Newt is out there all the time helping to pound on the Obama record. The supposedly bitter Newt is proving himself to be the class act his supporters always knew him to be. He’s put a fairly brutal beating behind him, and he’s doing everything he can to help.
But Santorum?
Can someone give me a link or something to Santorum helping to defeat Obama?

Newt Gingrich joined the ranks of Republicans crying fowl play over President Obama’s executive order over “Fast and Furious” documents demanded in a House investigation of the botched gun-tracking operation, likening the controversy to Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal.
“Had Richard Nixon after the break-ins turned over everything and said, ‘Let’s find out who’s guilty, get it over with, done, it would have been a blip,” Gingrich said on “The Kudlow Report” Wednesday. “It would have gone away. He would have served his term. History would have been different.”

Sigh. Why couldn’t our guy have been Newt?
Yes, I agree, as do millions of other Reagan Tea Party Conservatives do that Newt is the only who is currently a real Reagan Conservative, unfortunately he was to put it- Palinized by the so called mainstream media complex during the Primary campaign, as well as by the Romney GOP RINO establishment campaign, as we also have to fight both liberal progressive elemments in this political environment. This is the why we could not get Newt the Nomination, unfortunately.
This is truly a sad situation for all patriotic American people who need a strong constitutional conservative candidate and Presidential leader who not only knows what he is doing, but one wko knows what has been done to America within the framework of the govt, and knows how to fix it, but more importantly, has the will and the desire and determination to do so, to take back the nation agovt., and restore it and all of it’s bracnhes and bureaucracies back into the hands of normal sane pro-American coservative people.
Romney’s Presidency if elected will be a policy of expanded govt, more spending, more taxing, and the status quo.
Romney has neither the will, nor any desire to be conservative at all, let alone restore anything back to the people. Romney only cares about Romney. He does not care about America, the US Constitution, Democracy, etc..
Romney will only act in whatever interest is in Romney’s interest, not what is in the American People’s interest,ie; in America’s interest, in Democracy’s interest, and in Freedom’s and Liberty’s interest. Thus, Romney will only serve to exasperate the already convoluted and polluted political sitaution we are now in.
Honestly, I’m willing to give Mr. Santorum a pass on this – his little girl has a fatal condition, and it appears as if her health is becoming more fragile by the day.
They don’t know how much longer they have with her; I guess I figure that time spent with a sick child takes priority over helping a candidate run for office.
There will be plenty of time to help out with campaigns in the future….

Was he maybe picked up by the Mother Ship, because he’s so badly misunderstood here? Otherwise, I believe that he’d have gotten past whatever he was needing to get past, sucked it up and taken the fight to the common enemy. Whatever future he has left in the GOP is not going to weather this well.

Righteous Rick was not misunderstood here. Rick continually exposed himself as a liar and his mostly-missing Christian ethics stunk up America. Rick was about Rick – as demonstrated most by his decision to enter the presidential race despite his daughter’s fragile health.
Patriot Voices appears (at least from the website) to be yet another endeavor to permit Santorum to extract some contributions from his admiring fans. My opinion is that Rick should go job hunting.

My feeling is that he’s the Republican version of Joe Biden and as such, would not be that much of an asset to the Romney campaign.

Take Romeny’s tepid statements regarding Obama’s blatantly lawless acts on immigration.
So you want to battle Obama on this issue while Obama is screwing up? Romney is doing the exact right thing. Just articulate your general position and get out of the way.
Romney went right back to talking about the economy and previewing what he would do when Thursday’s decision comes down. The MSM is dying to trip Romney up on immigration.But they couldn’t. He’s just too disciplined right now. Romney’s stump speeches are great and crowds are responding to him.
Maybe you’re not looking at the polls but Romney seems to be doing pretty good. I think he’s building a wave.
Newt is the Elder Statesman for our Party. He has been fighting for our future tooth and nail for 30 years. How could not fight for us now?

3. (OT) Note to Romney: if you don’t reach out to Palin & if you don’t try to negotiate a role for her at the convention, you’re making a serious mistake.
Similar considerations hold for most if not all of your primary oppoents except Johnson, who is running third-party. In contrast to business where everybody humbly requests an appointment with the new CEO, it’s your proactive job to unite the diverse constituencies within the GOP.

