Media Matters honcho behind #StopRush effort accused of offensive writings

Will Media Matters treat one of its own executives by the same standard it imposes on others?

http://youtu.be/Gbom31wLgm0

Angelo Carusone is the Media Matters executive behind the effort to get Rush Limbaugh off the airwaves, as we documented in 2012:

The attack on Limbaugh was not Carusone’s first targeting of a major conservative personality.  Carusone, prior to joining Media Matters, was behind the Stop Beck effort.

Angelo Carusone Twitter Profile

As reported at The Daily Caller today, Carusone may have some problems with a prior blog he maintained in which he engaged in questionable conduct, Media Matters Executive Wrote Racist, Anti-Semitic, Anti-’Tranny’ Blog Posts:

A top executive at Media Matters for America and the principal activist in the “Stop Rush” campaign made racist and anti-Semitic comments and disparaged “trannies” on a dormant blog that he wrote just several years prior to his prominent liberal activism career.

Blog entries reviewed by The Daily Caller show that Angelo Carusone made derogatory remarks about ethnic groups and used language to insult “trannies” and ugly “gays” that would be considered hate speech by his own organization.

The Daily Caller has the details on the posts.

I reached out to Carusone and Media Matters via Twitter, and Media Matters via email, seeking comment, but so far no responses.

Will Media Matter treat Carusone the same way it would had the blog entries been written by a conservative media figure or activists?

So where’s the beef?

Meaning what exactly did he say that was ‘offensive?’

And how long ago was the blog discontinued?

Innuendo wrapped in unconfirmed rumor. Nice reportage, Bill.

Recall that from the Left-perspective, something that Mitt Romney did in college was considered anti-gay behavior for the 2012 presidential election. Consider too, that a supposed “desertion” by G.W. Bush, although quickly proven a hoax, was also somehow germane.

The Left wrote the rules, now they reap the consequences. The Left hates being hoisted on its own petard.

Your certainly give credence the ‘stupid is as stupid does’ meme.

I did read the Daily Caller ‘details’ – which are details out of context. They provided a link to the blog referenced — did you bother to read that, or as usual let mental laziness distort your limited ability to reason out information in context.

Go check it our now, and you’ll see that Carusone is gay and was writing a gay blog, and the ‘derogatory’ and ‘antisemitic’ remarks he supposedly made were the typical ‘bitchy’ observations common to that venue.

His so-called anti-Jewish remark was a barb at his homosexual boyfriend, calling him ‘adorable despite his ‘Jewry.’ Wow, the Anti-Defamation League must be steaming!!!

In another entry he described his ‘Jewish boyfriend ‘as evil as Dick Chaney.’ Do you find that troublesome? At the time he wrote that Carusone was a registered log-cabin Republican. He gave high marks to Antonin Scalia, who he thought brilliant and absolutely hilarious; and to Condolisa Rice, who was sassy, smart, and he liked her politics; and to John McCain – so good he doesn’t even need to say anything else abouat him. Same for Reagan, who it was impossible to exclude from any top 10 list of politicians. He even thought Nixon was great – aside from the scandal.

How come The Daily Caller didn’t point that out as a sinful incongruity for a MediaMatters writer? Of course the real hypocrisy from conservative nitwits like you who applaud The Daily Caller for pointing out the double-standard of MediaMatters publishing Carusone’s blogging ‘hate speech’ is the even worse double-standard of allowing their reporter Patrick Howley assert it was hate speech at all, considering his own complicity in producing it himself.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. In recent posts and twitters and articles Howley has made numerous disparaging anti-gay, anti-Islamic, anti-feminist, and anti-senior citizen comments of one kind or another — some requiring his employer to remove them from public scrutiny. Included among his verbal in-sensitivities were suggestive and disparaging anti-lesbian remarks about Ellen Page, and the ‘GOP masturbating’ about her; remarking that gay people were ‘totally boring’ – even a bad taste reference to ‘older balding, beady-eyed middle-aged men in sweaters.’ Then there was a disparaging sexist Twitter about the undesirability of having sex with a BuzzFeed female writer. And also the ridicule of a Saturday Night Live producer for hiring ‘an unfunny black woman, and making vaguely anti-Islamic fun of her name.

These are the Vultures of the Left and the Piranhas of the Right, doing their normal job of screwing up reality. My view of you and yours has not changed; the Loser Left and the Ridiculous Right are tearing up my country. You’re all guilty of the same excesses of stupidity and distortion. And you, a Poster Boy of the Nonsensical Nitwit-ism plaguing the nation.

