As far as I know, all juries are subjected to a voir dire process.

In many Federal courts, the process is conducted by the judge, often with some input from the counsel from the parties. Rarely does a Federal judge allow a whole questionnaire from a party.

In Texas, attorneys generally voir dire the venire panel, as directed by the judge.

From what I understand Jury questionnaires are generally used at all in this type of proceeding. So the Defense was trying to get the Judge to approve a questionnaire just for this trial and that motion was denied, so all of the Jury will be chosen voir dire.

I’m confused about something. Why can’t the defense see trhe jury questionnares? Does that significantly hinder voir dire?
