Fast and Furious, and what 2010 meant

Fast and Furious, and what 2010 meant

While many of us (and I’ll plead guilty as well) have been preoccupied with the primaries, and today with the Mitt and Donald Show, very important hearings were held today on the Fast and Furious scandal.

If you don’t think it’s critical to control the House, imagine how this would be buried if Nancy Pelosi still were Speaker.

And if you don’t think it’s important not only to control the House but to do so with members who are willing to fight, consider the performance of first-term upstate New York Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle who defeated incumbant Democrat Dan Maffei in 2010:

It is worth mentioning that Buerkle’s candidacy was helped by a number of small bloggers, particularly Sam Foster of The Lonely Conservative, and others like Robert Stacy McCain and Pete “DaTechGuy” Ingemi (who both stopped by my house in Ithaca on their way to cover the race).  Maffei is going to try to unseat Buerkle and it is a target race for Democrats.  You can support Buerkle here.

The story of today’s hearings and the status of the investigation is covered in depth by Michelle Malkin, The Daily Caller, Verum Serum, and Nice Deb, among other places.

Holder is continuing in the pattern he established when he was in DOJ in the Clinton years.

Involved in Ruby Ridge,Waco,Oklahoma City , the Rich pardon and the FALN pardon but all the while saying he didn’t do enough digging and homework on all these issues. He never read important documents that crossed his desk.

Why the congress ever confirmed him as AG is one of those things that history will be written about.

Well.. to deny Holder the job would have been portrayed as racist by Obama and the media. We didn’t have the Tea party yet to stand up to Obama.

In that clip, notice Mr. Holder’s body language when he responds to Ms. Buerkle’s questioning … always looking down and away and has a hard time looking her in the eye while he’s speaking.

To me, that an indicator as to the veracity of his responses.

This is a dog and pony show. No one important is going to be held accountable to this. Not by Barack Obama and not by Mitt Romney.

We don’t see Cry-baby Boehner doing anything, so don’t expect anything more from Mitt. Strategically executed, this issue could have been escalated into more than it is, to where it was the political time bomb for the WH in their 2012 run….. alas…Strangernfiction is right on the money on this one.

DocWahala – thinks someone took white-out to Article II Section 4 of the Constitution.

“the President, Vice President and all civil Officers, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of Treason, Bribery, or other high crimes and Misdemeanors”.

If allowing the straw-sales of 2,000 high power weapons to known drug cartels which results in the death of your own law enforcement is not ‘high crime and misdemeanor’, then forget it…nothing is.

I’m sure Holder will do his utmost to hold the whistle-blowers accountable. As far as the actual people responsible for F&F? Their names will never be known and Holder will never take any responsibility for his gross misconduct.

You know, I came into this sincerely trying not to dislike the guy just for his political background, since I don’t know anything else about him. But, really…

My God this guy’s a weasel. Seriously, take some effing responsibility. Don’t go dragging in all the things which you supposedly have done which are completely unrelated, don’t go saying that you don’t have any culpability because you didn’t know. If it was carried out by someone who you could legally give orders to, then it’s your responsibility. If you actually didn’t know about an investigation that led to the deaths of federal agents, then you should resign for incompetence.

On May 3, 2011, Holder told a Judiciary Committee hearing, “I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.

Yet internal Justice Department documents show that at least ten months before that hearing, Holder began receiving frequent memos discussing Fast and Furious.

Read the new documents

Read the July 5, 2010 memo
Read the “It’s a tricky case” email
Read the memo to AG Holder from Asst. AG Lanny A. Breuer
The documents came from the head of the National Drug Intelligence Center and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer.

In Fast and Furious, ATF agents allegedly allowed thousands of weapons to cross the border and fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

Congressional hearings so often frustrate me. Where are the good cross-x attorneys who will keep these guys from wriggling out and not responding.

At 3:01, that lying son of a bitch begins. Did anyone ask him just what “mistakes” he will take responsibility for?
At 4:10, he starts with the “fairness” crap, as in this isn’t “fair”.
Substitute Bush for Obama and Ashcroft for Holder and every democrat in congress, including those 2 loudmouth screeching wags, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Nancy Pelosi, would be screeching for heads to roll. But this is just a racist, political hatchet job by republicans.
At 6:25, I threw up!
What a piece of crap.

