Elizabeth Warren Slammed on Morning Joe for Planned Parenthood Hypocrisy

“Stop insulting our intelligence.”

On Monday, Elizabeth Warren took to the senate floor and made a series of bizarre accusations about the awful series of Planned Parenthood videos. Senator Warren apparently believes this is all part of a vast right-wing conspiracy to take away women’s rights.

Maybe progressives should find a different politician to clone.

MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough called Warren out for hypocrisy and for suggesting that anyone who objects to the horror contained in the Planned Parenthood videos is against women’s rights.

Even the left-leaning Huffington Post took notice:

Morning Joe To Elizabeth Warren: ‘Stop Insulting Our Intelligence’

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on Tuesday slammed Sen. Elizabeth Warren, accusing the Massachusetts Democrat of conflating support for women’s rights with support for Planned Parenthood.

“You can be against the funding of Planned Parenthood without being against the support of women’s health,” Scarborough said. “Nice try, Elizabeth Warren.”

Planned Parenthood is currently embroiled in controversy over highly edited videos purportedly showing a senior staffer at the organization speaking openly about selling fetal body parts. Warren took to the floor of the Senate Monday, where Republicans proposed a bill that would stop all federal funding to the health care organization.

“The Republican scheme to defund Planned Parenthood is not some surprised response to a highly edited video,” Warren said. “Nope, it’s just one more piece of deliberate, methodical, orchestrated right-wing attack on women’s rights.”

Scarborough was having none of it, though.

“For Elizabeth Warren to try to conflate the right of a woman to choose with the horrors and the callousness and the grotesqueness of what was discussed over lunch [in the video] is really unfortunate,” he said Tuesday on Morning Joe.

Notice how the Huffington Post writer referred to the videos as “highly edited.” This is one of the left’s favorite talking points, even though the videos have been released in their entirety.

A distressing number of liberals still see women as nothing more than a collection of #ladyparts.

Undiagnosed and untreated heart disease is a way bigger killer of American women than anything to do with hoo-haa or boobies… anyone truly concerned about women’s health issues would be hammering this point.

The “highly edited” dodge is nonsensical.

Would it somehow be less horrifying to hear these PP doctors talking about harvesting organs from babies (and which parts of the babies’ torsos were best to “crunch” in order not to damage those valuable organs as they’re killing the babies) if the tapes also included the parts of the conversation where the doctors were talking about the weather, or their salad dressing, or a funny movie they saw last week?

The fact that the tapes were edited to remove irrelevant content is meaningless — especially when the entire tapes were released simultaneously with the edited tapes. The edited tapes show the doctors saying exactly what they said; there was no deliberately deceptive editing done to try and make the words appear more damning than they are by, for example, cutting out parts of the conversation in order to take the words out of context and make them appear to have a different meaning. That’s what NBC editors did to the police dispatch tape of the phone call George Zimmerman made. They cut out the part of the conversation where the dispatcher asks Zimmerman if he can determine what race the suspect is; NBC cut that part out deliberately to make it look as if Zimmerman was focused on the suspect’s race all along, rather than simply responding to the question asked by the dispatcher.

The “highly edited” BS is just another case of classic projection by the left. Because they deceptively edit tapes in an effort to slander and defame others, they assume that everybody else must do so as well.

Of course, every broadcast news program…including radio…is “highly edited”.

Every sound bite, every video clip they present comes out of the exact same process.

So, as Molly Hemingway suggests, we need to start saying, “Highly edited” in connection with every news piece out there.

Midwest Rhino in reply to Observer. | August 5, 2015 at 11:37 am

Good points … but “just another case of classic projection by the left”

They certainly do that a lot, but in this “highly edited” case it is just the only dodge they have. It’s a blatant lie that “highly edited” changes the gruesome content, but they hope they’ll keep a few LIVs from watching. Any that want to maintain an ounce of integrity go with the “it’s disturbing … but … ” line of defense/misdirection.

      It’s a long-shot, but I’m hoping for a full-on “Streisand Effect”.

I’m hoping that all this focus on “highly-edited” and subsequent dismissal of the full videos will cause curious people to seek out and view the full videos. Maybe they’ll be looking for the context that makes the inflammatory comments less offensive, or maybe they’ll be checking on the rumors that the full videos are even worse than the “highly-edited” versions.

It really doesn’t matter; either way, more people seeing the videos is exactly what the “progressive” Left does not want to happen.

Hey, I can dream, right? 😉

“Would it somehow be less horrifying to hear these PP doctors talking about harvesting organs from babies”

    They’re not babies, they’re fetuses.
To describe something not as it is, but as it will become, is disingenuous. Like calling you a corpse now, because eventually you will become one.

And if a woman WANTS to have an abortion, and has one, do you want to see the aborted fetus tossed in the trash, or saved for medical research? Isn’t it WAY more beneficial to society to use fetal tissue/organs then dispose of it in some trash bin?

