Toulouse killer surrounded

Toulouse killer surrounded

Via The Times of Israel:

Mohammed Merah, the man suspected of the Toulouse Jewish school massacre, was still holed up in his house in northern Toulouse early Wednesday afternoon after a pre-dawn gun battle.

Merah had given up a pistol in exchange for a mobile phone, but still had powerful weapons, including an Uzi machine gun and a Kalashnikov assault rifle, Interior Minister Claude Gueant told French media….

During negotiations with police, Merah said he committed the attack out of a desire to avenge the deaths of Palestinian children by Israel….

The suspect is 24 years old and is of French nationality. He said “he belongs to al-Qaeda,” Gueant told reporters at the scene. He said the suspect “wants to take revenge for Palestinian children” killed in the Middle East, and is angry at the French military for its operations abroad.

Merah was known to authorities for having spent time in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Gueant said, adding that had been followed for “several years” by domestic intelligence.

French media sources said the suspect spent time training on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, where he adopted extremist ideology.

According to Reuters news agency, the head of Kandahar prison in Afghanistan, says Merah escaped from the prison in a mass Taliban jailbreak.

Merah also is suspected in other shootings, including targeting non-Jewish targets, as the NY Times made sure to point out, noting:

Before the authorities said on Wednesday that their prime suspect claimed ties to Al Qaeda, many analysts had speculated on whether he was motivated by extreme right-wing passions coinciding with the presidential elections.

Given how “anti-Muslim” speech by bloggers was blamed (unfairly) for the Norway shooting, I wonder if anti-Israel speech by the Boycott Divest Sanction movement, the groups behind the Gaza Flotillas, academic boycotters of Israeli universities, and others will be blamed for the killing of the Rabbi and his children in Toulouse.

Behold the ugly, horrid power of a lie, believed. (There is one account of his actions that is so disturbing that I was going to write it here but deleted it; it will find you soon enough.) Unthinkable. Unthinkable on its own. It takes a lot of desensitizing to get to that point; a lot of media input, a lot of bloody cinematic input, a lot of radical input.

I would hope that when the giggling pundits and leg-tinglers of the MSM have their little fun with the Lie, that they take a sober moment to consider where lies can lead, regardless of professed good intentions. Lies are never right. Ever.

Lies never lead to life, liberty, or happiness for anyone.

WSJ – TOULOUSE, France—French special forces were engaged in a standoff Wednesday with a Frenchman of Algerian descent, suspected of gunning down four people at a Jewish school and killing three soldiers in a string of attacks that have sparked outrage across the country.

French police named the suspect as Mohammed Merah, 24, from Toulouse, saying he has spent time in Afghanistan and Pakistan. During hours-long negotiations with police trying to secure his surrender, the man claimed to have links with al Qaeda, explaining that his goal was to avenge Palestinian children and object to the French army’s presence in Afghanistan.

Notice the transition……

The first reports said, “…unknown motives….”

Now they try to explain them away.

Call it what it is. Islamic terrorist hate -> in other words: EVIL.

Glad they got him before he could do more harm.

TIME’s global spin blog (aptly named) spins it this way ..

The suspect has been barricaded inside a house in eastern Toulouse, where officials say he has claimed membership with al Qaeda.

Oh so yesterday it’s Neo-Nazi’s who were “thought” to carry out this shooting.
I’m not going to sugar coat this, did anyone else not at all find this surprising? (Not the shooting it’s self, but the profile of the shooter.)

From the following article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/21/world/middleeast/israel-criticizes-eu-official-for-comments-on-french-school-attack.html?ref=europe

“In the latest cross-border violence between Israel and militant groups in Gaza, 26 Palestinians were killed over four days, according to the Israeli military. Most were militants, but four were civilians. A 12-year-old boy was among those killed in Israeli airstrikes; another boy, 14, was killed by explosives in disputed circumstances. In the same period, Palestinian militants fired over 150 rockets into southern Israel, none of which claimed a life.”

Couldn’t help but notice the last line, which this author seemed to feel compelled to write. That’s a comment on the terrorists’ aim, not their intentions.

Wonderful comment about the intent and aim. But that’s a common ploy of the anti-Israel MSM and crowd, to minimize the rockets and cast Israel as the big bad bully, the Goliaths vs. the Davids just armed with slingshots. Of course this is utter tripe of the worst kind.

A friend of mine just visited the town of Ashdod, which is in range of the rockets and has had them hit there. He says it’s a town of >200,000 people. He said to imagine a similarly sized town in America, under fire from rocket attacks with no other aim but to sow terror and inflict death.

    What would we do?

Israel tries to do these limited strikes and is pretty successful, considering that the terrorists hide literally amongst the rest of the Gaza civilian population.

But what would we do? What would ANY country do if a town of 200,000 was to come under incessant rocket fire?

You’d like to think we would decimate them. With our current leadership, we’d probably just give them very stern warnings to stop. “Let me be very clear…I don’t bluff…blah blah blah”

“, I wonder if anti-Israel speech by the Boycott Divest Sanction movement, the groups behind the Gaza Flotillas, academic boycotters of Israeli universities, and others will be blamed for the killing of the Rabbi and his children in Toulouse.”

No you don’t.

Islam has it all wrong.

Vengeance, judgment and justice belong to GOD and a legitimate national judge and court which will hopefully render judgment upon legitimate evidence.

