It’s time to wake up! Conservatives–while you are (rightly) excited about NSA snooping and partisan IRS corruption, the Congress is about to change America in a more profound, permanent way right under your noses. In the process it will hand President Obama the major second term achievement that will help him overcome the very scandals that are distracting you–or, rather, make his survival or re-ascendance unimportant. He will have won. Democrats will have shaped the future electorate to their own liking. They’ll have transformed what America is.
Judicial Watch, Documents Reveal DHS Abandoned Illegal Alien Background Checks to Meet Amnesty Requests Following Obama’s DACA:
Judicial Watch announced today that documents obtained recently through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request show that the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) abandoned required background checks late last year, adopting, instead, costly “lean and lite” procedures in effort to keep up with the flood of amnesty applications spurred by President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) directive, which grants illegal aliens a two-year deferment from deportation.
Acting on a tip from a whistleblower at a federal law enforcement agency, Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request with DHS, for “all communications, memoranda, emails, policy guidance, directives, initiatives, and any other correspondence respecting the scope and extent of background checks to be performed (or not) on aliens applying to the Obama administration’s DACA program.” The FOIA was filed on October 26, 2012. The Immigration and National Security Act (INA) mandates a “coordinated, uniform, and efficient,” system of background checks. Instead, the FOIA documents reveal a costly, haphazard process, with only cursory review for the backgrounds of illegal aliens seeking “deferred status.”
It’s all just a game. And Democrats play it a lot better than we do.

The bill wouldn’t pass the senate unless it is already a done deal in the house. Senators don’t want to be left hanging.
If this bill passes, we should all become Democrats. Having an R next to your voter ID will just get you spied upon. Possibly with time the D leadership will allow its. Next voting block to make changes at the margins when an old voting bloc gets uppity. As pathetic as that is, it’s more than the republicans can do for you.

One of the more absurd things I’ve seen was on univision where the illegal Mexicans were complaining there were too damn many illegal Panamanians. More absurd is how the Mexican government bitches about how their invaders are treated in the US yet anyone coming from Central America through Mexico ends up enslaved or dead all sanctioned by the same government.
It is indeed absurd, but playing the racism/compassion card has been incredibly effective. It’s absurd Americans still swallow the spiel whole.
But those that use the tactic are not absurd, they are shrewd, and no doubt profit greatly from America’s weakness. Obama still relies on the race card, and uses “minorities” and women and children as human shields, using them to make his leftist arguments.

Thanks Professor Jacobsen for bringing it up again. We have 2 or 3 weeks to kill this thing, and the phone calls to Senators don’t begin to match the avalanche is ’07. Heard someone yesterday say the Senators were getting 100 calls a day now on it, versus 2,000 a day in ’07.
I am going to handmake a sign for my car, but pithy isn’t my forte. I’ll check back here later in the day for suggestions. And I’m radical, so the more pugnacious the better, but please, no profane suggestions!

Seriously? This sounds like an Obama speech. I’m just waiting for the tear down the cheek. Don’t try to pull that one on me. My compassion is for my fellow Americans.
I believe an enormous and unconcious psychological need exists among leading Republicans to “save” Obama from these scandals. As strange and sick as it sounds, I believe it is very real, and arises from the insecurity, fear and self-loathing at the heart of the modern GOP. They see this bill as the means to prove to the public and media their worth, to win the elusive approval which their corrupted and weak political natures can’t earn through the risks and hard work of principle. Call it the terminal-stage Stockholm Syndrome. I think in part that this explains the otherwise inexplicable, the anti-partisan even suicidal, embrace of this bill. It’s a cry for their own salvation: “please, media and American low information voters, accept us now, love us now. You have to, after we’ve proved our higher selves to overlook the scandals and lock arms with the libeal messiah and bestow amnesty on the unfortunate.”
If it weren’t this bill, it would be another. Obama’s scandals have forced a moment of truth on the opposition party, an existential crisis, and the GOP can’t handle it. They just want things to go back to normal in Washington, to the long, congenial power arrangement which Obama’s scandals have now shaken to its foundation. What they sense in Obama’s terrible perfidy is something which threatens the entire empire of their ruling class, and it scares them to the marrow. They’re completely overwhelmed.

I called my nascent RINO Senator, the Right Honorable John Cornyn (/sarcasm), and gave his staff an earful. The poor lady who took my call said that the calls to his office are pretty much in the same vein.
My local political pundit says that most Conservatives wrote off the Senate early on, depending instead on the House to hold the line. A miscalculation? Maybe so… considering that Boehner’s daughter married an Rastafarian construction worker with a drug conviction.

Like much of the laws Congress passes, this one has genuine benefits, not for us, but for the friends of the sponsors: see the part about several million/billion (no limit as usual) for people to help applicants for amnesty. Border security isn’t really there, just “type up a plan or else type up a report on why there isn’t any typed-up plan”. Bull. Why? Because both the GOP and the Democrats benefit from it, one way or another. That’s what we get for allowing the Senate (or the House) to work out these “back room” deals in private with little or no public debate and public input. No chance of any other results, no chance of any change in how the Congress-Critters conduct their business. No, not a typo; congress hasn’t conducted the public’s business in a long time. What they do is for themselves and for their supporters, not for us.
And now we have Rand Paul taking the candy bar and getting in the car with Rubio: Paul tells illegals, “We will find a place for you.”

