D.C. Lobbyists are to Obamacare, as rodeo clowns are to a mad bull

D.C. Lobbyists are to Obamacare, as rodeo clowns are to a mad bull

No offense to rodeo clowns intended.

I was trying to think of a good analogy when I read this article at The Hill, ObamaCare’s architects reap windfall as Washington lobbyists:

ObamaCare has become big business for an elite network of Washington lobbyists and consultants who helped shape the law from the inside.

More than 30 former administration officials, lawmakers and congressional staffers who worked on the healthcare law have set up shop on K Street since 2010.

Major lobbying firms such as Fierce, Isakowitz & Blalock, The Glover Park Group, Alston & Bird, BGR Group and Akin Gump can all boast an ObamaCare insider on their lobbying roster — putting them in a prime position to land coveted clients.

“When [Vice President] Biden leaned over [during healthcare signing] and said to [President] Obama, ‘This is a big f’n deal,’” said Ivan Adler, a headhunter at the McCormick Group, “he was right.”

I think the rodeo clown – mad bull analogy works.

The D.C. lobbyists, particularly those who helped build Obamacare and therefore are among the few who might understand it, can help distract the massive mad bullocracy which is getting ready to gouge any business in its path.

If you have a better analogy, go ahead.

Somewhere, Tuffy the Rodeo Clown is saying: “When you use that analogy, please add: No offense to rodeo clowns.” Done.

NOT one Republican in either house of congress voted FOR this societal shifting law. That simple, glaring FACT doesn’t even get stated any more.

Our whole nation will reap what those Democrat pieces of fecal matter have sown.

Are we not Blessed?

I am just sick of all of those “both parties are the same” idiots. They increase the atmosphere that forces the GOP to cave in. And if a guy is principled, if he isn’t entirely PC, our own side calls him a “nut”.

The circular firing squad is not the GOP. It’s the whole movement, with the libertarians sniping from the sidelines. Who needs enemies?

You forgot, “no offense to mad bulls”.

Love the rodeo clown analogy.

I got another one: the former admin. officials-now lobbyists are exhibiting Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

These are sick* people who poison or otherwise abuse their children so they can act as heroes to “save” them.

*My edit: should be “slick.”

I have a better idea, Cite Civil Disobedience, and just ignore the law. If enough people do that, it will kill the monster.

Oh, and when I say “ignore the law” I meant that particular, unconstitutional piece of legislation that was rammed down the throat of the American people against their will. Not the “law” in general. 🙂

I’ve been advocating the same thing. The illegal immigration mess proves that our government is powerless when sufficient numbers of people say “f**k you, ain’t doin’ it.”

I also like a “more equal animals” analogy as these perps are, after having wrecked the farm, walking on hind legs while still snorting-at-the-trough.

I’m not sure any lobbyist knows enough about Obamacare to do anything more than sop up consultancy fees on the belief that they do, but the law is so full of variable pathways (‘the secretary shall determine’, ‘the secretary shall assign’, ‘the secretary shall’… this, shall that, etc.) that predicting any aspect of the law is a fool’s game, even for those who wrote it. This is magnified by Obama’s abandonment of deadlines, delay of mandates, and whatever else is coming to hide the fact it is unworkable and… wait for it …unsustainable.

I think it will collapse under its own ineptitude, followed by a colossal political battle over whether to leap to universal government health or a re-establishment of the prior system with reforms. This may occur before 2016 and become the chief – perhaps only – issue for the elections.

Obama isn’t against crony capitalism, he is only against capitalism when his cronies aren’t the ones being fed.

My impression is the lobbyists (meeting secretly off site with the pols) got to write the bill in exchange for supporting it, and separately injected their own dreams into it. Sebelius was granted royal authority (unconstitutionally transferring the power to write law and levy new taxes, to the executive?) to put all the wish list together, despite the conflicts. 10,000 pages later, the sow’s ear is still not the silk purse that was promised.

The rage should be from the 85% that had a doctor and/or plan they wanted to keep, but now have plans costing more. The clown lobbyists keep leading the bureaucratic bull directly into the crowd that already had insurance (because they have the easy access money). We the insured should have been on the sidelines, not getting gouged. Instead we got a HUGE middle/lower class tax increase.

Making sure their industry’s skyrocketing costs are not roped in always REQUIRED gouging those that already have insurance. We in the crowd were supposed to be able to keep our plan and our rates would go down. Instead these clowns opened the gates so the bull from DC could gouge us all.

Maybe a Team Roping analogy also works, where the consumer is the hapless calf, running from Obamacare from the very start. The header is the politician, and the heeler is the second horseman roping the hind legs. The header roped us with promises of nirvana care, while the heeler ropes the hind legs of cost, pulling the legs out in opposite direction from the promise.

The apocalypse has four horsemen … surely death by government health care is one of them. 🙂

And may they have their own ring of hell created for them. Too bad no one goes to jail any longer for influence peddling. Anyone bleating that both parties are the same is simplying trying out the latest in ass covering for the Democrats. Nice try but no one believes it. When people die because of this nightmare it is on Obama and his nest of vipers just like Benghazi.

somehow I feel there is a dung beetle analogy buried in the pile of manure somewhere.