“…revitalized civil rights enforcement…”? All else aside, and that’s a lot, how does he live with himself?

Weasels in the wild don’t live with themselves very well, either. IF the GOP prevails in November it would sure be nice to see him charged with criminal violations next February. LOTS of violations.

I must admit this is a switch. Watching Holder’s previous performances I found myself screaming at the television. This time I was left dumbstruck…sick at heart that this man continues to be the most powerful LE officer in the country.

I wish we had a Rep here like Ms. Buerkle!!! She is excellent. Excellent question, and great interruption for the ace killer question!!

I don’t know the Congressional rules, but how she was capable of holding in a response to Holder’s idiocy, I can’t imagine. Time allowed or not, I’d have thrown it right back at him: “It is beneath the high office of US AG to not take responsibility for what is occurring under you, let alone claiming ignorance of it!”

More like her, please!

I think it was a tweet from Michelle Malkin today that called Holder “crap weasel” – what an insult to crap weasels everywhere.

Ann Marie Burkle is a really good woman. I was happy to meet her a few times while I was in Syracuse. I hope they keep electing her.

Some important questions in the last paragraph of this article, which is the 2nd of 2 parts.

http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/what-was-motivation-for-fast-and-furious/

The first is here:
http://www.wnd.com/2012/01/fast-and-furious-focusing-on-feds-in-arizona/

The cartels in Mexico are fast-spreading Hezbollah-Islamist dominated furies…so I guess the title of the ‘ops’ was appropriate. But that is all that is.

These ruthless drug cartels are spreading into Italy and Europe as well.
Recent discoveries of beheaded bodies in the USA show their presence is here as well.

Some military types have said the wars in Iraq and Afganistan were about drugs as much as oil… and that these groups have infiltrated our government and law enforcement.

No doubt the truth is uglier than we can or want to imagine. Remember the opening scene in the first ‘Godfather’ movie? Islamic hordes are that on steroids.

I’ve seen photos of their handiwork…on innocents. Yet, our own killing of innocent unborn infants is just as barbaric. Our support for abortion has reared and fed this ugly demon spirit and drawn it into our midst. It won’t go away until we repent and return to God’s law which is the basis for our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We coarsened, abused and violated our humanity.

Way to go Ann Marie … you put him on the hook and made him squirm.

The lady followed up.

The Department of Injustice
by Ann Marie Buerkle

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/02/02/department-injustice/

There was no coverage of these hearings in the dead tree WSJ today; zero, zip, nada. But there was a front page series of photos of tax cheat Warren Buffett yucking it up with college students who visited Berkshire’s headquarters. Well done, Rupert.

Notice in the video, rather than answer the direct question and charges, Holder employs the old duck/dodge/distract technique.
1. He uses the typical ego-centric (just like Obama) victim card “I don’t deserve this.”
2. He claims “This whole investigation is political
3. He says, all my other good works should cancel out my culpability against these charges. That’s like a murderer, say Al Capone, telling the jury, “I gave $1000. to the orphans home, so any murders I do don’t count.”

Liberals do this all the time. The Clintons arranged a photo-op of them serving one lunch at a soup kitchen as though that one good deed off-set the entire Monica Lewinsky affair and his perjury under oath.

One other Holder tactic is the ‘take the high road’ – He protests he is superior and too important to deal with a mere congressional inquiry and answer their inferior, inane, pointless, ridiculous questions. Alinsky tactic: employ rididule rather than reason/logic. Holder may have Obama’s narcissistic traits. Birds of a feather.

Leftists (marxists, etc.) have no reason, logic, evidence, so they attack, punish, ridicule the questioner, dissenter.

Ultimately it comes down to law in a congressional hearing. Issa is maneuvering Holder into a contempt of congress charge and Holder knows it. He can’t testify honestly and he can’t ignore subpeonas forever. He’s stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. The battle is over the timing of the coming contempt charge in relation to the general race.

Heh, heh, heh.