In all of Scripture, God does not ever approve the shedding of Innocent Blood. EVER. Any reference to slaying children and women is hyperbole and a literary reference to the spiritual sin in the heart of men that must be guarded against. God always calls humanity to compassion, mercy for the young, helpless, innocent, and to repentance and redemption.

Killing is to be done only in self defense or defense of a nation.

If a person does not repent of murderous ways (terrorism), their blood is on their own heads (as the terrorists given freedom for the life of Gilad Shalit were warned if they return to their sins.)

This man and many others have trespassed God’s domain and jurisdiction and violated His protection over human life. Honor-killings, revenge killings, hate killings, greed and lust killings, abortion, eugenics, euthanasia, IVF, sperm/egg donors (as well as sexual promiscuity, porn and adultery) are all evil in God’s eyes.

Even soldiers returning from war, need care and cleansing to prevent them from becoming violent, blood-thirsty, vengeful…haters.

[Deuteronomy 32: 35-43, Psalm 94:1, Romans 12:19, Hebrews 10:30, Proverbs 4:23]

Islam has become a religion/political system that produces men and nations that are the opposite of God in law, purpose and character.

Islam produces the opposite of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25)

Islam produces behaviors more vile than the KKK, Hitler, Stalin…more vile because they claim to do their works in the Name of God…and they persecute Christians and Jews.

In a sane world, Islam would not be tolerated, but any person or nation practicing it would be banned from the fellowship of nations.

I condemn any practice of Islam. It is rotten to its core texts. There is no possible reform for Islam, only repentance and renunciation.

[…] Given how “anti-Muslim” speech by bloggers was blamed (unfairly) for the Norway shooting, I wonder if anti-Israel speech by the Boycott Divest Sanction movement, the groups behind the Gaza Flotillas, academic boycotters […]

You may think right-wing bloggers were “unfairly” blamed for the horrific events in Norway, but the shooter himself seemed to be pretty influenced by them.

Maybe it’s time to consider taking some ‘personal responsibility’ for a change, instead of circling the wagons and ducking under the table.

From the Melanie Phillips blog in the UK Daily Mail …

When the Toulouse school massacre happened, the media rushed to say that the perpetrator was a white far-right racist. The lone gunman had mowndown at close range a rabbi and three children at a Jewish school, wounding several others. He was thought to be the same killer who a few days earlier had murdered three black French paratroopers in two separate attacks. A killer who targeted Jews and blacks – must be a far-right white racist, right?

Wrong. The suspect who the French police have now cornered turns out to be a jihadi Islamic terrorist which self-declared links to al Qaeda, who has made trips to Afghanistan and Pakistan in the past. Well, there’s a surprise.

“extreme right wing passions”

That seems at odds with a snippet I read from Claire Berlinski at Ricochet a day or two ago, who was linking to comments from a man in Paris named Arun Kapil who reported on a big rally of leftists and communists in France:

“Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s Front de Gauche staged a big march this afternoon, from Place de la Nation to the Place de la Bastille, culminating in an address by Mélenchon to the masses in front of the Bastille Opera. The event was a huge success. There were several tens of thousands, considerably more than the 30,000 that had been predicted. It was the biggest march in France of the peuple de gauche not directly organized by trade unions in a very long time, with legions of aging PCF militants, probably every last member of Mélenchon’s own Parti de Gauche, and activists from other sundry hard left associations and groupings. People of all ages. The other campaigns were certainly following the event very closely, particularly Hollande’s—which will be concerned by its success, as it wants as many of these folks as possible to vote for him in round one—and Sarkozy’s, which will be pleased by the success, as they hope Mélenchon will create problems for Hollande.”

Media enthusiasm for the story and distribution of its sympathy between victims and perpetrators in these shootings always waxes and wanes with how well emerging facts support the narrative: pick one, Virginia Tech, Congressman Giffords, Norway, Fast and Furious, and now this in France. Oh, then there’s Nidal Hasan who shot and killed thirteen in front of a room full of witnesses. Where’s the press enthusiasm for his trial? Why hasn’t he been hung yet? Could it be because the victims were GIs, he is Muslim, and the facts don’t fit the narrative?

“Given how “anti-Muslim” speech by bloggers was blamed (unfairly) for the Norway shooting, I WONDER if anti-Israel speech by the Boycott Divest Sanction movement, the groups behind the Gaza Flotillas, academic boycotters of Israeli universities, and others will be blamed for the killing of the Rabbi and his children in Toulouse.”

Since you are wondering, there should be a question mark at the end of that great big, fat rhetorical question.

The farcical and gratuitous charges that Israel is the world’s number one human rights abuser by anti-Israel groups … being blamed for an islamist gunning down Jewish children …

All I can say is, “That’s funny. Tell me another one!”

The media can see things that aren’t there, e.g., a connection between Jared Loughner and Sarah Palin’s map, the tea party, talk radio, etc.

And the same media can not see things that are there, right before their eyes, e.g., the toxic, reckless accusations against Israel which inflame the easily inflammable.

Note: just to clarify, when I say,

All I can say is, “That’s funny. Tell me another one!”

I mean that as in, “It’s funny to imagine the media actually doing it’s job in regards to Israel.”

How about: OBAMA releases freedom fighter; sends him to tolerant France where he can freely practice his religion of peace.