I saw Rick Santorum on a show commenting about Obama’s evolution and religious liberty about two or three weeks ago.
He looked well rested and said he was spending time with his family, especially Bella and as I recall he suspended his campaign after her second visit to the hospital.
Santorum has been a **** when it comes to Romney. I know he is dealing with a severely ill daughter (god bless her) but a statement directly supporting Romney would go a long long way. The longer he stays silent, the more he damages his standing in the party.
Romney is running a very shrewd campaign. I really liked how he stayed away from the immigration issue and kept a more general policy stance. A better time for him to hone in on this will happen later.
He is going to compete in states that Democrats don’t think will be possible if Obama keeps this stuff up. Obama may have run a great campaign to get elected, but, right now, his campaign to get re-elected is awful. Thursday could be a very bad day for Obama.
As far as Newt is concerned I woukld love for Romney to appoint Newt to his Cabinet or staff in some capacity.

Santorum said in an unusual late-night statement that the two have differences, but that he came away from a meeting with the ex-Massachusetts governor impressed with Romney’s “deep understanding” of economic and family issues central to the campaign.
“Above all else, we both agree that President (Barack) Obama must be defeated. The task will not be easy. It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious,” Santorum said.
I’ve caught him a couple of times on Talk radio in the last month… he’s very positive and upbeat, talks up Romney, hits on the Administrations over reach into the the average persons life through regulation.
That’s good then. He should amplify those type comments in a bigger way so more people see that he is all in. Is he on the Bennett show?

Because until we are given some indication that something has been requested of him I fail to see how he should be compelled to do anything other than tend to his own business. Him, at present, being a private citizen and all that entails.

His recent blatant immigration decrees seem to be a desperate attempt to cultivate advance good will, notwithstanding the prospect of antagonizing voters, and even though the individuals immediately benefited are not voters, in anticipation of public opinion that he was cavalier about the dangers to Mexicans from the gun runner shenanigans.

I was never a Santorum fan, and I’m glad he is not involved in this campaign. Rick is a one trick pony; all he is concerned about is social conservatism. It was as if he was running for Preacher-in-Chief, instead of Commander-in-Chief. On the economic and small government side, he has very little to contribute, so his presence in this election would only serve to polarize people even more on social issues. We don’t need that. We need to focus on the economy, free markets and the rule of law.

Rick Santorum is a Republican in good standing. He won 11 states or thereabouts. No slouch.
Seems I get emails from his Patriot Voices at least 3 times a week, for congressional and other candidates he supports. As I recall Mr. Jacobsen was all about trying to win more seats in congress. Mr. Jacobsen seems petty here, trying to pick a fight with an ally. Perhaps he was just missing some posters… ;^)))
For anyone that says Mr. Santorum was a one-trick pony, this illustrates that poster’s shallowness of thought. Anyone who doesn’t understand that “social conservatism” is at root about forming families capable of proper functioning, i.e., capable of forming a family, supporting a family and raising children into functional, self-supporting adults, doesn’t appreciate how basic and utterly necessary these functions are to society. Society is falling apart because of failure in this very basic institution.
Andy Breitbart thought culture was upstream from politics. From my perspective, I don’t necessarily agree. I think of divorce most often. In Georgia, you can get a divorce in 31 days. Thirty one days! This has made marriage less stable than cell phone contracts. When marriage is unstable, children’s lives are unstable. children with unstable lives do not do well in school, are more likely to be abused, then to become addicts, then to become either wards of the state, or imprisoned.

Just want to point out that Governor Rick Perry of Texas has made several excellent points recently that have been helpful and which will hopefully get the Ron Paul supporters to admit that sitting out is voting for Obama.
Maybe Rick decided to stay home to be near his sick child and all his other well children and wife. It is not like he doesn’t deserve a rest.
And maybe he has had enough of the campaign and plans to give it a rest until the convention. This would be considered normal in almost every other case in history…
It is not like those who support Rick are ever going to vote for Obama…

Why does the author CARE where Santorum is? There is no requirement that former rivals kiss and make up in the name of party unity, and really, why SHOULD Santorum do any of that when the party apparatus has been for Mitt from the start? Is the GOP that fragile that one man losing will destroy it forever or prevent the anointed one from winning if he does not endorse? No-one needs to endorse anyone; the demand to do so reflects a weak, feminized vision of reality characteristic of shallow and insipid beta-males everywhere. There are few things more sickening and more fake than former adversaries prostituting themselves for the winner, actually. I’d love it if Santorum said NOTHING about Mitt one way or the other. It’s to his shame that he has. What is Gary Johnson doing, just for a point of comparison? And how about Ron Paul?
Santorum is a private citizen now and he can do whatever he pleases for whatever reasons he wants to. Your claim on him has expired. But if you’re so concerned about a sizable number of GOP voters sitting out the race, look no further than the moral black hole that you’re supporting for the reasons why.
