LIVE: Sharpton’s “Justice For Trayvon” Rallies Push for Civil Rights Case Against Zimmerman

“Justice for Trayvon” rallies and marches are scheduled all across the nation today, organized by The Rev. Al Sharpton and his National Action Network (NAN).  In protest of the recent ‘not guilty’ verdict in the Zimmerman case, leaders and attendees will demand that the federal government “investigate civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.”

Trayvon Martin’s parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin will stand with Rev. Al Sharpton and National Action Network for the “Justice for Trayvon” 100 city vigils this Saturday, July 20th. Sybrina Fulton and her surviving son Jahvaris Fulton will stand with Rev. Al Sharpton and NAN at One Police Plaza at Noon in New York, while Trayvon’s father Tracy Martin will join NAN’s Southeast Regional Chairman and Florida chapter a the Miami location for the “100-city Justice for Trayvon” vigil.

In over one hundred cities across the United States, NAN is organizing “Justice for Trayvon” vigils on Saturday, July 20th to press the federal government to investigate civil rights charges against George Zimmerman. Hundreds of national preachers, led by Rev. Al Sharpton and NAN will hold prayer vigils and rallies in front of federal buildings calling on the Justice Department to investigate the civil rights violations made against Trayvon Martin.

More information in the NAN press release.

Sometimes it’s helpful to follow or check in on some of these events online, so that you can fully understand all the different narratives out there, many of which unfortunately can compete with facts and truth and muddy the waters.

If you’re interested, you can follow the NAN Livestream, as well as the #JusticeForTrayvon Twitter hashtag feed below.  We’ll bring you any important updates if/as available.

While Al Sharpton tries to stir up racial tensions today with protests planned in 100 cities, I think it’s important for this video to go viral. Please watch and pass it on.

Remember–
“One of the most important, and remarkably under-publicized facts that came out at trial is that one of the detectives, while interrogating Zimmerman at the police station that night, told him that the entire incident had been caught on surveillance video. The detective was bluffing, but Zimmerman didn’t know that. His reaction: “Thank God”.
“Thank God.” How many people who do something wrong, lie about it and are told it’s on tape react that way?”

Sharpton’s life’s work – racial lynchings.

Sharpton, Crump, Martin/Fulton and the NBPP handing out Wanted Dead or Alive, $10,000. Reward posters.

Sharpton, Jackson, Crump, Holder and Obama are responsible for any and all harm to people and property by their actions and lies, inflaming ‘their people.’

Where did you find that? Such an obscure website; kind of like many others that get posted here. But to put it in to context, that happened, but it happened last year not today!

    Quote from your link:
“I want to focus on the New Black Panthers who rallied with Al Sharpton at Mellon Park on March 22nd, 2012…”

In addition, your “Sharpton, Jackson, Crump, Holder and Obama are responsible for any and all harm to people and property by their actions and lies, inflaming ‘their people.’” comment presupposes that all of “their people” (the Blacks, right?) turning out today have violence against whites and Hispanics in their hearts and will hurt people today. I have the hope that they are better people than you give them credit for.

What total garbage these liberal witch hunts are. Enough already! It is long past time to remove the race industry clowns from the public arena and send them to the dust bin of history.

As long as the gullible, low-info, low-IQ masses keep offering themselves up as willing prey, the race parasites are gonna remain fat and happy.

Will Martin and Fulton be passing their buckets and trash cans around at these rallies? And do the suckers who contribute their money realize that it’s going into Martin’s and Fulton’s (and Sharpton’s and Crump’s) bank accounts?

    styro1 in reply to Observer. | July 20, 2013 at 11:54 am

What do you think? This is and was all about a payday. The reported 1 million they got from HOA is hardly enough for the Martins after the media handlers and lawyers get their cut.

Racist Blacks on the march, again!
And they wonder why so many people hate them.

No Peace – no more subsidies for black causes!

I’m still waiting for the media to report on Roderick Scott a black man who shot and killed an unarmed white teen who was a full year younger than TM. Mr Scott was found not guilty of murder 3 days after GZ by reason of self-defense in Rochester, NY. Mr Scott sustained no injuries and shot 16 yrs 4 month old white Christopher Cervini twice. I don’t mean to drag Scott thru the mud but GZ shouldn’t be dragged thru it either. Race baiters keep asking for examples of the reverse happening in this country but media are to big a cowards to point this out.

    Katty in reply to styro1. | July 20, 2013 at 11:52 am

The case against Scott was a travesty as well; also marked by prosecutorial misconduct. Another case where the jury saved from the jaws of an overzealous prosecutor a man defending himself from an attack by a miscreant.

By the way I don’t need to watch I already know what they’re already spouting. Racist country, slamming SYG, whites looking to kill 12 yr old black kids bla bla bla. Heard a thousand times and I’ll hear it a thousand more.

Disgusting… they care nothing about the thousands of blacks murdered by other blacks.

They care nothing about the millions of black babies killed inside the womb.

