Are you ready for Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren?

Are you ready for Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren?

You better at least get ready.

There’s a buzz being fed. Warren gave a speech to the AFL-CIO today, and the “draft Warren” talk is starting.

There is no bigger or better demagogue in American politics. No one is as keyed into the politics of victimhood as she is.

The former law professor also will demagogue and run against the Supreme Court:

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka denounced the United States Supreme Court on Sunday as a right-wing panel that serves the interests of corporate America, previewing a theme that is likely to rise in prominence with the approach of the 2016 election.

On the opening day of the AFL-CIO’s convention, Warren – the highest-profile national Democrat to address the gathering here – warned attendees of a “corporate capture of the federal courts.” …

Warren’s reception in Los Angeles also underscored her core appeal to the progressive base of the Democratic Party. Her entrance into the convention hall was greeted was effusive applause; Trumka hailed her as “an honest-to-God champion, the real deal” and a senator who stands up to “billion-dollar corporations and Wall Street on behalf of working people.”

And indeed, the former Harvard Law professor’s speech was a populist paean to the role of labor in fighting “powerful interests [that] have tried to capture Washington and rig the system in their favor.”

I’m beginning to think Warren will run even if Hillary also runs. I never thought that before, but I’m coming around to that view.

We’ll be there. Reminding people of what she has worked so hard to have people forget.

And six months later we will be seeing billboards with a picture of Obama captioned, “Miss me yet?”.

If she’s Native American/American Indian is she legally an American citizen?

MouseTheLuckyDog in reply to MouseTheLuckyDog. | September 8, 2013 at 8:26 pm

Sorry. I meant a natural born American citizen?

William A. Jacobson in reply to MouseTheLuckyDog. | September 8, 2013 at 8:46 pm

Actually, that’s a very interesting legal question! Fortunately, I won’t have to deal with it because she’s not Native American, not even 1/32.

Yes, but you may have to deal with it if Hillary becomes unelectable if any of the Benghazi scandal sticks.

Well, we are sort of prepared as we currently have a fake president…

There is currently a big interstate feud going on between South Carolina and Okalhoma about the fate of a little girl who was adopted as 3/256 Cherokee, her 3/128 Cherokee father who relinquished his parental rights insists on taking her back because Native American.

The Cherokee identify and claim those with as little as 3/256, apparently. So Warren can’t even be that much.

Cute. But the answer is yes. Even if she WAS Native American, she would still be a “natural born citizen.”

Native Americans are covered by the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924: “BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and house of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That all non citizen Indians born within the territorial limits of the United States be, and they are hereby, declared to be citizens of the United States: Provided That the granting of such citizenship shall not in any manner impair or otherwise affect the right of any Indian to tribal or other property. (Approved June 2, 1924)”

Chuck, Declaring them citizens does NOT entitle them to “Natural Born” status. It is a declaratory action that protects their property. With that said, I would agree that they have Natural Born citizen status for other reasons. But the 1924 law is not one of them.

Seeing that she graduated from Rutgers Law which was ranked something like 187 or so, she’ll no doubt resonate with the low-info dopes and morons.

What could possibly be better for a voting public that is utterly ignorant of basic civics than to fall in line behind a woman who rose to prominence based upon a utterly fabricated resume to a position that she was not qualified to hold.

What’s more, she is not even admitted to the bar in the state where she resides and teaches law.

A shameless liar is the perfect candidate for those whose entire premise of America is a falsehood.

She was stuffed down the throat of a pathetic populace in Massachusetts (where I live) as a senatorial candidate with exactly zero experience as an elected servant of the people. I still shake my head in utter disbelief that she succeeded. Even my local state senator, the president of the state senate, would have made an infinitely better candidate than Warren.

I have met her once as her husband was once a customer of mine. I drew no impression of her at all. Her husband, Bruce Mann, is a delightful man to speak with. I may not agree with any or all of his politics, but he was a very good customer.

