Mandate-mess

Mandate-mess

The only mandate Obama has is to force people to buy health care insurance, thanks to John Roberts.

Obama has spun a tax hike mandate from his victory, but that’s not why he won.

From The Boston Globe article about why Obama beat Romney:

Exit polls told a stunning story. The majority of voters preferred Romney’s visions, values, and leadership. But he had clearly failed to address the problem that Romney’s own family worried about from the start. Obama beat Romney by an astonishing 81 to 18 percent margin on the question of which candidate “cares about people like me.”

The House needs to stay strong.

Professor, do you ever feel like Churchill during the wilderness years desperately trying to warn anyone who will listen as to the peril that awaits if they continue on the present course?

Echos… Echos… That is all that seems to resonate from these clear warnings.

History is replete with examples of what goes wrong when a people turn away from their foundational principles and mores to embrace a decadent lifestyle that is afforded by the labor of others?

As the Professor says over at Instapundit, that which cannot be sustained, will not.

And yet, we have seen the danger since this rotten man showed up during the 2008 presidential campaign. It was as plain as the nose on your face that he was an existential threat to the very form of government that we cherish.

Obama beat Romney by an astonishing 81 to 18 percent margin on the question of which candidate “cares about people like me.”

One of the many ironies of the 2012 election was the fact that a majority of voters chose a man who merely pretends to care about them over one who actually cares. Until Obama started running for national office, he’d never made any significant donations to charity (based on his tax returns). Romney, by contrast, has been a remarkably generous man all his life, even before he amassed his Bain wealth. I’m not aware of a single story about Obama or his wife ever doing a spontaneous act of kindness for a stranger in need; there are many such stories about Romney’s various kindnesses, spanning several decades.

The 2012 election was the triumph of myth over reality, in more ways than one.

Rehabilitation is hard. Welfare is deceptively easy. It seems many people chose the quick fix if only for perception’s sake. This is actually good, because they recognize their shallow motivations. There is still hope for America.

Half the electorate thinks obama cares about them. Ha!! and double ha!!! He cares about no one but himself and his ideology. He is intent on destroying this country as we know it and these fools can’t see it. I read on one of the blogs that young people 18 to 24 are living on the streets because they have no jobs or money. Some have jobs but don’t make enough to rent a room. We reap what we sow. They voted for this guy in droves. I can find very little sympathy for them. Already the libs are talking about finding a way to get him elected in 2016. If this happens we will nover get rid of this guy.

I don’t think they need to get Obama re-elected in 2016, they will just find another just like him. Maybe this this time it will be a latino or maybe a woman(Hillary). As long as that person follows the party line they’ll be nominated.

Of course anyone who vote against the Dem canidate is a racist, misogynist or homophobe.

How can the House ‘stay strong’ with a talentless, pathetic, backstabbing coward at the helm? The Tea Party is the one ‘staying strong,’ pushing back against Boehner’s capitulation.

Until Boehner is removed as Speaker, we will live in chaos, and myth of Obama’s ‘caring’ will grow under the work of corrupt cows like Candy Crowley.

ENOUGH WITH A GOP FAILURE AS SPEAKER. ENOUGH!

As a comparison to one who is deemed to be a tyrant in a dying society.

Putin just held an open press conference for over 1000 journalists not just journOlists. There were critical questions unlike a DC luvfest.

What is more -it went for over 4 1/2 hours.

Russia is trying to rebuild their culture eg the newest addition to The Mariinsky Theatre is due to be opened at a cost of $400 million. there are now 3 full orchestras each specializing in Russian /Strauss Wagner /other.

They have also banned overseas adoptions & get this -especially to America! Toons reporter that complained about this presumed human rights violation -Putin told him he was a Sado Masochist.

Putin’s mandate is for Russia.

Not so sure about Obama’s ..

Oy. The most coherent presentation I’ve seen of why Romney lost a race he should have won going away…comes from the Boston Globe.

Hopefully I’m wrong, but I fear we haven’t seen the bottom yet.

Not to be a scrooge on Christmas Eve, but, so as not to demoralize, I kept my lips zipped during the campaign. My concerns were validated: in fact, the butt-kicking exceeded my worst expectations.

If you think keeping your lips zipped negatively affected your life, wait till you see what keeping them zipped now does to you in the coming years.

And WHY are your lips zipped?

