This ain’t your Grandhippie’s Ithaca

This ain’t your Grandhippie’s Ithaca

If I had not received this from a highly reliable source, I never would have believed this was seen in Ithaca.

From someone whose identity is being held so secret I had to black out his reflection on the chrome trim, came this photo and note:

I enviously enjoyed your posts from Israel.

This car was parked too close to Campus to be safe.

I appear to have photographed myself too.

Corner of Worth St. and Pearl St.  [Near the Cornell campus] It was there again today.

The guy has good taste!

This was in Ithaca? Really? Inconceivable!

The NSA is angered that you blocked out the photo taker image … you are trying to mess with their gargantuan dB.

This weekend while driving north on I-91 about 2 miles south of Northampton, MA, there were people on an overpass (to Mt. Tom) with signs tied to the safety fence above the railings. The ones I could read at speed were calling for impeachment of Obama and were referencing NSA, Fast & Furious, etc. What struck me was how close this location is to the Five Colleges and the second strongest Democrat voting districts in the state(Amherst and Northampton), behind Cambridge. Were talking 85%++ for Obama in both elections. It makes me wonder if some of the faux-tolerant progressives in the area might have taken or will take action to have them removed immediately or prevent it in the future.

Yes, I also question the location of the car in question– it appears to be undamaged, so the claim as to the stated location seems a bit suspect indeed.

Well, Professor, don’t you have any operatives, aka ‘feet on the ground’ who could silently approach the vehicle and slip an LI/CI leaflet for such a worthy and gutsy counterculture warrior as this?

With those stickers, we’re pretty well assured the picture wasn’t taken anywhere near NYC. Otherwise the Obamabots and Sharpton’s Posse would have made sure the auto insurance provider would be doling out money for a totalled car.

Welfare is not a career opportunity.

Does anyone else love that one?

Finally a Government Motors car I would be willing to drive.

Bumper sticker graffiti. Where’s that can of white spray paint when you need it!

I’d leave the ‘Welfare Is Not A Career Opportunity’ sticker alone, but ‘Dumber then Bush’ gets whited out (no president in modern times is dumber) and the ‘Abortions Kill People’ line gets BLACKED out for emphasis (anyone who equate a fetus with a person needs electroshock therapy).

And yes, I’m in favor of free speech, even when plastered on a car in a public place, but as I also am a volunteer who paints out unwanted neighborhood graffiti splattered on walls and sidewalks by people who think their tags are free speech exclamations too, there’s still a wonderful feeling of accomplishment removing that visual noise from sight. And the visual noise of some of those bumper stickers are CRYING OUT for white noise spray!

Where did you say that car was parked again?

Your disagreement with the message does not give you the right to vandalize someone else’s property. Generally, people learn that lesson in grade school, but it appears you did not.

Figures that a lefty wouldn’t have a clue about the rights of others, the Non-Aggression Principle, etc.

Aha! So it was you who keyed a circle around my Mitt/Paul sticker on my car in Wegmans parking lot last fall!

    It’s in Ithaca, Texas.

Have at it! Just make sure your insurance is paid up, first! :~)

It probably belongs to a visiting parent.