Fetal tissue is excellent medical material. The more of it available for medical research the better! Anyone who doesn’t applaud the far reaching benefits to humanity from the use of saved fetal tissues cells has their head up their ass. MILLIONS of lives have been saved as a result of the biomedical research derived from it: starting with the polio vaccine in the 1960s, a vaccine which continue to prevent an average of 500,000 cases a year of that crippling disease!

Presently fetal tissue is used in the manufacture of numerous vaccines: for diseases like Rubella (German measles), and hepatitis, and chicken pox, and rabies. And for present research in stem cell transplantation. And to prevent Parkinson’s and Huntington’s degenerative diseases. And retinitis pigmentosa – a disease the blinds people. And also as a possible cure for senility – hopefully we see results for that soon, so it can be used to treat the morons on the Right, and equally idiotic counterparts on the Left – We’d be way better off without both of them.

All of the rabid ‘pro-lifers’ should therefore take the moral high-ground going forward – and refuse to allow themselves or their children or grandchildren to use ANY vaccines or treatments, past or present, developed as a result of fetus tissue research. Get out there with your signs and puffed up indignation, and picket your local drug stores and pharmacies and labs – and protest Dead Baby Medicines!!!!

What they are, you lying POS, is unborn human beings.

Research using DONATED fetal tissue is NOT illegal.

      Selling HUMAN organs IS.

Manipulating an abortion procedure to produce “products” IS.

I could go on, but you’re too disgusting to deal with. I may be induced to later.

      You lying SOS.

        jayjerome66 in reply to Ragspierre. | August 5, 2015 at 7:32 pm

“What they are is unborn human beings.”

Or womb-vampires, depending on your perspective.

ALL of the fetal issue obtained through PP was DONATED you lame brain. Patients have to sign a consent form, you dope. Do you have any proof abortion candidates were manipulated to sign those consent forms? Or as usual, are you blowing distortions of illegality out of you anal canal?

And selling human organs for a profit is ILLEGAL; but providers are legally entitled to “reasonable” fees to cover the group’s costs for donating the tissue. You have any proof PP’s fees for recovering, preserving, packing and shipping are unreasonable? The undercover tape has Deborah Nucatola, the PP senior director, quoting fees in the $30 to $100 range. Only a dick-brain like you would see that as a profit incentive.

And anti-abortion hypocrite that you are, you don’t give a rat’s ass if research tissue is donated about legal

          Oh, dear…!!!

Did your slobber short out your keyboard?

What a disgusting excuse for a human being. I won’t even bother.

But the answers to your questions “We’re about to”, “Ever hear of an adhesion contract?”, and “We’re about to, watch and see, you disgusting POS.”

      meyou in reply to jayjerome66. | August 6, 2015 at 2:19 pm

Gee, JJ, how did scientists around the world EVER conduct research before legalized abortion?? You guys dingdonged and demanded fetal stem cell be accepted, remember? If you look up the value of stem-cells, you’ll see all of the medical advances have come ADULT stem cells, not fetal. I’ll pray for you lost, lonely people.

‘Women’s Health’ is FAR more than aborting unwanted babies. Carly Fiorina, who suffered through breast cancer, underwent a double mastectomy and never bore any children of her own, is the prime example. Aunt Margaret’s Fetal Harvesting and Eugenics Farm doesn’t have mammography equipment and can barely provide basic OB/GYN treatment (other than killing and then harvesting a baby).

And even so, breast cancer is not woman’s biggest foe. Every year, almost $675 million is spent on breast cancer research in the U.S., compared with about $173 million on research about women’s heart disease, which kills five times as many women as breast cancer annually. Far more women than men die of cardiovascular disease.

We have to get away from the knee-jerk thinking that “women’s health” = “hoo-haas and boobies.”

Warren also implied that without Federal money, Planned Abortionhood would simply cease to exist. That’s not necessarily true. But it’s the same excuse Collectivists give for the continued funding of any of their organelles, like PBS.

Next Warren outright said that without Planned Abortionhood, there would be no place for women to go to get health services. Which is a lie. It’s like saying that if the Piggly Wiggly goes out of business, there will be no place to buy groceries.

But she knows her base. And they are stooooOOOOOOOoooopid.

Hers is the same base that thinks that if the government doesn’t force your boss to buy your birth control pills for you, why that’s the same as “banning birth control.” Because, you’re right: they’re stupid.

Midwest Rhino in reply to Ragspierre. | August 5, 2015 at 11:49 am

Plus there is the “multiplier effect”, where they enrage a leftist LIV over being oppressed/insulted (in their inner psychodrama hysteria) by those evil conservatives, so the outraged and furious make the noise of a thousand. They “weaponize” their ignorant with hate, a la Orwell’s “1984”. The next step is “give them room to riot”.

First Chris Matthews and now Joe behaving like journalists at least for a moment. What’s up?

    MaggotAtBroadAndWall in reply to TX-rifraph. | August 5, 2015 at 10:24 am

They have been hemorrhaging viewers. The market is forcing them to change, so management is responding. Three shows were cancelled last week.

The titular Morning Filth and Softball with Chris Zombie anchors are trying desperately to save some semblance of a “journalist” career.

