Any self-respecting liberal should be screaming, “Gloria STOP trying to help.”

Any self-respecting liberal should be screaming, “Gloria STOP trying to help.”

Gloria Allred just couldn’t help herself, she had to get in on the Sandra Fluke / Rush Limbaugh story.

Allred has gone public with a letter she sent to officials in Florida seeking to have Rush prosecuted under a Florida law, which makes it a misdemeanor, with respect to a woman, to “falsely and maliciously imput[e] to her a want of chastity.”

Via HuffPo:

A high-profile attorney is calling for Rush Limbaugh to be prosecuted for calling a college student a “slut” and a “prostitute” on his radio show.

Gloria Allred sent a letter to the Palm Beach County Attorney’s Office saying an obscure defamation statute should be used against Limbaugh. That law says it’s a misdemeanor to falsely and maliciously question a woman’s chastity.

In an interview Friday, Allred said Limbaugh “should have to bear the consequences of his extremely outrageous” conduct.

Limbaugh lives on Palm Beach and broadcasts his nationally syndicated show from there.

The county attorney’s office doesn’t handle criminal matters and forwarded the letter to the state attorney for Palm Beach County, who had no immediate comment.

Put aside that a prosecution under the statute would require proving that Ms Fluke is “chaste,” and therefore would expose her sexual life to scrutiny.  I could be wrong, but it seems unlikely for a 30-year old birth control advocate, but hey, stranger things have happened.  And in this day and age, who knows what “chastity” means.

Put aside that if this law actually were enforced, hundreds if not thousands of liberal comics, TV personalities, Hollywood actors, and music stars would have to be rounded up.  (Every cloud has a silver lining.)

Any self-respecting liberal should be screaming, “Gloria STOP trying to help.  You’re killing us by perpetuating centuries-old stereotypes about a woman’s lack of chastity being shameful.”

But there don’t seem to be many self-respecting liberals left, because all is fair in the War on Rush.  Nico Pitney, Managing Editor of HuffPo, has a thrill running up his leg:

Gloria Allred. Black’s new illustrated edition’s exemplar for “irrelevant”.

If I were Rush, I’d be sitting in my mansion and saying, “Goria, bring it on!”
I’m glad that something brings a tingle to Nico’s life.

Gloria Allred = Ambulance chaser extraordinaire.

If Sandra Fluke really is a 30 year old virgin then that is highly commendable. Perhaps she should be using her energy and example to promote that virtue rather than doing the dirty work of an organization that promotes early sexualization of children and pushes abortions and birth control.

Samuel Keck | March 9, 2012 at 3:50 pm

Man, oh man! What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall when Ms. Fluke has to testify under oath. 🙂

Hey Gloria: it’s also illegal in Florida to engage in U.P.L. (the unlicensed practice of law).

Nico is Italian for homo.

In these situations, a letter like this is probably not an end in itself, it’s the preliminary to a lawsuit.

The lawsuit against Rush will be announced at a press conference. Shortly after that, the poor maligned woman’s attorney will let it be known to Rush’s attorney(s) that the whole thing can be made to go away for only a few million dollars.

I look forward to Rush’s answer.

You know what Rush’s answer is going to be: “Bring it, b****es. I’ll see you in court!”

The man is worth $400 million. He can buy the best attorneys and private investigators at his disposal. And those PIs can take out of any hole every last boyfriend of that chick (because she DOES NOT deserve to be called a “woman”)- even those unlucky guys who have had one-night stands with her…

This is going nowhere, and they know it.

    I R A Darth Aggie in reply to irv. | March 9, 2012 at 4:59 pm

I believe the answer would be: Ms. Fluke, discovery works both ways.

theduchessofkitty in reply to irv. | March 9, 2012 at 7:36 pm

Forget lawsuit. She wants him arrested! Did y’all hear that, Dittoheads?

She wants war. Methinks she’s going to get it.

No prosecutor is going to touch this with a 10-foot pole. EVER

If they even TRY Rush’s attorneys would eat them for breakfast on a false arrest charge and a malicious prosecution charge, and then have that attorney DISBARRED for abuse of the legal system.

