Protest, but which one?

Protest, but which one?

My first reaction was that the sticker was a pro-2nd Amendment protest.  But on reflection, I’m thinking it’s anti-gun in reaction to the Newtown shooting.

From commenter Markinct:

Seen in Hartford, CT on the 15th of January…

A Prius in the Northeast? Check

Bumper sticker extolling the virtues of organic food? CHECK.

A “You’ve Entered Gun Country” bumper sticker? whaaat?

I’m not sure what’s more applicable, “Cognitive Dissonance”, or “A study in contrasts…”

I love your blog, and its collegiate offspring. I’ve been a reader for quite some time, and finally got around to registering (as markinct)… I promise not to get too chatty in the comments.

There are a number of thoughts on this. Between Hartford and Springfield (MA) you have the ops of Colt and Smith & Wesson, certainly stalwarts of gun manufacturing, and something that really troubles progressives. But the Prof probably has it right, and this is a protest against the fact that the shooters mom was a proud and prolific gun owner.

That window decal (lower right), almost kinda’ looks like a Marine Corp decal

DAMN! Forgot it’s Marine Corpse, correct barry? As in Benghazi or Algeria. Pick one with more to come, with little barry alinsky..

This could be a conservative’s vehicle. A tiny percentage of Pious drivers are not bitten with liberalism and simply drive them for low cost of ownership, and fewer gas tax dollars to the govt. There are also some conservatives that see the GMO producers sick claws stuck into congress and think it is atrocious that these companies get away with blinding the market to their food manipulation. We do not have the freedom in this country to make an informed decision about what we buy in the supermarket. Every GMO should be labeled as such, and the market should get to flesh out who wins and who loses. Our government IS in the pocket of these few companies and capitalism gets treated with a blindfold. The only reason that “The right to know what where our food comes from” is absent from our founding documents and all 18th century discussion of rights is because modern food production wasn’t even a thing back then. Real competiton for grocery dollars is stifled. I don’t see this as a liberal position on this issue. I see this as an absence of liberty, but what else is new?

What could be more organic than shooting and eating free grazing wild animals?