It WILL fail, because while the public is a group of sheep, they’re not so stupid as to forget their own Progressive hypocrisy.

Further, my guess is that good ole Joe is in the tank for Hillary, and is (gently) trying to damage the Warren brand with Democrat voters who WOULD vote for Warren if Sanders were to drop out (or if Sanders were to shrewdly name Warren as his preferred VP Candidate).

Professor Liz is practicing moral bankruptcy, a subject she aced to further her career path.

Liz’s Wikipedia “Religion” denomination states “United Methodist” which must be code for dismembered babies.

    nordic_prince in reply to jennifer a johnson. | August 5, 2015 at 10:35 am

Well, more often than not, it’s code for “liberal” ~

I agree, nordic…there are a number of Left-Wing churches nowadays: United Methodist, Church of Christ, Universalists, Presbyterian USA. Not sure who their god is, but I know it’s not my God–by their fruits they are known.

It’s like saying the famous Zapruder film DOESN’T show John F. Kennedy being shot in the head while traveling in a motorcade with his wife because Life magazine chose to publish only 30 frames out of the 486 that Zapruder took.

In other words, Elizabeth Warren’s argument about the edited Planned Parenthood video being misleading is just, plain idiotic.

First paragraph is my “comment of the day”, and I am stealing it.

Midwest Rhino in reply to JPL17. | August 5, 2015 at 11:58 am

Elizabeth’s “Warren Report” would have concluded the JFK is not really dead, rather than that “lone wolf terrorist” Oswald did it. There was no cold war, lefty Lizzie would tell us, from her Marxist perch.

Just so you know, Warren did this because there is an audience for it.

The answer to Warren’s facetious challenge to Republicans about what year it is should have been:

Yes we do know what the heck year it is!!!

In the year 2015:
– We now know a 4 week old fetus is not a mass of cells, but has a heart beat.
– We now know that a pre-born child can feel pain and terror when the uterus is invaded by a scalpel, forceps, scissors, suction!
– Now we know a fetus responds to events outside the uterus, and recognizes and responds to his or her mothers and father’s voices.
– We know an baby in the uterus is a separate person with different DNA and blood type than the mother.
– We know that this unborn infant is a unique human being that never has and will never grace the earth again.

jayjerome66 in reply to Uncle Samuel. | August 5, 2015 at 3:30 pm

Hay, Sam, you need to add an audio file of a violin playing sad music to this post. And maybe an animated video of a Pinocchio like figure wringing it’s cartoon hands in anguish.

Keep in mind that a chicken embryo at Day Six also has a developed blood supply, and it’s heartbeat is loud enough to hear with a stethoscope. And the cute unborn chicks share more than half the same unique DNA as humans. Therefore no two chickens are alike, so lets force people to stop eating scrambled eggs, a hideous affront to their baby chicken uniqueness in the universe!

    Protect the unborn chicks!

      Ragspierre in reply to jayjerome66. | August 5, 2015 at 3:44 pm

We all understand that saving unborn chickens is near and dear to your heart.

After all, it promotes your dating prospects.

      Ya moron.

Leftist educators allowed to run our schools are creating ‘highly edited’ minds – minds which are absent from debate.

Midwest Rhino in reply to TheFineReport.com. | August 5, 2015 at 12:02 pm

Right … the public school teaching that America is an evil empire is “highly edited” by leftists and America haters, who have infiltrated our schools and inserted their dogma.

If women now have insurance, thanks to Obamacare, then why do they need Planned Parenthood? They can go to their LMD and get the same care. So why are we paying for duplicate service??? Are the Dems saying that women are too stupid to go to a doctor and have to have government services??

To the “progressive” Left, “Duplicate Service” = “Choice”.

And “choice”, as we all know, is a Right of Women.

    [snark]

As a man, I’m somewhat offended by the disparity. Planned Parenthood doesn’t have a male-friendly counter-part for “men’s health” issues, so I don’t have a choice. I’m forced to go to my LMD/GP and get a referral to a “men’s health” specialist. This “referral” step is something women can do, but often don’t have to, with the proliferation of “women’s health” clinics.

I demand Title IX equality! I demand an equal number and availability of clinics specializing in “men’s health” as there are for “women’s health”, and I demand they receive equal funding from the fed.gov! If a woman doesn’t have to wait for a “referral” from a LMD/GP, then a man shouldn’t have to, either!

    [/snark]

    😉

Considering some of the recent comments on Morning Joe, how long before MSNBC forces it over to Fox.

One of the things I’m looking forward to is the flood of lawsuits that’s coming against Planned Abortionhood.

Apparently, they’ve exposed a LOT of victims to a MUCH more prolonged and painful process than was necessary, in pursuit of “products” for their very lucrative sideline.

Those will be SAAAAA-WHEATTT.

Henry Hawkins in reply to Ragspierre. | August 5, 2015 at 5:18 pm

That’s the silent backlash – how many woman who’ve had abortions at PP are only now learning they cut it up and sold it off in parts for a profit?
That must be a further heartbreak for most.