A trial would go like this: “Prosecutor, present your witness” [Prosecutor calls Fluke, gives testimony], Defense cross-examination “Ms. Fluke, are you a virgin?” [Fluke response] “No.” [Defense] Your Honor, we move for a directed verdict of ‘Not Guilty.'” (motion granted).

Rush would win in the criminal trial, and then sue whatever department decided to attempt to prosecute for failure to present ANY position where Ms. Fluke was ‘chaste.’ Secondarily, actual malice (which is likely what is required by the statute) is an INCREDIBLY high burden to prove.

I guess the Left has now given up even pretending they’re not fascists.

Gloria Allred is as welcome and as unexpected as the Spanish Inquisition (Monty Pythons fans understand).

The woman confessed in from of a TV camera in an unofficial Congressional hearing that she was having so much sex that she couldn’t afford the contraception necessary.

What precisely remains of her alleged chastity?

I ask again, what terms would one use to describe a female who publicly flaunts her extraordinarily promiscuous behavior?

I think Rush erred by using the words he used and played into their hands. But the fact remains that the female flaunted her promiscuous behavior in front of camera. Now an attorney wants to claim Rush imputed her “chastity?” Good luck with that…

Hahahahahahaha!!! She’s a major joke.

Ms. Allred has to have a near-daily press conference; otherwise she’s afraid she’ll be irrelevant.

What? What’s that you say?

First of all, he didn’t call her a slut. Or a Prostitute.

Read the transcript.

You can say that he insinuated she was…

And I can say she insinuated she was..

    n.n in reply to Browndog. | March 9, 2012 at 6:03 pm

Really? I have only read it as a quote. If not, then what have we been talking about? This is entertainment par ridiculous.

      Browndog in reply to n.n. | March 9, 2012 at 6:20 pm

“What does that make her? A Slut? A prostitute?”

Sounds like an open question to me….in a legal sense.

dmacleo in reply to Browndog. | March 9, 2012 at 8:42 pm

I’ve been stressing this to people.
those that bothered to read transcript will also notice the rest of us were asked if that made us pimps and johns.
it really was a rhetorical question that was immediately misquoted (purposely) and misused.

In my daytime fantasies, I dream I’m somehow involved in some national culural kerfluffle that makes me a potential useful idiot for the lefties. Hoping to milk my situation for their political gain, they send in Gloria Allred to be my mowtpeece (it’s like a yoot). I go along, never revealing my true political and philosophical proclivities, and secretly note down all the bullcrap we know goes on while they set these things up. In my dream, Gloria Allred succeeds in creating a fever-hot ‘issue’ which is all over cable news and the blogosphere, the hottest story going. I wait and bide a wee and at the best possible moment, I call a press conference – without Gloria Allred – and lay out every little dirty trick and greasy piece of malfeasance perpetrated by the liberal machine to punch up this false ‘crisis’ I find myself in. I become a Conservative Hero, make the rounds of all the best radio shows, write guest columns all over blogworld, and then… then I win back the love and affection of my first and only true love, the sweet, sweet, not quite petite Janet Reno.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh…………..

2nd Ammendment Mother | March 9, 2012 at 4:46 pm

Could it be possible that what many thought was Rush’s screw up could deliver a windfall instead? There is just not many ways that this turns out well for the left…. but, just in case, keep your eyes on the man behind the curtain – these guys are always up to something.

VetHusbandFather in reply to 2nd Ammendment Mother. | March 10, 2012 at 10:27 am

I think so. Most liberals already ‘know’ that conservatives hate women. They didn’t need Rush to validate something that their liberal overlords have told them is true. All this is doing is drawing attention to the fact that their far left idols ‘also’ hate women. Now if they keep shining enough light on this maybe they’ll even realize that left has been lying about the right’s hatred of women.

“Any self-respecting liberal. . . ”

Was TG&Y having an oxymoron sale?

Wait! Hold it. Hang on!

I think the good professor is playing a joke on us. We should have known. The title of the post clearly indicates he wasn’t serious.

“Any self-respecting liberal should be screaming…”

Clearly there is no such thing as a “self-respecting liberal!”

Looks like he caught us again!

