MAD About Him

MAD About Him

Some good stuff in the Tip Line (which is more of a reader open forum than just for “tips”).

H/t to JCClarke for the link I used in this tweet today:

And this tip from Bruno Lesky shows how the fight against progressive propaganda is taking place at the school level, even in Texas:

Here’s an excerpt from the new curriculum that Texas teachers developed “to benefit Texas students” Truly … traitorous:

[T]he lesson plan on the Boston Tea Party depicts it as “a local militia, believed to be a terrorist organization, attacked the property of private citizens today at our nation’s busiest port. Although no one was injured in the attack, a large quantity of merchandise, considered to be valuable to its owners and loathsome to the perpetrators, was destroyed. The terrorists, dressed in disguise and apparently intoxicated, were able to escape into the night with the help of local citizens who harbor these fugitives and conceal their identities from the authorities.”

Quote taken from PJ Media article in which Texax Lt. Gov. Dewhurst has a plan to stop it. However, 897 school districts out of 1200 are planning on using this curriculum when school opens later this month!!

And Duchess of Kitty reminds people of our focus on the SPLC:

Oh please, Morris… Don’t. Make. Me. Laugh!

Is that the new Common Core BS?

As for schools, let’s us the leftist playbook and use Federal legislation. If a state accepts Federal Education money for K-12 programs, then decriminalize truancy. Make the first consequence a letter. The second truancy a stern letter, and the third a very stern, registered letter. If kids don’t care for school they won’t be forced. School aged children may participate in extra-curricular activities and come to the school for the free lunch program and other food. If students aren’t getting anything out of the exercise they will stop going. When enough students are gone, funding per student should remain constant.

This is in Texas. If this is what they’re teaching in Texas, makes you wonder what’s being taught in California, NY, Mass, etc

Oh, I see. The indian ruse. Maybe, that’s why Elizabeth Warren got elected in Massachusetts?

As to the paragraph, above, it looks likes it’s written in legalese. And, there’s nothing about taxes.

You know the Boston Tea Party didn’t like all the taxes put on the colony by king george.

Such a simple story to tell. I guess given the school districts that crap will be taught in … It’s no wonder (like the kids in NYC), there’s NO reading comprehension. And, kids test 99 points below par.

What would that paragraph look like if it was written in ebonics?

Obama and Mad Magazine a match made in hell.

Same with Obama and the textbook propaganda.

Ted Turner bought the Pearson text book mega company a while back. Wonder if he’s involved in this travesty?

No, actually, I can see this. Some people dress up as Indians and dump tea into the harbor. Other people blow up airliners, bomb public places, and murder Jews.

Potato, potahto.

Alex Bensky. Wow. Your historical knowledge is worse than mine. The current bombings, etc., are flat out acts of terrorism. Al Qaada + related groups are aiming at causing as much DEATH and destruction as possible. The colonials dressed as Indians had 1 aim… to protest the Tea Taxes the British Crown had levied. You must have SOME recall of The Boston Tea Party, …unless you weren’t schooled in the US school system.

Boy, am I mad!

They didn’t teach us progressive history in the 60’s, so all the history I was taught was wrong.

I sure hope that was tongue-in-cheek. That’s the problem w/print media… no visible or audible clues to how you meant something.

I think this is great. It highlights that there are two sides to every coin. And, maybe it will make students think when they hear the MSM describe the Teaparty as a racist militia.

This is enough to get me to subscribe

It really depends on how that statement was used. If the class was looking at this critically it would be a good discussion to see how the same event can be viewed or reported in different ways in order to fit with the viewpoint of different groups.

What was written there may have been how the event could be reported by a British loyalist publication.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea in our current media culture to teach children how to identify bias in journalism.