Mexicans already have a place, Rand. It’s called “Mexico.” What did they do to it? And whatever they did to it, are they going to do that here?

Of course not. And it is not even a Mexican deal (although Mexicans are a big component of this). We have illegals from all over and there is no enforcement. The Democrats are pandering to them.

They are figuring that their careers will be over by the time the illegals get the vote. But, in the mean time, they can count on major contributions from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other cheap-labor groups to help keep them in office until they retire or die.

I’m listening to Rush and he has fallen for the trap. Rush says the bill is intended to fail in the House, so Democrats have an issue to campaign on in 2014. I think Rush is wrong.
The Senate will pass some amendments that will make the bill ultimately pass the Senate. When they send it to the House, the House will ignore the Senate bill. But they WILL pass something that will appeal to Republicans, and that’s the trap.
Because once the House passes something, then the House and Senate will go to conference to negotiate the final version. This is the kicker: WHATEVER COMES OUT OF CONFERNCE WILL BE DESIGNED TO PASS THE SENATE. After the post-conference bill passes the Senate, the House has a false choice. Either pass the bill that Republicans negotiated in the conference (which is biased to placate Senate Democrats), or they can vote it down. But if they vote it down, they will be demagogued as hateful anti-immigrant bigots from now until the mid-terms by the Democrat Party, media sycophants, Twitter mobs, etc.
The House will cave and pass what the Senate wants.
If its going to be stopped, it has to be stopped NOW before anything passes the Senate. If the House passes ANYTHING – and they will pass something – it’s a fait accompli that the Democrats in the Senate will get most of what they want.
Republicans want you to eat the crap sandwich that it will be “improved” to appeal to conservatives in conference. It won’t be improved. Not meaningfully. There may be minor concessions but nothing that will make the Senate Democrats blow up the deal. It’s ALWAYS the Republicans who give ground.
The idea that DHS was ever seriously going to do background checks on millions of “DREAM” amnesty applicants was always a joke. A report yesterday said that 99.5% of the “DREAM” amnesty applications have ALREADY been approved. The only thing DHS “checked” was whether or not they had enough ink in their ink pads to stamp “approved” on every application.
Keep that in mind when Rubio (or Schumer or one of the other amnesty pimps) talks about the “background checks” that will be performed on the 11 million illegal aliens who will get amnesty under his bill. There will be no “background checks” for amnestied illegals, just like there will be no “stiff fines” (Napolitano gets unlimited discretion to waive any and all fines on the grounds of “financial hardship” — no actual proof required). And just like there will be no “requirement to learn English” — the amnesty bill only requires illegals applying for citizenship to show that they’re enrolled in an English-language course (there is no requirement to prove they can actually speak English, and there’s not even a requirement to show they ever actually showed up to the class — just that they “enrolled”).
It’s all a giant scam. Did you know that the government estimated that over 1/3 of the approved applications in the 1986 amnesty were fraudulent? Rubio and Schumer are aiming for an even bigger percentage this time.
Also, after the 1986 amnesty, the more than 3 million illegal aliens who received amnesty ended up chain-migrating in an average of 3 more family members each. So the 1986 amnesty, which was sold to the U.S. public as legalizing an estimated 1.1 – 1.2 million, ended up legalizing more than 12 million (3.1 million amnestied illegals, plus 9 million more chain-migrating family members).
And the Rubio/Schumer bill plans to top even that! Did you know that the current amnesty bill EXPANDS the definition of “immediate family” for purposes of chain migration? And there are absolutely no caps on how many may come in, and no requirements that they be self-supporting.
This amnesty bill is insane, and any legislator who votes for it is a traitor to the nation.
I’ve warned folks repeatedly about Rubio. Wipe the stardust from eyes. Rubio is the Republican version of Obama. Nice-looking young man who can give a speech. He is not bright. He is Jeb and crowd’s front man. His work history is negligible. Etc. We voted for him because the alternative was Crist.

Yesterday, the RNC gave me their weekly “wanna become a super-unattenuated, gold-plated, ultra stand-up RNC member” call. I normally have a lively debate with them, and it’s usually harder to get them off the phone than it is to get the Jay-Dubs off my porch, short of turning out the dogs (who hate Jehovah’s Witnesses, postmen and goths). Well, yesterday, the guy dropped off the line when I paused for breath in the midst of registering my displeasure at Son of Amnesty.
I think they’re hearing what we say, but that ain’t the same as listening.

I have family who came to this country LEGALLY! took them 10+ years to become citizens, now illegals get the same rights as legal immigrants. and oh yea, these LEGAL immigrants, they are from Mexico, I guess the illegal mexicans get just as many rights as people who followed the law.