Maybe Ms. Allred could drag out that lovely woman, Mr. Bialik, she “represented” in the Herman Cain smear campaign and we can do a presser with Fluke et al and get the “chastity” question out of the way all together.

I am certain she is “chaste,” at least in the sense that her proclivities do not run towards men…

@Browndog – Exactly. I’m not a Rush fan, think he “stepped in it”, and handed the barbarians an opportunity to rage. But he did not – did *not* – actually “call her a slut, prostitute”.

Which is one reason why Allred doesn’t have a case.

Gloria Allred..lawyer for bimbo brigade.

I smell a weekend worth of entertainment coming — curtsey of Allred and Fluck.

In Detroit they wanted to legalize Prostitution, along with Marijuana in the city as well.

Just don’t call them out for being an ignorant Fluke or they’ll sue.

Isn’t also a crime to falsely accuse someone of a crime? Please come to WPB, Gloria.

All chaste women need free birth control.

know how rush should reply?

“bring it, slut”

it would be this century’s version of “nuts!”

I am not entirely sure, but it seemed that today, Rush’s “Open Line Friday” spiel took on a new twist, emphasizing increased interest in his show. (Highlighting is mine.)

RUSH: And there are probably a lot of people today who don’t know what Open Line Friday is. For you insiders, for those of you who are regular, for those of you who have been here for all 23-plus years, 24 years in August, please indulge me while I ‘splain this to the new arrivals. First here’s the telephone number for everybody if you want to be on the program. 800-282-2882, the e-mail address, and we check the e-mail, although it’s so voluminous, we had to add servers to handle it. [email protected].

Luckily, Gloria still lives in LA where it is still legal to whip your wife with a strap so long as the strap is under two inches wide. Of course, wider straps are allowed with the wife’s permission.

Well, well, well -the left is getting more just desserts.

The Conservative women’s group, ShePAC, has struck back at the vulgarities they have endured from the left with this video:
http://www.therightscoop.com/shepacs-brutal-takedown-of-obama-and-bill-maher/

And, either in a fit of conscience Louis CK cancels his appearance with Maher, saying, he just didn’t feel like it. – http://www.therightscoop.com/louis-c-k-cancels-on-radio-tv-correspondents-dinner/

Hopefully, his conscience has been hurting, and he had a change of heart.

Maybe someone close to him is putting pressure on him to clean up his act.

Could it be that just maybe attacks on women are now out of favor with both left and right.

Or could someone in high places said to put the brakes on at least during this election cycle…then it will be vile epithet and threat against conservative women season again right after the votes are cast.

We’ll see.

It’s a shame Gloria doesn’t represent herself in court. That way, she could work with both her favorite attorney and her favorite client.

Shocker: Sandra Fluke Being Handled By Former Obama Administration Official

. It turns out that Fluke is being handled by a political operative firm headed by former Obama administration member Anita Dunn.

EXCLUSIVE: Voters targeted with illegal robocalls linking Republican politicians to Rush Limbaugh’s ‘slut’ gaffe
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2112945/Rush-Limbaugh-Voters-targeted-illegal-robocalls-linking-Republican-politicians-slut-gaffe.html
A group calling itself ‘The Women of the 99 Percent’ is making robocalls across the United States in an attempt to link Republican members of the House of Representatives to ‘the war on women led by Rush Limbaugh’.

The automated calls are illegal because they do not state who they are from (there is no known group called The Women of the 99 Percent) or provide a callback number, as required under the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.

They appear to be the most aggressive attempt yet by Democrats to exploit politically the recent furor over comments by the controversial conservative radio talk show host.

    hehe.

The real strange thing is that INFERTILITY is the most pressing issue of women.

Case in point . EVERY one of those whiny Dixie Chicks needed Multiple IVF treatments.

Speak to any 30s Dem voting married woman – kids are not that easy to come by. This does include no decent lib men though.

Volokh had a convincing take-down of Allred’s nonsense, but you have to recognize her genius for free publicity.

Gads, I used to have to go to events with Ms. Aldred. Before Obama, I really thought she was the saddest narcissist in the paddock. Bitter clinger has a new neck to be yoked to.
