All the President’s Concealers tainted the 2012 election

All the President’s Concealers tainted the 2012 election

With each passing hour, it becomes more and more clear that the truth was concealed from the American public prior to the election about two major Obama administration scandals.

Benghazi was very much in the news prior to the election. The concealment went to the culpability of the Obama administration in failing to heed warnings about security at the Benghazi consulate, the nature of the pre-planned al-Qaeda attack, the scrubbing of the talking points used by Susan Rice, the failure to go to the aid of Americans in trouble, and the claim that the attack was a result of a YouTube video.

That concealment, which now has been exposed in part (much information still has not been released), helped Obama out on an issue which was very much a part of the campaign, and allowed Obama to rebound in the second and third presidential debates after a disastrous first debate put the election outcome in doubt.

The Benghazi concealment allowed the media and the Obama campaign to get away with distractions such as whether Mitt Romney should have issued a press statement, and whether Obama’s generalized non-specific use of the term “acts of terror” constituted an admission that the Benghazi attack was terrorism. These distractions, rather than the administration’s defalcation of duty, worked to Obama’s great advantage.

The other concealment went to an even more explosive issue, the deliberate and concerted targeting by the IRS of Tea Party and conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, and leaks of information about conservative groups.

The stories now are legion, and growing, of IRS stall tactics and inappropriate delving into religious and political beliefs, and the identification of persons with whom the groups interacted. No such targeting took place as to liberal and progressive groups. This targeting was known to senior IRS officials long before the election, but was kept quiet in a variety of ways (including denying such documents existed in response to a FOIA request) until after the election.

That the IRS sought to break the scandal through a planted question and answer at a Bar Association event speaks volumes to the consciousness of guilt.

The IRS targeting of Tea Party and conservative groups not only advantaged supporters of Obama, it kept out of the public domain a very potent issue which would have driven a massive anti-Obama turnout among Tea Party and conservative voters generally unenthused about Mitt Romney.

In each of these concealments, it appears that the dirty work was done by agencies under the control of the Obama administration.

It matters not whether Obama has plausible deniability personally because he allegedly only learns about scandals from the news. These people reported to him directly or indirectly, and they took it upon themselves to conceal from the American public prior to the election facts which, if known, would have greatly damaged Obama’s campaign and inspired his opponents.

The election of 2012 was tainted by All the President’s Concealers.

I don’t believe (I could be wrong) that Richard Nixon directly ordered the break-in at Watergate. Yet, it became clear that operatives, that functioned directly under him, were involved. So it was not the crime itself that brought Nixon down, it was the cover-up.

It was the missing minutes on an Oval Office audio tape, that sealed the deal, just like the missing emails from the Benghazi scandal will help seal the deal. Again, it is always the attempted cover-up that brings the King down.

Tea Party organizations, Jewish organizations, Catholic organizations (like CatholicVote.com), traditional marriage groups and right-to-life groups are now all speaking out how they have been targeted by the IRS.

Obama’s campaign speech that included “Osama bin Laden is dead and the terrorists (al Qaeda) are on the run” hit a glitch when it was clear that AQ, or a spin-off organization, killed four Americans in Benghazi. That story had to be quashed, and quickly. So it became the fault of a little known and hardly seen YouTube video. It would not do to have the POTUS saying he had AQ on the run when it was obvious that the only running they were doing was toward the compound in Benghazi.\

But there is more, much more. I believe we had run weapons to the opposition forces in Libya, that the Ambassador was tasked with reclaiming those weapons to be sent to the opposition fighters in Syria via Turkey. Of course, no reporter yesterday asked the Turkish PM why his ambassador was in Benghazi that night.

The press is still not doing their jobs. But it should be pretty obvious to them that the alligator is hungry, and may not eat them last.

A liberal co-worker brought up Watergate one time in a tirade.I said something to the effect: “You know, Nixon won 49 states in that election. If Watergate was such a big deal, they should have just re-done the election. Nixon would still have won.”
Maybe it’s redirection…but it did stop him in his tracks.

Nixon was his own worst enemy regarding Watergate. If he had owned up to the fact that it happened, the problem would have gone away. I too don’t believe that he actually ordered it but was sure up to his neck in after the fact.

Hopefully, the anointed one will follow the same route but with today’s politics the best we probably can expect is that he becomes a true lame duck after the 2014 midterms.