I think was gs was saying was that he kept his lips zipped about Romney’s chances after the primaries. I was the same way myself. I though Romney was the wrong choice all along and I didn’t vote for him in the primary. But once he became “our guy”, I swore to myself that I wasn’t going to be a back-biter.

To recap, Romney was a Wall St. insider at a time when Wall St. insiders (aided and abetted by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, et. al.) pretty much destroyed the U.S. economy. Romney taught Obama how to do Obamacare. Romney’s views on the environment are almost identical to those of AlGore. His TV presence was cold and inarticulate. I never once heard him mention the Constitution. He was (and still is) a big government crony-capitalist.

All that said, I held my nose and voted for him, not that it made any difference.

According to Tagg Romney:

After failing to win the 2008 Republican nomination, Romney told his family he would not run again and had to be persuaded to enter the 2012 White House race by his wife Ann and son Tagg.

“He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life. He had no desire… to run,” Tagg Romney said. “If he could have found someone else to take his place… he would have been ecstatic to step aside.”

Mitt Romney “is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them. He loves his country, but he doesn’t love the attention,” his son said.

Stuff like this and comments from Romney’s campaign manager that he now understands why Obama had so many campaign workers, just blow my mind.

Moderates just want to be loved – but they do not want to work to win. The real proof is that Romney has disappeared from the political landscape.

Hopefully this topic can be researched into a major thesis. I can’t possibly imagine why Manuel and Suzy, living in Indianapolis, would give a rat’s rear end if the POTUS cares or not for them. One way or the other the nation is lost.

Disagree on ‘the nation being lost.’

We have suffered a staggering blow, but we still have the House, which is gigantic. We need to come back in full force.

Step one: dump the GOP leadership in the House and dump Preibus as national chairman. Step two: have zero RINO — ZERO — tolerance for the new GOP leadership we install.

You’ll be surprised at what we will be able to get done: namely, momentum. With that momentum, we can start to dismantle Obamacare and Dodd-Frank.

    “…the nation is lost.”

I’m getting tired of hearing this from conservatives on forums. If you REALLY believe this, then go eat a bullet. For the rest of us that choose to remain, we need to man up.

Many put their hopes in the House to stop or at least slow down the Obama agenda (plan A), but we didn’t realize just how spineless our “leaders” are. I view this as an OPPORTUNITY: how often in our lives do we get this kind of clarity? Now that we know how bad they are, we can replace them and then proceed with the original plan.

This is a retooling of the party along the same lines as the 1968 Democratic shakeup. This is just the beginning.

Agree, the “cares about people like me” question is ridiculous and irrelevant – but it has been the clearest and most consistent predictor of who would win a Presidential election since it was first asked in 1976.

That the big phony Obama could fool such a large segment of the American electorate is the even more disturbing realization. Apparently we’re not only childish, we are actually stupid.

From Jesse Watters’ Fox News “Watters World” Hawaii interviews
” I voted Obama because if Romney win, no more foodstamps”

Barack Obama is the man whom the Founders feared enough to grant the people the Second Amendment, far in advance of the later Universal Suffrage Amendments.
They did that so the people could redress their grievances under the rule of a man like Obama, whose espousal of such a relentlessly encroaching, all encompassing tyrannical government threatened to make the Founders little experiment in personal liberty and self rule disappear meekly, mildly, and silently into the night like the Jews of Europe, 1933-1945.

It’s a mistake to count on the House. We gave them the people to defund ObamaCare in Nov. 2010 and they wouldn’t even allow the topic to come up. Boehner put the issue into a committee for over a year where it remained “backed up.” That’s just one example. The GOP bosses, the Bush crowd, and their bully pulpit Fox News aren’t about to “see the light” even if we do get rid of Boehner. Crushing us is all that matters and they’ve pulled out all stops in the attempt. Maintaining hope that this will change is akin to battered wife syndrome. Many of these people were involved in destroying this country and lifetimes of work and sacrifice. They haven’t apologized. Instead, they’re still around attacking right of center Americans who’ve played by the rules all their lives and in return are hated and ridiculed by political parties, media and Hollywood. Priebus is going nowhere, he just installed 2 more Bush cronies on one of his committees. We have no political party. The Bush crowd and Fox News control what is left of the GOP. We have nothing to lose by talking about it 24/7. Rush Limbaugh cannot be counted on to help though he knows this is the problem (When Rush’s back is to the wall he sides with the establishment). Mark Levin is the leader on this.