We have a Dictator-in-Chief now, the economy sucks, and the whole damn world seems to trying to explode with violence and now you want us to think about another whacko in the White House?
——————————-
Hold on a sec…I hear someone screaming loudly “DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO REMIND US?”
——————————-
Never mind….I know that voice….it was me. 🙁
——————————-
OK, I’m calmed down now and ready….sob, sob, sniff.

There’s no chance … none … that Warren survives a primary process. Remember, this was the woman that the Republicans ACTUALLY chose to make a stand on and prevent from being appointed to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau because she was such a screaming liberal and so shockingly anti-corporate as to frighten even the go-along-to-get-along RINOs into opposing her.

She was able to win in Massachusetts due to the loss of that state to the mindless Liberals who chant “Yes We Can” like drones and slather over any Obama initiative as if he were the second coming of the Messiah. The Occu-pooper crowd and the welfare state makes for a lost cause. The Liberal guilt of success runs strong, there.

That won’t play in “Fly-Over Country” or in the South. Even the Liberals there will say “we like what she says, but she CAN’T win, so we’re not going to waste our vote.”

The early 2016 primary states will chew Warren up and spit her out a broken person, let alone a viable candidate, should she choose to run. As more of the country gets wind of her shenanigans in listing herself as a Native American, practicing Law illegally and surrendering her Texas law license rather than risk an inquiry, and her “champion of the little people” schtick while pulling in a million dollar plus income will destroy her.

She might make a good candidate for a VP choice, though. I can see her delivering the North East Liberal strongholds to a less toxic candidate (I know, not a big chance of loss to the Democrat Party, but still). The Liberals will be able to get behind a XXXX/Warren ticket, with an eye toward 2020, even though Warren would be 70 at that point (as they’re trying to get Hillary Clinton to run at roughly the same age).

I’m not sure a Clinton/Warren ticket could get traction, but I can see it being floated to the Liberal Marxist base, trying to sell them as “the Smartest Women in the Country,” when all they really are is the most shameless women in the country.

You’d think the nation has had enough of junior senators who can barely serve out one term before they think they’re qualified to run for President.

Nobody ever got broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public….

There isn’t a politician out there that people trust these days.

That Elizabeth Warren is being pushed ahead comes as no surprise at all. The whole DC crowd likes her. And, they want to be in the business to “keep on picking.”

The republicans don’t own this “weapon.” And, they fragment over the people who please them. People who won’t pick up the traction Elizabeth Warren gets.

Meanwhile, our entire justice system went to hell in a hand-basket. Everyone knows John Roberts set up the secret FISA courts. And, the republicans refuse to call him out.

Instead, republicans think they can go after the “Faux Indian,” without considering her ability to run well.

Until the day comes that republicans figure out how both parties stink … and, they’ve got their own damaged goods running around and taking over political space … you’re not going to win anything.

Sarah Palin. A solid record of achievement. A solid record of reform. A solid record of putting the welfare of the state ahead of her political career, and paying the price for it by being smeared as a “quitter”. She is trustworthy. She can beat Hillary and Lieawatha.

I agree. But to do so she’ll have to lead a revolution — or a “legal insurrection” — within the party. I think she can, but will she?

Milhouse in reply to Juba Doobai!. | September 9, 2013 at 8:15 am

Palin could have done it in 2012. I wish she had, and I was all ready to support her. But I’m not sure she can do it in 2016. Her record will have been too short and too long ago. If she’d finished out her term as governor, it might be a different story, but a half-term eight years ago, when there are candidates with two full terms much more recently? I don’t see it.

Ready? I predicted it months ago. She’ll be the nominee.

My prognostication is based on an understanding of the Left, which now owns the party. The Left never retreats or returns to losers. After Obama, they will not return to the bedraggled and baggagey Hillary. And they don’t play the GOP’s “it’s their turn” game. The Left always want “more,” and only Warren can give it to them.