I believe the statistic is that over 40% of black pregnancies end in abortion.

Abortion creates a society of violence where human life is meaningless. No wonder black children grow up thinking their lives are unimportant.

Organized by the communist party no doubt

I am in favor of changing Racial Profiling Laws.
In every neighborhood, city or county it should be REQUIRED BY LAW that profiling posters describing by their race or national origin those committing the highest percentage of crime be posted in all public areas, buildings, and public transportation conveyances.

    DriveBy in reply to jayjerome66. | July 20, 2013 at 12:55 pm

Why? What would that accomplish? Other than to vilify and marginalize “The Blacks” or “The Hispanics” or perhaps in certain communities “The Asians” or “The Whites” even more than they already are in their communities. I’m guessing of course, so you tell me, what would that accomplish?

      jayjerome66 in reply to DriveBy. | July 20, 2013 at 1:35 pm

If the crime demographics fit, why not wear them?

If we lived in a neighborhood where 60% of violent crime was committed by Red-Headed men (less then 1% of the population)would you object to having profile posters of redheads plastered everywhere in sight? A Crimson Crime Watch, so to speak?

It certainly would have made sense in Zimmerman’s gated community to have a Black Crime Warning posted – as at LEAST 15 of the 16 reported incidences that occurred there prior to Trayvon’s assault on George were by black men.

When whites and other ethnic groups replace blacks as the primary offenders, their profiles can be substituted. We could have fill-in posters, titled SITUATIONAL AWARENESS SAVES LIVES. And if my children or grandchildren become the primary criminal class there, I won’t protest having photos of people who look like them pasted inside.

VetHusbandFather | July 20, 2013 at 11:58 am

The Justice department won’t press charges. That was the whole point of Obama’s speech yesterday:

I know that eric holder is reviewing what happened down there, but I think it is important for people to have some clear expectations here. Traditionally these are issues of state and local government. The criminal code and law enforcement is traditionally done at the state and local levels. Not at the federal levels. That doesn’t mean though that as a nation we can’t do some things that I think would be productive. So let me just give a couple of specifics that I’m still bouncing around with my staff so we’re not rolling out some five-point plan but some areas where I think all of us could potentially focus.

What he’s really saying here, DOJ won’t press charges so don’t hate us when that happens. The rest of the speech was telling his base “I’m still one of you”.

    Yep. DOJ’s got nuthin.

Flyover Conservative in reply to VetHusbandFather. | July 20, 2013 at 1:30 pm

Yeah, but that didn’t keep the Community Agitator from flapping his gums. He always has to make it about himself (it could have been me 35 years ago) or inject himself into a situation to stir the pot. He can’t help himself. He’s never solved anything in his life. He doesn’t know how. He never learned. No one should be surprised with this guy at this point.

VetHusbandFather in reply to Flyover Conservative. | July 20, 2013 at 1:56 pm

I think he knows that it will hurt him more than help him if the DOJ tries to press civil rights charges. Just take a look at the trajectory that Angela Corey is on after this debacle. Sure it will motivate his base, but pressing charges when the FBI has already told them no probable cause exists? That will be another notch on the DOJ scandal scorecard. Another stain for his former cabinet members that are running for president.

Since when have criminal charges been about justice for the victim of the crime? Criminal cases are NEVER and have NEVER BEEN about justice for the victim. That is not their purpose.

..As my first law professor drilled that into our heads the very first day of class.

Here’s Alan Dershowitz on the subject:

“This case [is] about seeking justice for Caylee…” So argued the prosecutor in the Casey Anthony murder case. He was wrong, and the jury understood that. A criminal trial is never about seeking justice for the victim. If it were, there could be only one verdict: guilty. That’s because only one person is on trial in a criminal case, and if that one person is acquitted, then by definition there can be no justice for the victim in that trial.

The whole thing is here:

Uncle Samuel | July 20, 2013 at 12:05 pm

Tragically, Trayvon got justice.

Trayvon, his parents, the media-glorified black gangsta culture and the Miami school system are most responsible for his death.

Not George Zimmerman.

Not the whites.

Uncle Samuel in reply to Uncle Samuel. | July 20, 2013 at 12:18 pm

What Trayvon needed and a million other Trayvons need is redemption – remorse, repentance and then redemption, not justice.

DriveBy in reply to Uncle Samuel. | July 20, 2013 at 12:21 pm

LOL! Quote Uncle Samuel: “Not the whites.”

Thanks, I really did laugh when I read that! Not the whites. Not the whites. Not the whites.

Uncle Samuel in reply to DriveBy. | July 20, 2013 at 12:25 pm

‘Not the whites’ who are being blamed, who are being targeted by violent thugs all across the country.

Carol Herman | July 20, 2013 at 12:06 pm

If Detroit could make a noise, this is what it would sound like. As it collapsed.

NC Mountain Girl | July 20, 2013 at 12:16 pm

It would be interesting to compare who turned out should there be a well publicized day of prayer rallies for all the victims of urban street crime and to change the hearts of the criminals.

