Jews fed to Palestinians in schools, media, social media and mosques. Yaacov Lozowick, Israel’s State Archivist, explains at this personal website, This is what long-term education to hatred will do :

Palestinian society sends itself into spasms of bloody and murderous irrationality from time to time; at the moment the present case doesn’t seem the worst of them. Yet what’s striking about this time is the age of the culprits. If in the second Intifada there were hundreds of suicide muderers and would-be-murderers, most of them were young adults, and they mostly had some sort of organization behind them. Someone had to give them an explosive belt and drive them to their target inside Israel. This time many of the attackers are teenagers, some even young teenagers; and since they’re using kitchen knives, all they need is access to their mothers’ kitchens.

The pundits will pontificate on their motivations. Israel’s critics will say it’s all about the occupation. Israel’s enemeis will say it’s about Israeli brutality and general evil. The historians wil probably not have unravelled it many decades from now, and they, like the pundits, will find comfortable pat explanations.

The part that impresses me is the public atmosphere forming the minds of Palestinian teenagers. In order for significant numbers of them to be willing to be killed for the chance to stab an Israeli, they must be steeped in hatred to a degree most Western pundits can’t even recognize. Many westerners don’t even accept the reality, let alone the legitimacy, of the concept “enemy”. These young Palestinians seem unable to accept the reality, let alone the legitimacy, of their common humanity with Israelis. For this, blame their parents and grandparents and society at large.

Spend decades telling yourself, your children and your grandchildren that Jews have no legitimate reason to be here, and that now they’re here they spend their days cooking up nasty ideas about how to be cruel to Palestinians and destructive towards Islam, and eventually this is the result you’ll end up with.

This video nicely sums up how the incitement has played out:

The only good news of the day is that these terrorists set themselves on fire when mishandling molotov cocktails, rather than trapping some innocent motorist in a car or street:

Otherwise it was bloody, including this ramming and axe attack that killed a revered elderly Rabbi:

https://twitter.com/IsraelHatzolah/status/653943068140380160

And a bus was commandeered by armed terrorists, but the passengers fought back and the army stormed the bus:

Alon David’s suggestion to punish terrorists’ families will never happen, because the government’s “legal advisers” will not allow it. Terrorists will remain secure in the knowledge that their families will be looked after and will not suffer at all for their acts, and successive Israeli governments will know this and do nothing to change it, until some government summons up the balls to overthrow the rule of the “legal advisers”, and remove all the judges who imposed it and who keep it in place. Until then it is useless to talk of solutions to terror, or to any other problem. The government is not a government, it is merely a puppet of the self-selecting legal establishment, whose values do not include Judaism or zionism, or even national survival.

Ingrained over decades, there is no way to turn off the hatred and attacks even if some sort of “peace” agreement was signed such as the Oslo Accords. That is the “dirty little secret”… it won’t end, it can never end until Israel no longer exists. Whether it is an accommodation to Sharia law or the Palestinian demands, it only edges one toward , not a slippery slope, but a cataclysmic cliff. The two-state solution is only a one state solution… either Israel exists or it doesn’t.

alaskabob – there is no way to eliminate the hatred, but is a way to eliminate the attacks. The Israelis must stop occupying the Palestinian territory, they must stop allowing Israeli “settlers” to move into homes in the Palestinian Territory, they must stop treating Palestinians like dogs (note that there is no mention of the numerous killings of Palestinians that led to this most recent “intifada.” Women AND children were killed, but they do not count because Israel does not consider Palestinians to be human beings.)

Israel is an Apartheid state occupying the Palestinian Territory. Remember the Warsaw Ghetto? Look at the old photos of that ghetto and look at the bombed out remains of Gaza.

    Double check your “facts”, dude.

See how each side treats the other’s civilians who live or work in their territory.

Cross reference the “bombed out ghettos” in Palestinian territory against sites from which Palestinian rockets were launched at Israel.

See who’s chanting “Death to [opponent]” 24/7.

See which side is promoting knife attacks against the other.

See which side has been advocating hatred toward the other for the past thousand years.

    Then, come back and talk.

      What Archer said.

After over a thousand years of Muslim oppression, enslavement and murder, it would be nice to see Muslims start to take responsibility for–and eradicate–the evil in their religion.

The Israelis must stop occupying the Palestinian territory,

There is no “Palestinian territory”, so Israelis can’t be occupying it. As a matter of law, the “territories” are not part of any country. Israel has a claim to them but has not yet chosen to annex them. Instead it administers a small portion, and lets the PA administer the rest.

they must stop allowing Israeli “settlers” to move into homes in the Palestinian Territory

In other words, you want these areas to be Judenrein. Even if these areas were not the Jews’ native land, even if we were talking about some region in the Appalachians, no government woudl have the right to prevent Jews from living there. That is simply not acceptable by anybody. It’s exactly the same as decreeing that blacks can’t live somewhere. Your demand becomes even more outrageous when we consider that Judea is where Jews are from. It would be like banning Cherokees from moving into homes in Georgia.

, they must stop treating Palestinians like dogs

Since they don’t do that, they can’t stop. You are simply lying through your Nazi teeth.

there is no mention of the numerous killings of Palestinians that led to this most recent “intifada.” Women AND children were killed,

Not a single “Palestinian” has been unjustly killed. Not one. Every single Arab that the IDF has ever killed, in its entire 67-year history, was either an enemy combatant, or unavoidable collateral damage in the course of attacking an legitimate target. You cannot point to any exceptions, because there aren’t any.

Israel is an Apartheid state occupying the Palestinian Territory.

    That is a double lie.