Nixon’s dilemma was that the cover-up had already begun when he found out about it. Now, he certainly knew he should go public, fire the perpetrators, and appoint a special prosecutor. Always the political paranoid, he worried about the effects, but he would still have won in landslide.

So his own character defect led to his eventual downfall, even though he had nothing to do with the original crime.

True and so sad how the events of Watergate unfolded for Nixon. However one desires to read into what Nixon was thinking in those tumultuous times of Vietnam (interesting how the media and the left convinced millions that that war was Nixon’s war when he inherited it)and the impending reckoning of the government funding of guns and butter (Whip Inflation Now mantra of Pres. Ford)on the economy, some Nixon biographers point to the motivation for his behavior during Watergate harkens back to the 1952 Presidential Election and Eisenhower not making a public statement of support for Nixon when he was fighting of allegations of having a slush fund and culminating in his famous Checker’s Speech which saved his place on the ticket. After enduring the indignity of having to lay bare some of his personal information and Eisenhower’s lack of support, Nixon vowed that if any of his people ever got into trouble he would support them — which turned out to be a travesty for the nation in that Nixon had a true CREEP working for him by the name of JOHN ‘there is a cancer on the presidency Mr. Pres. and I put it there and you are going to having to take it’ DEAN. And, as they say, the rest is history…..

In 1992 Len Colodny and Robert Gettlin released the book, Silent Coup, a very different story on Watergate than was reported at the time. It is a powerful read and you knew it was going to be by the actions of the Left against the book. The authors had their appearance on CNN (Larry King) cancelled at the last minute as well as many other similiar happenings while promoting their book. I highly recommend this book and those who do pick it up are going to find that this book is a lot more than just a story about Watergate.

“the truth was concealed from the American public prior to the election”
Ya know, it was concealed during the first election too. Starting with the publisher website where BHO’s bio said he was a Kenyan citizen. The depth of BHO’s ties to Billy Ayers. His (and Michelle’s) student grades and writings, his co-workers at his one and apparently only private sector job, …none of this stuff got covered.
Not. A. Coincidence. Sez me (or, at least, suspects me).

What is amazing is that people still believe him about anything. In another 90 days the storm clouds will have passed this will have all been forgotten – or forgiven.

Jerry…I am convinced that the only solution is revolt.
There is NO other way to correct these UNAMERICAN activates.
The MFM especially needs to be eliminated & start from scratch. All government. unions needs to be abolished. DOJ< DOS need cleansing, DOE, DHS,EPA. need eradication.
There is no other way then removal of this government.

About all that is missing from this story is having Media Matters caught trying to break into the Holocaust Museum

As the sordid events unfold in DC it is becoming abundantly clear that this election was stolen, i.e. using intimidation, fraud and outright lies.

Finally, the chickens may be coming home to roost…

As I noted elsewhere, in response to a moonbat posting Toilet Paper Mau-mau LYING points alleging “GOP fabricated emails”…

[First] they were…and were reported as…SUMMARIES of the emails. As such, they were remarkably accurate.

Second, very little of any significance was different. Witness this:

The Republican version notes Nuland discussing: “The penultimate point is a paragraph talking about all the previous warnings provided by the Agency (CIA) about al-Qaeda’s presence and activities of al-Qaeda.” The actual e-mail from Nuland says: the “…penultimate point could be abused by Members to beat the State Department for not paying attention to Agency warnings…” —from the cBS report

In other words, Nuland (who IS Old Walleyes Clinton here) knows there is a scandal (ONE of many: they were warned and ignored the warnings), and expressly calls for a coverup to avoid Congressional oversight. Reason tells us this is purely political.

I cannot recall anyone saying, “Whoa, bitch…that ain’t right!” in any of the emails. Indeed, Rhodes makes his curiously artful statement about, “We need to resolve this in a way that respects all the relevant equities, particularly the investigation.” Ultimately, Nuland’s “equities” carry the day.

To really get a handle on why so many would lie it is important to get a feel for how long so many have wanted to change the West, especially the US and particularly the relationships of citizen and government created by our Constitution. http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/reorienting-world-order-values-via-the-intervention-of-activist-education-and-progressive-politics/ describes a vision from the early 70s launched during the Cold War.

It was supposed to go 70s as creating new values and beliefs and a new prevailing consciousness, 80s for mobilization of institutions and the creation of NGOs for structural change, and then Action for Change.

