“Decimated” al-Qaeda causes U.S. to shut embassies and go on high alert

“Decimated” al-Qaeda causes U.S. to shut embassies and go on high alert

The Department of State issued a travel alert Friday, warning of al Qaeda and affiliated organizations planning potential terrorist attacks “particularly in the Middle East and North Africa, and possibly occurring in or emanating from the Arabian Peninsula” between now and the end of August.  It ordered at least 21 embassies and consulates to be closed on Sunday, with the possibility that they could remain closed beyond Sunday.

Several US officials said that chatter among al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula operatives has increased in the last few days, according to CNN.  A number of officials and lawmakers made the rounds on weekend news programs, emphasizing the seriousness of this particular warning.

One such lawmaker told FOX News the chatter was similar to that before 9/11.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss, of Georgia, said Sunday the so-called “chatter” detected by U.S. intelligence agencies that led the Obama administration to order the closures and issue a global travel warning to Americans is “very reminiscent of what we saw pre-9/11.”

Sources told Fox News the chatter picked up by U.S. intelligence agents over the past two weeks exceeds anything in the last decade. And it included Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri demanding that key leaders of the terror network in the Arabian Peninsula step up their activities in the wake of recent killings of top terrorists.

Representative Peter King of NY echoed that sentiment in nearly the same words on CNN, saying the threat is “the most specific I’ve seen” since the attacks on the US on Sept. 11, 2001, according to Bloomberg News.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey told ABC’s This Week, “There is a significant threat stream and we’re reacting to it…The intent is to attack western, not just U.S. interests.”

It seems like only yesterday that President Obama declared al Qaeda “has been decimated,” is “on the run,” “on its heels,” “on the path to defeat,” and any other number of such claims.

Meanwhile, we’ve taken the extraordinary step of closing a multitude of embassies and consulates, al Qaeda’s leader Ayman al Zawahiri recently appointed the Yemeni leader of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) Nasir al Wuhayshi as the global terror network’s new general manager, al Qaeda is reconstituting its power in places like Iraq, and Interpol has issued a global security alert after multiple prison escapes that are suspected to be linked to al Qaeda.

That seems to be quite a bit of activity for an organization on the run, on its heels, on the path to defeat and decimated.

Just another in a litany of lies told during the 2012 campaign that have slowly been exposed. But of course nobody will be held accountable. For the progressives and their sycophants in the media it is not about what is best for the country or the truth, it is about the progressive—>socialist—>communist agenda. Protect and further the agenda at all cost.

By definition, “decimate” means to kill ten percent. The ancient Romans used decimation as a punishment for rebellion or non-payment of taxes. They would march in a legion and line up all the men. Then they would walk down the line and stick a sword or a spear into every tenth guy.

So if Al Qaeda has been decimated then it is still at 90%. Thanks to Obama’s Arab Spring policies they are now well-armed.

Believe the opposite of everything Obuma says and nothing of what any of his ilk says and you will know the truth.

I find myself in the uncomfortable position of actually hoping that something happens today. Given the kerflufle about the NSA wiretap program, isn’t it just a little convenient that there is suddenly a high level security alert brought about by a communication intercept?

I may be being overly paranoid, but given that this seems to be the year that all the conspiracy theories are coming true, the timing seems to be just a little bit to neat for me.

They don’t seem to have “intercepted” any specifics about the threat. All the reports I’ve read just say that there is concern about the level of “chatter” among known terrorists. This is the same kind of information we had before 9/11 — and before the NSA ramped up its spying on anybody and everybody, including innocent Americans.

So what exactly have we gained, in exchange for our privacy? Sure, many businesses are now able to know which products specific consumers are considering buying, and Obama’s political organizations know which voters need to be “motivated” to the polls, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of upside for the rest of us. We are no more secure now than we were in pre-9/11 days, and our personal information is a lot less secure now than it was then.

Please enjoy this latest SHINY OBJECT DISTRACTION brought to you by the OBOZO Endless Campaign and it’s lackeys in the corrupt socialist media.

This SHINY OBJECT will be deemed a SUCCESS if you have already forgotten about the MASSIVE, UNCONSTITUTIONAL, UNLAWFUL OBOZO totalitarian police state SPYING on YOU via your phone calls, your e-mails your financial transactions and your school records (NB: the latter DOES NOT APPLY to OBOZO who has NO school records – at least none that show that he is other than a “foreign student” getting “foreign student aid.”) And, of course, they also hope you have now forgotten about all those “phony” OBOZO regime scandals.

Pardon this interruption about REALITY – you may now go back to your “low-information / no-information” status.

The BS-POTUS. Everything this man says, everything about him, every accomplishment he claims or has credited to him by others, is a lie.

Everything Obama says has an expiry date.

Boy, we have really shown how tough we are. If these people are mean to us, we will show them and just, just, well we will go home. And since they were so rude, we will probably have a wine and do something different with our hair.

Or maybe, Obama has been listening to the same people that attacked us in Libya. We really showed them, we told the FBI that they were especially mean. And the FBI put them on the list. They will likely do something to the people on the list, like, like, not invite them to the next party.

Yes, we are tough and you don’t mess with the US.

I’m no fa n of this administration, but I also came to regret my vote for Bush in 2000 and have not supported any Republican ( or Democrat) candidate since.

That said, these true conspiracies are nothing new. I do believe the privacy intrusion has likely greatly increased over the last five years, aided by emerging technologies. But this kind of capability has long been sought by the three letter agencies; they used to call it a “case management” initiative that included file and case information sharing. The FBI alone wasted hundreds hundreds of millions on these efforts. Now they have their Holy Grail.

The feds comments refute the never-retracted Bush admin statements that the 9/11 attacks came out of nowhere, with no warning. Apparently this new record of “chatter” is rivaled only by that of the weeks preceding the 2001 attacks- only that chatter supposedly never happened.

Usama bin Laden died at Tora Nora. He was Goldsteined until Obama realized that the benefits of displaying his bloody corpse (figuratively only, of course) outweighed his value in the regular two minute hate/fear mongering featuring the shadowy bin Laden.

This new threat is more of the same. There may well be an incident, but how will anyone know who actually did the deed, facilitated it,financed it? The question, “Qui bono?” hasn’t been asked so much lately. Maybe it’s scandal and fear fatigue. Maybe it’s just fear. This country needs to snap on a pair and start demanding answers and transparency from political leadership on both sides of the aisle- and from those who are pulling their strings.

My first thought was this could be a diversion before an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities … getting people out of the region. It is getting to be time. An otherwise reticent Obama might be ready for anything to get him out of the investigations of his crimes.

Certainly Obama’s team will play up any reason to distract from the scandals/investigations.

So we had to close 21 Embassys. Can you imagine how many Embassys we would have closed if Obama hadn’t decimated Al-Qaeda?

Put me down in the column for “the whole thing is made up to benefit the administration”. They can drag this out for a couple of weeks, effectively putting everything related to all the recent scandals on hold, buff up the image of the NSA, and maybe even push amnesty through Congress while we are all watching the newest shiny object.

It pains me to say that, because I would dearly love to be able to beleive at least a few things that emanate from the government, but that fish died on its way upstream.

I’d like to be able to believe them, too. (Useless spell-check. . .)

Turns out all the terrorist chatter was because of Shark Week starting tonight.

Because of the lies and deception no one believes anything they say….

Oh, but the chatter must be real, because it coincides with Obama’s birthday.