Actually, they have those periodically in Birmingham Alabama when the crime rate soars higher than normal (which is pretty high) or after there’s been a particularly outrageous homicide (the bar’s set pretty high here). I quit paying attention to them a while back, so I couldn’t tell you what the attendance numbers are like for them.

All the prayer rallies do is direct the “black community’s” attention away from the factors really responsible for the crime in the 1st place, and focus it on completely irrelevant emotion-based BS. Just like the Justice for Trayvon rallies.

myveryownpointofview | July 20, 2013 at 12:27 pm

You just KNOW obama phoned Beyonce and begged her to make an appearance. It seems the turnout in NYC wasn’t very terrific in spite of it having been well publicized, and being in the best liberal gathering spot in the entire USA.

So, suddenly tweets are frantically going out that Bouncy and Jazzy were there, and coming back to speak, or sing or something, all very last minute – or, *cough cough* impromptu, and NOW the crowd starts to plump up.

Can’t have obamas Hate Whitey party spoiled by low turnout.

The parents of TM are going to be going through withdrawal pretty soon. In less than two weeks they won’t be able to get a camera trained on them no matter how hard they try.

Why can’t yappers like Sharpton be cited for excess noise pollution?

Tired minds want to know…

Any chance that this has been a bridge too far? Even some of the media shills that I thought were reasonably adequate have pimped themselves to a whole new level.

Like many of you have said: Were these people watching and listening to the same testimony? Facts, that’s old.

Gracious me – those crowds are ALMOST as diverse as the Tea Party crowds.

Think the media will notice?

Yeah – me neither.

Heck,
Let them sue civilly….in Florida there is a very good chance that Statute 776.032(3) would apply and the Martins would end up paying money to George Zimmerman.

Uncle Samuel | July 20, 2013 at 1:46 pm

The true colors of this crowd will be revealed after the sun goes down.

Looting, burning and assaults will discredit them, create bad PR and they will lose sympathy and support.

Justice for Trayvon… in Chicago?

How about some justice for the people who are murdered every year in Chicago by gang activity?

Don’t AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICIES do “PROFILING”?

Let’s get rid of these, and all the government forms that ask for “race”.

Just a quick question: when they say “justice for Trayvon,” they mean looting and beating the Hell out of random whites and Hispanics, right? I just want to be clear on this.

ColonialGal in reply to freddby. | July 20, 2013 at 2:48 pm

    fred,
This is one of the few days blacks feel safe in their own neighborhoods, in theory anyway they have taken day off from killing each other.

rantbot in reply to freddby. | July 20, 2013 at 7:46 pm

Very good question … I’d always assumed it was code for “come on downtown and pick up a free widescreen TV”, which at least makes some economic sense, but perhaps it’s more primitive than that.

ColonialGal | July 20, 2013 at 2:45 pm

Where can I get a job being perpetually outraged?
There are to be 2 “rallies” near me today one in Harrisburg the other in York BOTH being ran by the AME church.
Putting that pigford money to use………

offtopic: has anyone read anything about what happened to the BP oil slush fund that was created and where that money has gone?

inquisitivemind in reply to ColonialGal. | July 20, 2013 at 3:01 pm

I can tell you as an AL resident that I see nightly commercials claiming you can get money if your business declined during the year of the oil spill.
You don’t even have to prove it was direct result of the spill!
The civil lawyers are probably gobbling up most of the funds

AL resident, as well. Far away from the gulf. Had e-mails from two local lawyers suggesting that I needed to make a claim. I need to be able to sleep at night far more than I need to take part in a shakedown. Very unfortunate.

Connivin Caniff | July 20, 2013 at 2:53 pm

Are the contents of Trayvon’s cell phone public records? If so they should be widely disseminated before somebody gets killed.

inquisitivemind in reply to Connivin Caniff. | July 20, 2013 at 3:07 pm

If you believe facts have any bearing on these peoples decision to seek “justice for trayvon” then yes.

Ultimately it will have no effect, since the narrative has been engrained in their minds, little if any of them watched the trial, understand the facts, or even have a slight handle on what SYG laws are.

ColonialGal | July 20, 2013 at 3:42 pm

Thanks INQ and Fabi,
Was wondering what happened to the SLUSH fund that they had to create and hand over to obama vs the settlement fund.

FYI I just noticed only 41 people watching that NAN live feed LOL can you say CRICKETS? Also I watch scads of Brit
tv shows and NAN ( also NIN ) is a slang word for female privates which makes me laugh that the numbskulls chose that.

ColonialGal | July 20, 2013 at 3:45 pm

someone just posted “a few hundred years ago slavery was the law” …………SNICKER

Disgusting… they care nothing about the thousands of blacks murdered by other blacks

I think other factors are at play

1) It’s harder to extort money from whites for black-on-black murders
2) The last thing a black race hustler wants to do is put that fact in the forefront of whites’ minds, where they can’t ignore it