Right now parts of the population have the right values and beliefs but not enough electorally quite yet. But the K-12 ed “reforms” Obama has unleashed on the states with bribes of your tax money will solve that by the end of a 2nd term. Meanwhile the institutions are poised for actions waiting for enough of the right kind of mindset and personalities driven by emotion and drummed in concepts that are frequently wrong. But still influential to provoke action.

It is so close and a terrorist attack and voters committed to the American system that are Founding Fathers envisioned just could not be allowed to impede victory.

The really troubling aspect of what I write about is that it is and has been common knowledge for plenty of influential people for decades. And they have been and are making political campaign plans around cultivated mindsets and erroneous beliefs that one side to a campaign is just not aware of. Because they don’t get invited to the meetings and actually believe that elections are about which side gets to govern for a term.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | May 17, 2013 at 4:55 pm

Ronald Brownstein, Charlie Cook, WaPo, NYT, Howard Fineman, and Politico all are saying the Republicans risk overplaying their hand on these scandals. Did they all coincidently arrive at that judgment independently, or is this the groupthink we can expect in the age of twitter?

Republicans need to be cautious how they proceed. The media have a lot invested in the Obama presidency. They sacrificed whatever objectivity they had to become advocates to help get him elected and re-elected, and they are determined to do whatever they can to ensure he goes down in history as a successful president.

I take all of those stories mentioned above to be threats. As crazy as this sounds, it appears to me those folks are more eager to push stories suggesting Republicans have over-reached than they are to cover the actual scandals and investigations themselves. That sounds paranoid and black helicopterish, I know, but I really think it is true.

As we’ve known for years, in fact decades, the corrupt media is a big problem. I don’t know how it can be fixed.

FAX machines and email make for a wonderfully coordinated messaging campaign.

BannedbytheGuardian in reply to MaggotAtBroadAndWall. | May 17, 2013 at 11:10 pm

From my days at theGuardian – I have considerable knowledge of jourOlista Tomasky. I took a peek over at then beast where he resides & saw him doing the exact jounOlista stuff.

He basically admitted some wrongs on the IRS & said an apology is enough &. Lets move on. On Benghazi he actually called the hearings PHONEY. Yeah like the guy in Tripoli did not have any credibility. The beast let another piece state the emails as supporting the admin .

Tomasky – a liberal Jewish person living in Montgomery county Maryland just is plain in love with Obama.
    .
They have everything invested in him.

Good to see more people awakening to these longstanding debacles.

Can we now look into BHO’s parentage and whether he was eligible to be installed into the office? I submit the rules say he was ineligible if his parents are as claimed.

Of course the president denies any knowledge of this, do es anyone think he would write down in a memo, “Hey we need to destroy the ability of the opposition to organize. lets audit and harass them with the weight of the the government.”. One need only take a look at the scope and intensity of all these operations all at once to get an idea of the scope and breadth of what is really a giant criminal conspiracy. Obama is at the center of it. He is obviously the kingpin. He should be impeached for this. This was a deliberate attack on the fundamental liberties guaranteed to all citizens. This is stuff we declared our independence from England over.

Attack Watch and the other one… were they used to provide audit targets?

Paul in reply to CREinstein. | May 17, 2013 at 8:25 pm

Good question. All this nonsense with people asking ‘who is responsible for this’ baffles my mind. Has everyone not seen the videos of obama saying ‘…we need to punish our enemies…’?

The IRS deliberately interfered with a segment of the electorate’s rights under law to employ legal means of free speech and free association. The IRS imposed costs and illegal searches that had a chilling effect on participation. This is more than scandalous. It’s a systematic breech of the Constitution. It’s the very kind of tyrannical action that our Union was founded to abolish and prevent.

Imagine had the IRS targeted black groups! Or Jewish groups! Pigford is small potatoes compared to this!

All who participated in this must be charged with felony conspiracy and thereby be prevented from ever holding a position of authority and from ever participating in an election again. This includes all superiors, especially the chief executive.

P.S. Someone should immediately file a 501(c)3 application for a tea party anti-tyranny legal defense foundation and initiate the largest class-action suit ever seen. Get several billion in damages in reparation for disenfranchisement, and spend it on tea party candidates in 2014 and 2016!

The big story — the history will record– will be what the GOP does, or does not do, in reaction.

To paraphrase from long ago: “What did the president not know and when did he not know it?”