Is there a candidate who could possibly excite the media and the Left and cause them to double down in delusion and dreams of political salvation more than Obama? Moreover, she’s the only one who can expiate them for Obama without shaming them by refuting his legacy, by campaigning on the notion that he didn’t go far enough (the eternal Leftist excuse for failure and its irresistible justification for “more!”).

The fact people know next to nothing about her is enormously to her advantage. The republican candidate, if it’s a RINO, certainly will not take the lead in defining her. We’ve seen RINOs lose this game enough times. And would ANY candidate on the Right embrace the dirty work of defining and destroying her (which would be necessary)? This would mean confronting the media and their certain onslaught of “sexism” and “misanthropy” slanders.

As for those who discount her because of her radicalism etc., we no longer live in an objective world. Who will tell us who she really is? Who will be reaching the LIVs?

G_d save us.

Don’t look to Me to save you. I gave you free will. Use it wisely.

Just remember, I invented the anal sphincter (one of my better days, if I do say so) for one purpose and one purpose only and that purpose is not to be President.

    G_d

not to be nitpicky, but in the Wicki page that details her chicanery, there is a small typo on one of the paragraphs (see below). It has “Warren’t” instead of “Warren’s”. I’d hate for someone to focus on a small typo and miss the weight of what is presented.

A detailed analysis of The Globe article actually called Warren’t family lore stories into question, because among other things, Warren’s claim in the article was focused on a different family line than originally claimed

This is going to sound cynical because, well it is. Warren is not attractive enough for shallow low-information voters. Add to the fact that she does not have a forceful enough speaking voice to overcome that, and I just don’t see it happening. She’ll be placed in a position of higher power, it just won’t be at the hands of the voters.

I wouldn’t mind watching her and Hillary go at it…

Six years ago I would have mocked you unmercifully for the very idea that such a radical and thoroughly unqualified person could win a major party nomination for President.

Today I stand before you chastised by events and humbly apologetic. And scared as hell.

You don’t think Michelle’s going to run?

“Draft Warren groups sprung up in Iowa, New Hampshire.”

Dear God! If “Draft Warren” groups spring up in NH, I’m moving the out of my crazy state. NH had (the optimal word here is *had*) been the sole voice of reason in the Northeast, but with all the MA transplants, it has turned into MA light.

Why in the hell would people flee from MA because of the high taxes only to come to a state that doesn’t have them, and then VOTE for higher taxes. Yes, liberals *are* that stupid!

Can we please just dispense with the pleasantries and call the “progressives” what they are….communists.

Liz Warren is the white bread of candidates: refined bleached flour, unwholesome constituents, sugar rush, no fiber – a vote for cardboard

Warren will not be the Democrat Party nominee in 2016. Her primary opponents will trash her on the Cherokee thing, less for the initial lie than for the ongoing adherence to it. What didn’t hurt her in Massachusetts (whose voters read ballots from right to left) will kill her on the national stage. Guess where her opponents will get the oppo research material to do this?

Well-played, Professor. Well-played.

Democrats put up the most incompetent stupid people for office.

I started reading “Bull by the Horns”, by former FDIC chairman Sheila Bair. (love those $3.99 with shipping used books)

She seemed like a reasonable voice in the melt down, but in the book she spoke warmly of her good friend Elizabeth Warren. That sorta soured me on confidence in Bair’s views.

Warren has a bad history, and kicking off her “They Love Me … they really love me” campaign in the arms of thug Trumka surely can’t help. But her supposed expertise is in banking, as I understand it. Her policy stance needs to be tied to the current failures, though I’m not clear exactly what she preaches.

Voters surely won’t want another leftist that demands special treatment based on race or gender. But if Hollywood, Big Media, unions and a few billionaires choose Lieawatha, perhaps LIV’s will again play Charlie Brown to the Lefty Lucies holding the football.

I can’t imagine a reason why Hillary’s candidacy would influence Elizabeth Warren’s. Warren is going to run. Period. End of story. Hillary will also run. The infighting between them will be vicious (and fun to watch). Hillary will lose.