Remember the Warsaw Ghetto? Look at the old photos of that ghetto and look at the bombed out remains of Gaza.

No target in Gaza was bombed unless it was being used as a military base from which to attack Israel. If you let people launch missiles from your home, you are their accomplice and you deserve to have your home destroyed.

Arminius in reply to zelduh. | October 14, 2015 at 2:54 pm

People like you falsely accuse Israel of being an apartheid state. Yet not a peep out of you about the genocide states of the Arab world, killing Jews and Christians.

Just why, exactly, do you expect your lies to be convincing?

The Palestinian people are victims of their leaders. They have been victims since their leaders and Arabs conspired to drive Israelis into the sea, Jordanians into the sand etc. Today, they are victims of the social activists that promote prejudice and foment hatred between the people in order to exploit political leverage.

The Palestinians are sheep, following whoever decides to rule them. They elected their current president to a four year terms over ten years ago and he remains in office; How very nice for him. Of course, it’s doubtful that the Palestinians want to live in a democracy. It’s much more likely they like having a stern ruler guiding their every day, else their lot might have changed, which it has not. Their leaders say go forth and kill and they do.

Peace, under the conditions in which the Palestinians now live, will never come, there is no place for it. Israel is facing perpetual war with a declared enemy, which pretends to ask for peace while girding for stealth war everyday. Perhaps there needs to be an all out war with a loser and winner and here’s hoping Israel is that winner But, what a damned win?

shoot until the threat is stopped

continue to shoot, until the threat is stopped….

stop the threat….

Again, the problem is not the government but the legal system. I blame the government only for not having the balls to overthrow the legal system. Israel is being lawyered to death.

Yep. I’m still amazed that some Israelis don’t recognize their enemy. Every Arab is an enemy unless they prove themselves otherwise.

I see there are some real hot-heads among the terrorists.

I’ve been to Israel. Lot of people there carry guns. My tour bus driver was packing among many others.

This is slightly off topic but I was see in the video a guy runs up and starts shooting the terrorist. Is he a civilian? Looks to be. Only mention it because the gun control people say it’s useless for people to carry guns. But, this guy was on the scene before police obviously and if he wasn’t there that guy would have hacked several people into many pieces.

Milhouse in reply to TtT. | October 13, 2015 at 11:59 pm

Israel actually has rather strict gun “control”. There are many people, particularly living in dangerous areas, who need arms for self-defense, and can’t get them. But there are a lot of people who are licensed to carry, or who are military and carrying. Tour buses that go into dangerous areas are required to have an armed guard.

Well I saw a lot of gun carrying people. Still don’t know if the guy in the video was police / military or what. Either way, seems to be a good example of a person on the scene versus waiting for police.

Per the reportage:

“The violence shows little sign of letting up.”

Why, it seems the violence has a mind of its own.

No human agents required.

I’d be curious to see how this disembodied violence was holding up after a few days of round the clock naval and air bombardment.

smalltownoklahoman | October 14, 2015 at 7:46 am

The real source of all this violence is right there in the Koran itself and the rabid hatred for the Jewish people that’s been around since the days of Mohammed himself. I’m loath to say it but I’m beginning to think that the only way Israel might achieve peace is actual conquest and then doing something which many people would find abhorrent. That would be denying the Palestinians the right to practice Islam as their faith of choice for as long as Islam teaches such radical hatred for and violence towards anyone not of their faith.

God I feel like I’m betraying the first amendment just by saying that! Unfortunately I really believe there’s not much hope for any real lasting peace for Israel until something is done to really address that issue of hatred that the Palestinians are raised in and live with in regards to Israel and it’s people.

The first amendment to the US constitution doesn’t apply to Israel. But no, suppression of Islam is not necessary. What had to be done 50 years ago was to ensure that the Arab schools, which were under Israeli control, did not teach antisemitic lies as history. Israeli censors should have made sure the textbooks were accurate and not antisemitic, and monitored classes to make sure that teachers were not deviating from the text to indoctrinate children with antisemitism. But they didn’t do that. Even after the Oslo accords required that Arab schools stop teaching antisemitism, Israel never enforced that requirement, and the Arabs ignored it. Now we have a situation where several generations have been taught from childhood a false version of history, and genuinely believe Jews to be the vampires they’ve always been told we were. Imagine what Germans would be like, if for 50 years Nazi propaganda had been taught as fact. Imagine what you would be like, if you’d been taught this stuff as fact, and never been given any reason to question it.

What to do now? It’s probably too late to take over the schools; the children just won’t go. What we have is a vicious dangerous culture that needs to be destroyed. The methods will have to be harsh, but there is no other choice. Arab children must be taken from their parents and forced to attend deprogramming schools, where they are taught the truth. Maybe that won’t work, but anything else will certainly not work. Unless someone has any better ideas.

Clinger in reply to Milhouse. | October 14, 2015 at 11:50 am

I vote for Crusades, rev. 2.

If this is not the answer, tell me what is?

Islam will never stop. We must destroy it, and all followers of the evil cult.

Milhouse in reply to Clinger. | October 14, 2015 at 1:27 pm

Oy vey. You want to replace one set of vicious murderers with another equally bad set, or even worse?! No thanks. I’d rather have the disease than your cure.

The First Amendment covers belief, speech, and most of all, debate. It does not protect violence against persons or property.

Human sacrifice is not a protected exercise of religion, even if one follows a god or gods that demand it.

Milhouse in reply to Voyager. | October 15, 2015 at 11:59 pm

Yes, but violence is already illegal. You are replying to a proposal to ban Islam, so the distinction you draw is irrelevant.