Wait, Carusone has excuses for his hate speech? Oh! Well then! Never mind!

jayjerome66 in reply to Henry Hawkins. | October 8, 2014 at 12:58 pm

Henry, you used to be more astute.

There wasn’t any hate speech, only allegations of it that proved untrue, from a dopy reporter guilty of it himself. This was a case of a Republican idiot making unfounded statements about a Democratic idiot – and now more idiots here siding with the Republican idiot, rather then denouncing both.

You should be denouncing idiocy from both extremes, and not siding with one brand of it, because that idiocy will rub off on you – take the grumbling simpleton Ragspierre for proof. You need to get back to your objective roots and quit being a rubber stamp for political imbecility.

Oh gee, how will I sleep tonight without your approval?

You can always tell a punk liberal – they always have problems and the answer is always someone else changing their behaviors.

So. I guess I hit a nerve, huh…??? Sorry, honey. Suck it up. Or suck on it. Either or. Cool with me.

Spiny Norman in reply to jayjerome66. | October 7, 2014 at 3:27 pm

The gist of your long-winded melodrama is that the Daily Caller is “hypocritical” for calling out Media Matters’ hypocrisy, and Professor Jacobson is “a Poster Boy of the Nonsensical Nitwit-ism plaguing the nation” for documenting that MM and Carusone have a history in this regard.

You fainting couch gets quite a workout, doesn’t it?

        Ragspierre in reply to jayjerome66. | October 7, 2014 at 3:54 pm

Huh. So queers are exempt from critiques based on their bigotry?

        Glad you cleared that up.

          Did you read that thing?

Hope he bought the kind with lotion or aloe added. Seemed like a real nose-chafe of a cry.

Isn’t “Innuendo wrapped in unconfirmed rumor” what the Progressive Marxist-Leninists hypocrites do to Conservatives all the time? Time for a little equity.

Unfortunately the answer to the question posed is a resounding “NO.” The hypocrites at Media Mutters and the Progressive Leftists won’t be treating Carusone with the utter contempt that he deserves. That, while just, would be damaging to the advancement of a Progressive Socialist agenda.

“Isn’t “Innuendo wrapped in unconfirmed rumor” what the Progressive Marxist-Leninists hypocrites do to Conservatives all the time?”

Yes. And it’s what the Regressive Anal Republican hypocrites do to Democrats all the time too.

You need to reject both of them, and be a real American: independent, objective, and not a drudge parroting one side or the other in dumb obedience.

I see the need for a #StopAngeloCarusone movement!

Or, better yet, a #StopSoros movement.

What exactly was Carusone’s objection to Rush, or to Beck? Was it that Rush, and Beck, espoused views differing from Carusone’s? Was it that Rush, and Beck, did not accept Carusone’s political treatise?

If it was simply a disagreement between differing political views, Golly Gee, maybe Carusone is correct and someone’s “figurative” head should roll.

My vote would be to silence Carusone’s voice since obviously he does not allow dissent from his views upon his perch on Mt Olympus. OTH: Carusone is typical of a member of the Hive, just another worker ant serving his master.

“Will Media Matter treat Carusone the same way it would had the blog entries been written by a conservative media figure or activists?”

That’s just crazy talk!

He’s got religion now and is immune from all sins – past, present, and future – as long as he abides by the tenants, to wit;

No Leftist can ever do any wrong, no matter how despicable

No Rightist can ever do any good, no matter how virtuous

Henry Hawkins | October 7, 2014 at 1:53 pm

Kettle, meet pot.

So that’s why he hates Rush and Beck – they are both outspoken opponents of racism and (especially) anti-Semitism. Or to put another way, they are both good Americans.

Henry Hawkins | October 7, 2014 at 2:15 pm

He may be a mercenary political operative chasing the money and pretending beliefs and positions, an anarchist renting himself out. If he can go from racist anti-semite to that ultimate in poitical correctness -Media Matters -it speaks of sociopathic activism. Then again, people change.

No matter what his story, he’s a political hack, pure and simple.

Rush, Beck and others need to turn the tables on these parasites and eradicate them while exposing Soros the money wizard behind the curtain who pulls the strings on these sick political puppets.

Virtually all white upper-middle class leftists are racists, far worse than the most obnoxious redneck you will ever meet. They are just usually careful not to say it. Leftists just love their “nuances.”

– –

Some years ago, I met a black man who had been born and raised in my small rural Southern community but spent his adult life in New York City until he retired and came home to give his children what he considered a better environment. I asked him if there was a culture shock on racial attitudes in coming home.

“Down here, I know where a man stands within 30 seconds of conversation, it’s just obvious one way or the other. In New York, they will slap you on the back, maybe even take you to lunch – but you still don’t get the job.”

SUE!
